A list of puns related to "Shakespeare Apocrypha"
I love reading introductions to standalone critical editions of Shakespeare's apocrypha, because many of them open with a hilariously defensive introduction written by the editor in the first person, all of which follow the same format:
Established scholars are wrong about this play, and I am here, through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, to tell you The Truth.
Here is the vaguely plausible but wholy unsubstantiated historical fiction I wrote that explains my thesis.
Here is a list of quotes from the play that totally, objectively, circumstantially sound like something Shakespeare would write.
What's your favorite apocryphal play?
Wikipedia has 39 plays, including Edward III and Two Noble Kinsmen. I've ordered a book of Shakespeare apocrypha and it has 14 plays, including those two. What do you guys think about those two plays and apocrypha in general?
That is all.
Spoilers for Dragon Ball Z, One Punch Man, Fate/StayNight: Heavens Feel and Fate Apocrypha ahead, you have been warned.
"I might just be a pothole in the road to you big guy, but it's going to be one heck of a deep pothole." - Tien
I'm not sure if this is a trope but I love it when someone fights an opponent way out of their league (usually a side character against the main villian) and instead of rolling over, they go balls to the wall and fight for their lives. Not only can it result in some great action but can help develop side characters who might have taken back seat in develpment or re enforce the threat a villian poses by ragdolling the weaker character.
The best example of this scenario is Tien blasting the shit out of Cell so Android 18 can escape, Tien knows he isn't going to do any damage and won't last very long but in doing so delay's Cell from absorbing 18 until other Z Fighters arrive. But this isn't the only example from DBZ. We have Future Gohan fighting 17 and 18 so Trunks can escape, Bardock blitzing his way through the Frieza Force, and Vegeta going apeshit after Beerus slaps Bulma.
Inversely from my previous example of SC vs MV we have Saitama vs Boros, everyone who has watched/read One Punch Man until this point knew Boros wasn't walking away from this but by the end when I first watched it I was sort of hoping Boros would actually hurt Saitama in some small way, the man put his heart and soul into that fight and is the first character that survived Saitama's punches in a non gag scene.
Not the best example since he actually wins his fights but Shirou Emiya in the Heavens Feel route goes from a master (who normally are lucky to not instantly die vs servants) into a sort of semi servant with set a life expentancy and fights knowing that, the dude breaks his body in every fight because so long as he completes his objective he dosen't care. He's like a crack fiend on a bad trip going against heavyweight boxers in this route.
Lastly we have poor Frankenstein from Fate Apocrypha, berserker servants give up sainty in exchange for stat incre

Everything is pretty much the same until SE.RA.PH., for the aftermath, I want to actually call attention to the fact that we are talking with BB and Kiara, aka people from the future of Fate/EXTRA with knowledge of Spiritron Hacking, aka the form of magic used once the era of mystery comes to a close. I feel like that might be something Chaldea would be interesting in learning about.
Also, one thing I wanted to do with Kiara involves the Memorial Essences. Normally used to have Servants gain memories and experiences from other versions of themselves, I had the idea of the summonable Alter Ego Kiara gaining a Memorial Essence of her former good human self that was eradicated. It doesnβt completely erase the more twisted CCC Kiara, they both kind of exist in the body with FGO~Kiara being in the back of her head trying to reason with her CCC self. You know that scene in Samurai Jack with Aku having therapy with himself? Itβs like that in her head. It would result in a sort of personality merge eventually. I didnβt just want to have FGO!Kiara take over the body because that kind of erases consequences (in a fic where Romani gets summoned back via an opening in the throne after his sacrifice and Da Vinci doesnβt die, so I am simply being a selective asshole).
For the Summer 2017 Race, I wanted to add a bit more of a serious take to it. The event as far as I know is Ishtar trying to use the magical energy of the racers to build a new Gugalanna. This could probably be all the βuseless goddessβ jokes getting to her so she can pull a βWHOSE LAUGHING NOW!?β moment.
Finally, the Christmas 2017 event with Ereshkigal in the Underworld. I have considered switching it with the 2nd Christmas event with Jeanne Alter Santa Lily so the sequel for Babylonia will happen directly after it. But to switch the plot around and have it fit with the slice-of-life BS of Fragments, my alternate take on the idea is just Chaldea going to the Underworld to spruce the place up like Ereshkigal wanted, like one of those home improvement shows. Nergal can show up to be a Grinch if we need an antagonist. Just as a big Christmas present for Eresh. I mean this is the last heartwarming event before the Lostbelt s

My main source text was initially this scan of the First Folio, and I sourced Edward III, Sir Thomas More (the complete play, not just Hand D), and The Two Noble Kinsmen from the original-spelling anthology The Shakespeare Apocrypha edited by C. F. Tucker Brooke, and I read Pericles in a facsimile edition of the first quarto (1609), Shakespeare's Pericles edited by Sidney Lee, both of which can also be downloaded from Internet Archive, if you're interested. However, at roughly the halfway point I was beginning to think that I wanted a facsimile edition of the First Folio of my own, so I ordered one online for only $8 less tax and shipping. The full title is Mr. William Shakespeare's Comedies, Histories, & Tragedies: A Facsimile Edition of the First Folio prepared by Helge KΓΆkeritz (Yale University Press). It's a handsome, sturdy hardcover bound in buckram, which of course made me think of Gad's Hill in 1 Henry IV.
What makes it a reading project is not only the scale, but also the fact that before each play I read the essay about it in Shakespeare After All by Marjorie Garber and afterward listened to the play as an audiobook in order to get a sense of what it was like in performance. The main source for the audiobooks was the Arkangel Shakespeare series, which was produced in affiliation with the Royal Shakespeare Company and thus is voiced by a cast of professional actors, including some famous names of which the most notable is Sir John Gielgud (!!!). They also have music and sound effects, so it's the next best thing to going to a live play. The only decisions I didn't really care for were the soft jazz background on The Two Gentlemen of Verona and the inexplicable decision to make the entirety of Posthumus Leonatus' dream/vision in Cymbeline sung rather than spoken. However, since they only cover 38 plays (the traditional 37 plus The Two Noble Kinsmen), I got Edward III and Sir Thomas More from LibriVox. Though these were amateur recordings, they were acceptable.
At the same time, I was reading Elizabethan Plays edited by Hazelton Spencer (which you can also read online at Internet Archive, but I bought a hardback edition), so by a complete coincidence I've read a

As a big Shakespeare nerd I was a little overwhelmed still at points. Like, holy shit, everything is in here. Plays, poems, apocrypha, anecdotes, legal documents, common speculation, everything about Shakespeare is in here. I was having to really dig back into my memory to get so many of the references. It was fun, but super super challenging.
So, what was your experience like? How does it compare to the other chapters to you? Do you appreciate it more on a reread? Curious to hear people's thoughts.
Ok there been many Fate/stay night vs Fate Apocrypha or Zero discussion but usually people only discussion the class vs each other so here I'm going to talk about how I think Medusa would do against each of these servants 1v1 in a neutral territory and skiping any fight we already have seen like Medusa vs Artoria. I also plan to make post for the other Stay night servants to. I'll be using a 1 through 10 for how may times i think she can win overall.
Note: I don't have the greatest grammar and not great at explaining thinking I doing this mostly for fun. I'll also be using all the servants real names.
(Fate Zero)
Gilgamesh: I don't think I need to explain other then his pride chance of loss i near impossible. 1/10
Iskandar: Medusa win this because of her Mystic Eyes which honestly going to win her most of these she physical stronger thanks mosters strength. Iskandar doesn't have any shown of being great in CQC either and even if he used Ionioi Hetairoi Medusa eyes and Bellerophon would just destroy his army has has basically nothing on her. 8/10
Diarmuid: Ok Diarmuid only save grace is that he doesn't have any super flash and op weapons so Medusa might not feel the need to use Mystic Eyes some times he definitely more skilled but in CQC but that it he can't even hop for his Love spot to work because Medusa has Magic Resistance B. 9/10
Gilles: Like I don't even think even thing Medusa need to do anything special to win and the tentacle moster are an non factor. 10/10
Hassan of the Hundred Faces: same with Gilles she probably doesn't even need he Np to win. 10/10
Lancelot: Don't know what to say here he stronger in nearly every way but his mana is to low Mystic Eyes hax for the win. 9/10
(Black Faction)
Siegfried: his mana to low and the only reason he doesn't lose as much as Diarmuid or Lancelot is because he has a Saber blast with Balmung even then you could argue the the Bellerophon could get thorough it. 8/10
Vlad: Yes someone that doesn't get instant lose to Mystic Eyes ok of what I remember Vlad stakes can come form anywhere from the ground and are somewhat dangerous what more worrisome is his spear that if it hit you he can start making stake in his opponent and considering he managed to get Karna with it he definitely skill even to get Medusa if the get in a CQC bout though i doesn't be he has any good defense against the Bellerophon it self. 4/10
Chiron: He pass the mana check but and the definitely overall more skill then Medusa all ha

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Hey everybody, so last night me and my sister were watching some movies and she decided to finish out Babylonia because Iβve told her everyone keeps saying how is she going to handle the later story parts. She doesnβt know whatβs coming but she is very determined she can make it work. Anyway on with the updates.
She has beaten all three of the goddesses and ranks them in order from hardest to easiest- Quetz> Ereshkigal> Gorgon. She does say the first two swap if you do the easier fight for Quetz.
She thinks this is the best story so far, and she REALLY wants Medusa Lily (Ana) now.
Queen Medb is now her BFF and she will not stand for slander of the cheese kicking queen
no level or Np updates on any fo the servants other than she is now trying to raise Shakespeare and Mozart to expand her support line up.
If you missed the earlier post and donβt know what has happened so far part 2 and part 1 are linked here so you can see it from the beginning
Anyways!!! On to how it all ended, and finally this part is written by her. I canβt get her to make a Reddit herself out of fear of spoilers but I can get her to at least type what she wants said into the notes app so I can put it here for you guys to read. Enjoy all of those who have become as invested as I have.
Hey, everyone!! First off I want to say thank you for being so kind in the comments my brother had shown me. (hopefully thatβs all there is) Iβve been a fan of the fate series for a while, I first started with he visual novels and then the fate stay series of anime. I then got into fate extra and apocrypha for their games and anime respectively. This past weekend has made me love FGO so much and I hope I donβt let anyone (or Chevalier Dβeon) down.
So, think the last post my brother made was about me beating gorgon in her final βBossβ fight. If you want to call her that. Thematically the fight was amazing, execution wise, at least for me, she was a non-threat. Little snake dying did break my heart though and I hope she blesses my Chaldea soon.
After that can we address the next biggest issueβ¦. Who the fuck designed the Lahmuβ¦, those spider looking sa

I'm a twenty-eight year old NB person (they or he) ISO friends and/or enemies. Really just more people to talk to. I'm thinking mostly an internet situation at the moment, but if you happen to be near me I'm also down for in-person activities!
About Me:
I like to read. I write a lot. I've been banned from making party playlists by my friends because I won't stop including my favorite pop-punk hits from the year 2007. I have a lot of strong feelings about map projections. I'm a tarot reader. I really like pulp novels from the 1930s. I have a needlessly encyclopedic knowledge of both regional fast food chains and Christian apocrypha. I think Lear is Shakespeare's best play even though Macbeth is my fave. I'm not great at describing myself?
About You:
At least like, 23 years old. I teach, and I super do not want to talk to a current or former student on here.
It would be cool if we have some overlapping interests, but also v cool if we don't -- I really like hearing about various subcultures and niche interests that I am totally unaware of.
I think that's everything. Hope to hear from some of y'all soon!
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Frankenstein's Monster was the creation of the genius scientist Dr. Frankenstein. However, once she was created, she was immensely lonely, and begged the good doctor for a mate. He refused, leading his Monster on a trail of destruction culminating in her demise.
In Fate/Apocrypha, Frankenstein's Monster was summoned as the Berserker of the Black Faction, as part of their declaration of war against the Mage's Association. She was bestowed upon the meek mage Caules Forvedge, but together, they came to a mutual understanding.

William Shakespeare is one of the most famous playwrights in all of history, and dreaded by high school students around the world.
In Fate/Apocrypha, Shakespeare was summoned as the Caster of the Red Faction, but he quickly ditched his summoning Master; they were too boring for his tastes. However, the Master of the Red Assassin, he held potential for a great tale...

Nothing, he was gladiator.
So, i wanted to write which are my favourite and least favourite chapters in the first arc. This is based on story, not gameplay.
9: Septem
Yeah, im not a big fan of this one. It has some good things, like Nero, who is one of my favourite Servants from Fate Extra, and i like that we killed Lev, and i guess that the idea of the United Roman Empire isn't bad (i mean the concept, not the execution).
But aside from that, yeah, i dont like this chapter. The villains barely have characterization (with some of them dying in their first appereance), that part in which they go to a island with Stheno (or Euryale, i confuse them) literally had no relevance (unless im forgetting something), the majority of the characters barely matter (why were Jing Ke's and Spartacus here?) and the final boss literally came out of nowhere. Like, i think that Altera's first appereance was actually this chapter, meaning that, until Fate Extella came out, you would had no clue of who the shit is she, which is a shame, because i like her in Fate Extella.
So yeah, not my favourite chapter.
8: Fuyuki
I dont really have too many things to say about the prologue. i mean, i like how it presents us with the concept of Singularities, the introduction of the characters is well done, the surprise of having the director dying at the prologue is shocking, and it does give us a good beginning threat in the form of Saber Alter, who, before playing FGO, you probably would have known how much of a danger she is thanks to Heaven's Feel. Aside from that, i dont have much else to say of this chapter.
7: Orleans
It does give us Jeanne Alter, which would normally be a 11/10. I also like the premise, and it has Vanilla Jeanne who is one of my favourite Servants from Fate Apocrypha, alongside Moedred and Astolfo. Also, i do find Marie kinda alright. Aside from that, everything is okey. it does have its moments, but nothing is really sublime. And many of Jalter's servants, like Martha and D'Eon, barely appeared. The only one i can somewhat remember appearing is Carmilla and i guess Vlad. So it's an alright chapter.
6: London
I like the premise of a London with more mist that usual and monsters, it has Mordred, which is a one of my favourite Waifus in Fate, and we get to see Solomon for the first time, and its a great introduction, killing almost everyone with ease. Also, we have Andersen and Shakespeare, who are entertaining, and we also have Fran, who is very cute. And we do
