A list of puns related to "Scishow"
I really do.
They almost always discuss it in a positive light too. I get that some animal experiments have led to amazing discoveries and inventions, but the amount of sick twisted things done to rats, monkeys and so many other animals, often to achieve so little, really makes me sick.
I didnβt find any mention of it here so I wanted to pass it along. My four year old loves it (sheβs a little on the young side for it but has been watching for like two years now and picks up a remarkable amount of information) and itβs good for all ages - I learn a lot from it too!
The hosts are kind and engaging without feeling pandering, and they present the info in a fun and clear way. My daughter loves βMiss Jessiβ and will occasionally launch into full blown scientific explanations of things that Miss Jessi taught her. The other day on a walk she pointed out types of trees and talked about how birds often eat seeds to spread them in their poop. We learned how to make ooblek and itβs now one of her favorite activities.
So yeah, check it out!
This feels weird and evangelical, but here is the video:

Question should read "Does SciShow Tangents get good again?" I didn't proofread and now I look foolish
I started listening at the beginning and just made it through season two and the departure of Stefan Chin. They've announced that they're playing with the format and... it's just not working for me.
Do they ever find their stride again? Am I just being too picky?
So apparently American cars explode if put into the oven. How do you sterilize them then? I have a bit of experiance with jars that crack from the oven sterilization routine but they are always store bought ones. So commonly we use reused commercial jars as they can not only take the oven sterilization temperatures but also the thermal shock of having a jam that's around 100c poured into them while they are closer to 150-180c although we try to avoid this as this can make even the best of jars crack. Edit: also strawberry jam especially tends to aquire a caramelized taste if the jar is too hot when you pour it in
