I'm headed to WOCS in a few months, and I am trying to figure out if I should keep my car or sell it before I leave. I know that you can't use your car at WOCS, only idle it up on Sundays, but once past WOCS is it easy enough to get by without having a car on post? It would be really nice to not have the payments through flight school if I really don't need the car. Plus the used car prices are so damn nice right now.

I already own a GR1 and use it for EDC and daily rucking for stroller walks with my son (2-4 miles). When rucking I just fill it up with heavy books and I’m good to go, but it’s becoming a pain to constantly switch out the contents depending on what I’m doing. Torn between getting a bullet or 3.0 and looking for feedback.
I like the features of the Rucker 3.0 with it’s reflective strip, sternum strap and finer fabric on the back (I’ve had some clothes wear out).
As for the Bullet I love the smaller size, but I’d probably need to buy a plate for weight.

I sent GoRuck this question but until I hear back I just wanted to see if there were any rumors kicking around.
Due to the heat where I am, I have been rucking shirtless with my OG GR1. I don't know if I've just got sensitive skin but the friction of 1000D Cordura with all that weight inside the bag tends to give me friction burns which can blister for the week after- no matter how I adjust the straps to keep it tight against my body.
It's gotten to the point where I've wanted to bring it to a tailor or something just to see if we can add some cotton scraps and around the back panelling just to alleviate some of this. I saw the Rucker had a 210D Nylon back panel but I really like the form factor and the usability the GR1 for non-rucking or travel stuff.

Hey guys, non-Rucker here. I have a friend who is super into rucking (female), but I have no clue what to get them. Clearly backpacks are the number one thing, but I can’t afford one of those. Are there smaller accessories that are always in need, like a carabiner? Wanted to get them an assortment of gifts but not spend all in one place. Thanks in advance!

I needed a backpack for the gym, pool, day hikes, dog walks etc. Big fan of my GR2 34L and wanted something 18-22L. Enter the Rucker 3.0. All the same features and build quality of my GR2 just simplified in a 20L bag. It’s around 16inches high, water bladder and ruck plate compatible. It does everything I needed it for and more. So I tried it out on a one bag weekend trip, using a Small Peak Design packing cube, Nomatic Toiletry kit 2.0 and Peak Design Tech pouch. All 3 fit perfectly stacked on top of each other and I put my iPad mini in the ruck plate pouch. The padding and material on this bag is their new material on the inside of the shoulders and part touching your back that doesn’t hurt Merino too. This is my new “small” one bag for short trips or if I’m taking a budget airline and can only bring a small personal bag. Love this thing and it was only around $150 on sale.

Daryl looked over his flight charts in his flight deck. Flight deck/home was really a 50 meter room with all the flight management systems and his bed and a little kitchen area. In the corner is where lovely was taking their place on the makeshift bed where she curled up waiting for the normal routine. Several containers of food and personal items were stored. As he took his seat in front of several monitors. One of the monitors was large and curved showing what was out in front. As the trucker sat down in a large and well worn seat putting on his head set.
“This is Rush Valley 154799, final inspections complete ready for departure for 2 standard months.” A voice of the controller responded “ Rush Valley 154799 you are cleared for departure please head to 90 by 170.54 at .5 AU as per flight plan.” “Rodger” Daryl stated. “Rush Valley 154799 please refrain from using species based slang as per standard code.” Daryl took a deep breath “ Sorry, I will refrain from species based language.” As he turned off his mic, Fuck you. Caitlyn appeared next to him crossing her arms, “Well, Well you are in a mood today. They are just keeping order and making sure that everything is safe.” Daryl gave a grin that made most species very nervous when they saw humans make this small facial gesture.
Daryl relaxed back in his chair and moved a small control panel to head toward a large gas giant. The AI was flickering as it was running several mathematical computations. Prepare for a slingshot maneuver in 10 seconds. Daryl knew this was an older technique to achieve speed but it would save him on fuel and fuel was money. As the forces caused the ship creaked from the extra strain of forces. As they begin to accelerate, Lovely buries herself into the blankets that make her bed. Daryl was extremely focused as he knew that many ships had cracked or burned up pulling this maneuver in the past. But the Rush Valley had been upgraded over the years not for luxury or even updated to be in code in the inner spiral but upgraded for him.

Ever since I got The Roots' Things Fall Apart on CD at thirteen, that final track hit something different. It was one of those songs that I could only play annually because I'd have to stop whatever I was doing and ugly cry.
Over a decade later, I up moved a thousand miles away from my suburban teenage home, ending up in West Philly where, almost by pure coincidence, I now live pretty close to the poet.
Tonight was my first time listening to it while high. As expected, it absolutely cored me, but when I smoke, as I think is the case with all of us, I notice aspects of songs I never had before. With this one, I had to stop and pay attention to her incredible word use, flow, and ability to convey the feeling of raw hopelessness in her delivery. The same reasons it always broke me are what I now realize are brilliant about it.
Since moving here, I've seen exactly the violence she must've been living around when she wrote it. Met women who underwent similar extreme abuse, had neighbors lose their lives to gun violence and heroin. I understand it on an entirely different level than when, as a suburban kid, I knew all these things happened, but only intellectually. Now I know how accurate the tone of utter futility, senseless loss, it conveys is. I also noticed that towards the end, it samples a news clip from what I now recognize is a local channel, talking about a murder somewhere I've been: In fact, I noticed it matched the poem's story, looked it up, and found out this was about a real event.
Maybe when I'm sober I won't be so blown away by it, but it's definitely one of the best things specifically written about violence and abuse, though, for the same reasons it's one of the darkest and most deeply painful.
Yeah, these are the trains of thought I go down when I smoke.

1x medium pouch (a bit smaller than the GORUCK field pocket), this was hung in a GORUCK GR1 back in 2019 but never really used.
2x side pouches - these actually fit the side molle of a GORUCK bag pretty well, looks like mini gorucks on the side of your GORUCK, if that's your thing. Never used or taken outside, just mounted to test.
1x hip belt pouch - this fits well on the right side of a hip belt for snacks or small items. Can be mounted vertically as well (but would be on the left side due to the zipper orientation). Never used either, I kept another one for myself.

I will have a spare room in my house I rent starting 17January 2022 at Enterprise, AL. It’s literally around the corner from the Enterprise gate! It’s like living on post, but without the hassle! Rent is $450 plus utilities.
-house is mostly furnished -huge backyard -pet friendly -4 bed, 2 bath
