A list of puns related to "Ronald D. Moore"
Moore famously left Voyager's staff because he thought the show didn't take its premise seriously the way DS9 did. This led to a breakup of the writing duo of Moore and Braga, who wrote two Star Trek movies and various episodes together.
Moore then went on to create the rebooted Battlestar Galactica, which totally dunked on Star Trek: Voyager and Braga with its successful exploration of harried space farers on the run trying to find home.
Next Moore created Outlander, which took the time travel plot of Braga's Terra Nova and totally dunked on it.
Most recently Moore created For All Mankind, which totally dunks on the Braga-created Enterprise.
I can't wait for Moore's next dunking-on-Braga series.
I have seen a couple of comments on this but no posts, it seems like a big deal in terms of the possible impact on For All Mankind. He isn't 'leaving' leaving, will still executive produce but this means a new showrunner; Ben Nedivi, who co wrote 'The Beeding Edge' and 'The Grey'
I was disappointed because BSG showrunning and writing most of the time was fantastic, especially the relationship between Adama and Roslin, then i noticed the episode with that Danny Karen scene was written by Ron D Moore! Interested if people think him barely being involved for season 3 will change the show?
As an aside, i cannot get my head around him being courted by Disney, he is going to do a Swiss Familiy Robinson show apparently.
It's a podcast interview and the BSG portion begins at about 1:06:30. He recaps his phone call with Sam Esmail, explains that he's happy it's not a "reboot" ("'I'm not gonna recast Laura Roslin'") ...
Closest he gets to new-ish information is this (speaking as Esmail): "'I have stories that I wanna tell that are within that universe that you didn't get a chance to tell, and could do in these other places in the Battlestar franchise,' and I said, 'That's great.'"
He finished by saying, "I have no idea what he's got in mind, but I'm eager to see it."
Just watched it, there are a few Star Trek references in there. And it's actual good sci-fi too! :)
For my money, the best thing that ever happened to Star Trek was Ronald D. Moore being hired onto the TNG writing staff, and then eventually moving over to DS9. I think he's one of the most talented science fiction writers they ever had in this franchise, and so much of what I love about it are things that he directly had a hand in.
He's been the showrunner on Outlander for a few years now, and when that series wraps up, CBS should do everything in their power to recruit him and give him absolute control over a brand new show of his own choosing.
I've been in the Outlander world for a few months and I am starting to go down the rabbit hole of the BTS of the show and production teams variations... and I wonder if you can catch me up on why did Ronald D.Moor and Terry step aside from the show as of season 4?
I really loved their input to the show and can feel their absence in seasons & 5
