A list of puns related to "Reusable Cup"
I know this sounds stupid, trust me, but I canβt stand carrying around a reusable cup once Iβm done with my beverage. I just want to close the lid and chuck it in my bag without any possible spillage. Does these even exist? I would be down with using one if so. Bonus points if they come in fun colours and not just black. Thanks!
Is it a hassle for baristas? I live in two different states and seem to get different reactions from baristas when I ask to use my personal cup. In Florida it seems more normal, and in Michigan they always seem caught off guard.
Do you appreciate customers trying to use less plastic? Could you care less?
What are your opinions?
The cup hadnβt been cleaned since it was last used, so I apologised and said we DO accept reusable cups but ONLY if they had been cleaned.
The passenger did not like this one bit, they were so offended.
βWhy? What is the reason? What is your policy?β
I said that before covid, sure - we would have maybe rinsed it out if it wasnβt too dirty, but nowadays - no chance.
βWell NUMEROUS other stores accept my cup in this conditionβ
After reading other stories on here which suggested this, I asked him which stores he went to. Then thanked him and said Iβll be in contact with their managers (not that I actually would)
I just couldnβt believe how upset they were getting over a clearly dirty cup
I've recently started using menstrual discs because I work in a field that has me away from a proper restroom for hours at a time (best I've got is a portopotty with moldy toilet paper) and I needed a better solution for my period than just pads. I actually really like the discs (I've tried softdiscs and flex discs), but they're pretty pricy and honestly I feel like a little wasteful.
Years ago I tried a menstrual cup and absolutely hated it. I found it painful (like it put a weird pressure in my vagina) and I was just constantly aware of the tip you pull on stabbing me. Now, I feel like I might have just gotten a bad/cheap cup and am willing to try again, but I'm hesitant so keep that in mind. I think my biggest issues were that the silicone was too hard/sharp and it might have been too big.
So anyways, I'm looking for recommendations on either a reusable disc or a cup. I think I would prefer the disc, but again if you absolutely swear by a product I'd be willing to look into it. I'd also prefer to buy from Amazon just for the convenience and quick shipping (guess what time of the month it is lol)
Thank you!
Edit: it's been a long week and typed I'd prefer a cup when I meant disc π€¦π»ββοΈ
Hi Everyone!
I am planning to start a brand for reusable bubble tea cups and I have a few question for my market. Just wondering if anyone here is using reusable boba cups? Any comments on the product itself? Any problems that you have with the product and any ways that you'd improve it?
I finally had it with trying to have a leak free period with a cup and used a leftover Softdisc today and am 80% sure I'm going to switch to a reusable disc. Less trauma to my poor vaginal muscles and less time making sure the damn thing is open.
Which ones are closest in size to the Softdisc aside from Cora? And just for details sake, I have a high cervix and a regular to light flow. The disc hasn't remotely gotten close to overflow.
And for curiosity's sake, what does it mean when the disc isn't leaking/hasn't stained my underwear, but there's blood on the outside of the disc?
I KNOW that plastic is evil but I'm human and forget to take my own, so I end up acquiring cups, bags etc and I try and keep them for 'next time' Repeat π©
Does anyone know of cafes downtown that accept personal cups? I've tried Starbucks and Tims but they seem to have a different policy at each location. I'd really like to stop using throw away cups. Thanks in advance.
After exhaustive searches, I'm conflicted on a travel cup to buy. It would primarily be used for taking coffee made at home on the go and keeping coffee warm to drink slowly during the workday. Cafes in my area are also asking for customers to bring reusable cups for to go orders due to supply shortages, but this is a much rarer use case for me. My priorities are that it doesn't affect the coffee taste, is relatively easy to keep clean, and has a screw top to allow me to drink from it like a normal mug and get the aromas. Ideally it would be in the 10-12 fl oz (300-350 mL) range. I've narrowed it down to a few:
Fellow Carter Move Mug: https://fellowproducts.com/products/carter-move-mug This is the only one I have limited experience with (my so has one). I do like it, but reports of the smell from the gasket and issues with it affecting the taste make me hesitant.
Kinto Travel Tumbler: https://kinto-usa.com/collections/travel-tumbler This is my favorite in terms of aesthetics. However, I am not sure about how the rim/splash guard would affect the aroma. It is also the only one that is not coated on the inside. If anyone has experience with this, do you find that the steel affects the taste?
Zojirushi SM-ZA36: https://shop.zojirushi.com/collections/vacuum-insulated-mugs-bottles/products/smza This is just the model that interests me due to the one piece lid. It has the teflon-coated interior. I am fine with this from a safety perspective, but I worry about the durability of the coating over time. If anyone has experience with the teflon-coated zojirushi's, do you find it durable?
W&P Porter Insulated Ceramic Bottle: https://wandpdesign.com/collections/porter/products/insulated-bottle This one is hard to find information on. It is also ceramic coated and very similar in size to the Fellow. It is, however, my least favorite aesthetically due to the silicone exterior. Any information on this one would be helpful.
Purist Collective Maker: https://www.puristcollective.com/products/maker-10oz This is another one that is hard to find information on. Most of the information/reviews focus on the larger sizes for use as wate

I swear I saw on the starbucks app that they started taking reusable cups again several months ago. Last week, I brought my cup to a local starbucks and I was told "no reusable cup" They weren't busy, I wasnt ordering anything special (just a tall size brewed coffee). I hate using disposable cups and utensil and it really made me feel bitter that this store probably said no to other customers. What would be the reason? Does the policy vary by stores?
Does somebody have a link for reusable softdrink lids like they have at fastfood restaurant (McDonalds etc.) so i can carry them in my car
When the pandemic started a lot of coffee shops and restaurants stopped accepting reusable cups and boxes, What is the current sentiment towards reusables in coffee shops? What is the right etiquette to ask for coffee in a reusable cup? I find it awkward to carry one to the counter only to be turned down.
Hi all, thanks in advance for helping me.
I'm a university student trying to learn about people's usage pattern and personal habits on reusable cups. I've seen a very creative approach when i was in Germany so i phrased it in and I want to know how other people react to it.
It's a simple Google Form, does not collect any personal/demographics info.
here's the link : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdjMzQLyx5ZQPSTMpQcV9Mfp_GkmmoD6wE2LsitroJodPywtQ/viewform
Thanks.
I want to switch to the reusable k cup to put my own ground beans in but the coffee never tastes strong. Is there a way to make the coffee taste better?
I'm mostly concerned about the sustainability and waste issues involved with the single use k cups.
Looking at the espresso drinkers of HRM - what type of reusable cup do you use and where did you pick it up? I am looking for an 8 or 12 oz cup.
My bf got me a K-Slim for Christmas. I bought reusable cups but they donβt fit very well, the top wonβt close completely. Thereβs maybe a 1/8 inch gap. Does anyone use reusable cups for their K-Slim? Care to share what or where they got them? Thanks!
Seems like a waste to throw away each one especially when mixing small quantities and/or multi layer pours. But also seems like it would be impossible to completely clean out the resin residue. Leading to contamination.
Had a man demand we take his dirty cup to the back, wash it/sanitize it and then put his drink in it. What part of "CLEAN CUPS ONLY" do people not understand?
Asking because we currently use disposable and there's a consideration to move to reusable but given the quantity in reality it would require a dishwasher.
Has anyone used Lipton Loose Leaf Tea in a reusable k cup pod to make iced tea? How much of the tea leaves do you use? I recently tried and I must have put too much (filled up pod) because it was super strong compared to the disposable pods from Lipton. Obviously, I am going to try a smaller amount but wanted to see if anyone has already done this and has a good starting off point for me!
Could be pre or post Covid!!
I just got a reuseable Starbucks cup for the first time and I donβt know how the whole thing works. Do you say what you want and the size and then give it to them? Then do you pay the normal price, but just have the drink in your own cup??
I know a lot of us probably have multiple reasons for wanting to try reusable cups and discs, but I'm curious which reasons are the biggest drivers.
Edit: Wow, I'm loving the huge response to this! Reddit clearly doesn't allow enough polling options, because in addition to all the polled reasons (environmental, comfort, control of leaks, and cost), several more are emerging in the comments:
So cool to see the number and variety of reasons why people prefer cups/discs. I guess we're biased on this subreddit, but still, there's so many serious advantages being identified here that I'm sure it was hard for many of us to pick a primary reason!
