For the third time, /r/RPClipsGTA will be organizing a Best of the Year contest to allow the community to laud their favorite streamers, characters, people, and events from 2021. Normally subreddits give out rewards in the form of Reddit Gold to the winners but since most of the content being voted on occurs outside of Reddit, gold would be meaningless as a reward. Instead the awards themselves will be the promotion and recognition for their winners by their peers and audience, but we do still hope you vote and nominate seriously despite the lack of tangible reward.

Sorry for the wait for those of you who enjoyed my last post (which was admittedly much more popular than I was expecting). I don't have time to write this much during the week and if I posted on Sunday, it would get lost in the game threads and highlights, so Saturday is really the only day I can post this.
Link to Part 1 for an explanation of the criteria: Bottom Tier (21-30) Basically, a quarterback must have started at least one Super Bowl in their career without winning one. Read the intro to Part 1 for a full explanation.
20. Jake Delhomme, Super Bowl XXXVIII (Carolina Panthers)
Delhomme played for four different teams in his fifteen year career, spending six seasons with the Saints and seven with the Panthers. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Delhomme stayed close to home and played college football at Southwestern Louisiana (now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He was not selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. He once again stayed close to home when he signed with his home state New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.
Delhomme spent six seasons with the Saints as a backup while the team went through a starting QB carousel that included the likes of Heath Shuler, Billy Joe Tolliver, Kerry Collins, and Aaron Brooks. He started just two games as a Saint, both in 1999, going 1-1. He also spent some time in NFL Europe, where he was the backup to future MVP Kurt Warner on the Amsterdam Admirals in 1998.
Prior to the 2003 season, Delhomme signed with the Carolina Panthers, and posted strong performances in the preseason that convinced the Panthers to keep him as the second string QB behind starter Rodney Peete. The Panthers were a team just two years removed from going 1-15, and they were hoping Peete and second year head coach John Fox could restore them to some degree of relevancy.
Trailing 14-0 at the half against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season opener, the Panthers benched Peete and sent Delhomme into the game. Delhomme threw three second half touchdowns and led the Panthers to a dramatic 24-23 comeback victory, giving Fox the confidence needed to stick with Delhomme. Delhomme started the remaining 15 games, shocking the league by leading the Panthers to an 11-5 record and their first division championship since 1996. Delhomme passed for 3219 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions in 2003.
Delhomme led th

The 2-4 Patriots, struggling to deal with the loss of Tom Brady, hung tough with the division-leading Bills, only to lose on a Cam Newton fumble with 30 seconds left on the clock as the Patriots were driving deep inside Bills territory.
Josh Allen is picked off by J.C. Jackson twice before leaving the game early in the 4th with an injury. Bills QBs throw a combined 4 INTs, and the special teams chips in with a TD in this defensive battle.
The last Monday night matchup in Buffalo between these 2 teams was a slog-fest. Both teams traded FGs through 3 quarters until the Patriots finally put the game away in the 4th wih a James White rushing TD and a Devin McCourty pick six.
Logline: "Peter Parker shifts from superhero to reluctant detective when an Orange-Cloaked serial killer begins picking off costumed criminals."
The Pitch: A Whodunnit/Murder Mystery with HOBGOBLIN as the masked killer - A tribute to the decades long, wonderfully convoluted mystery of the Hobgoblin's identity in Marvel Comics. EVERY character who has ever worn the mask is a supporting character/suspect.
Note: This theoretically takes place after NWH. There are no explicit Spoilers, but some can be inferred.

Good evening people of power metal, warriors etc...
Last year I did a video and I did one again here but it's an overview of all melodic metal, including some death metal plus it's over a half an hour long but if that's your jam, go for it!
So let's talk power metal. There's been quite a few fantastic releases this year, I'm excited for Blind Guardian, Fellowship, Planeswalker and Sabaton coming out on 2022 and this year featured LOADS of amazing songs so I'm going focus on my favorite ten songs released this year with the added restriction of not picking the same band twice so we can have some variety. So let's just jump into the songs.
10 - Temperance - You Only Live Once
[Sorry no YouTube link]
Not a cover of the Bieber song. Wow I wasn't expecting Temperance to be this good after their last album. It was okay. THIS was great though. Uplifting lyrics, well-written melodies, great vocals, cheery AF. Man I love this.
The chorus is way too catchy. I listened to this song like a hundred times.
9 - Powerwolf - Faster Than The Flame
Faster. Faster. Faster than the Flame.
I'm usually not a fan of stopping the momentum but that part is just great. FAST powerwolf definitely gets me more interested than mid tempo. Atilla, again, kicks ass and there's just something about this song I like. It does sound a bit like Fire and Forgive but I love it regardless.
8 - Blazon Stone - Black Sails on the Horizon
Fuck Alestorm, here's the REAL pirate metal band. Blazon Stone's power metal release Damnation surprised the fuck out of me. I usually song listen instead of album listen, picking a few of my favorites and ignoring the rest.
However this whole album is just choice power metal. Although the best track in my eyes in Black Sails on the Horizon. I love the pressing feel of the guitars, fast picking that pushes to the chorus. The percussion is just perfect too, I don't always notice percussion but this is CHOICE.
Like a VAGABAAAWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNND.
That scream at the end. HOLY SHIT. This song is just what I asked for: no frills, just power metal. The chorus builds up, teasing until that final scream. The verses really lean forward to build to that final moment, a shreddi

Here's a quick countdown video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqYmV_4NkZc). There are 24 athletes this season at 170 lbs, and it's the most black belts in a season so far. Athlete list at the bottom of this post.
I love the PGF format because it's sub-only, but points are obtained as the competitors submit each other, depending on which sub. Chokes/strangles are worth 6 points, and joint locks are worth 3 points. Any submission under a minute into the match gains a bonus point. 4 coaches will draft players to their teams and coach them as the season goes.
These seasons are always fun because you can follow athletes and their stories through the event, and start to find the underdogs and dark horses. The PGF has expanded a lot since season 1, with a lot more athletes from different locations, and the production value has increased a lot.
It's an especially cool tournament for anyone that likes traditional sports. The league format is similar to football or basketball, and there's fantasy leagues if anyone likes those.
The season runs from January 9th-15th, and the Finale is on the 15th. The coaches' draft is 10am CST on January 10th, and the matches will be streamed here at 6pm CST (pre-show at 5pm) - https://www.youtube.com/c/brandonmcninja/featured and the Finale streams here at 11am CST on the Saturday, the15th: http://summitgrappling.tv/ The PGF portion of the Finale (not the undercard superfights) includes an eight-man, single-elimination bracket with seeding based on regular-season standings (how everyone's accumulated points shake out). As opposed to the last two seasons, matches will be using Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) rules with 10-minute matches.
Athletes this season:
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I took those days off of player features, but I'm back! Now that I've made my way through the awards winners, I'll need some suggestions for who to feature next. Today, I figured I'd feature someone who finally got his long deserved physical ring this year.

He played football, basketball, soccer and ice hockey when he was a kid.
He has three kids and a fourth due next month.
He pitched a perfect game in high school and had a 0.77 ERA his senior year.

... keep reading on reddit β‘A few months ago, a dive into Grant Hill's Wikipedia page got me wondering. How many active teammates did he have? Curiosity piqued, I went from there and scanned over all NBA Hall of Famers and compiled their active teammates. And then did it with baseball. The NFL, with their much larger rosters, was a bit frightening, but here it is at last! First, a few ground rules.
A. Each player must have either played this year, or be on the injured reserve. No free agents, so players like Larry Fitzgerald were disqualified from this exercise.
B. Practice Squad DOES count. Tahir Whitehead played with Calvin and he's on a practice squad this year, I counted him. On the flip side, TO only played on the Seahawks practice squad in 2012, but I still counted the Hawks teammates.
C. Finally- I'm anything but perfect! I skimmed over all these rosters over a few hours, and I'm sure I missed a few here or there. Only caught Broncos Brett Kern, Steelers Brian Hoyer and Falcons Dustin Colquitt at the last moment. If you see where I erred, don't be afraid to correct me- I also used the rosters on Wikipedia, because Football Reference is murderously slow, so that might not capture the full season. Anyway, the players!

Here is the potential WBCQ team for New Zealand. Assuming the team receives all their players, you'll see plenty of current MLB players. When putting together these teams, I am putting a best case scenario. It's called potential/projected players who might join the team, not who will join the team. The tldr will be towards the bottom if you want a quick idea on if this team will make it or not as these post are detailed. Scroll down towards the Reasons Why They'll make it to get a short version.
Just some context:
Strong: The team is a favorite to qualify for the main tournament. Everything clicks and they win a spot to qualify.
Average: A competitive team. Can hold their own against the top baseball countries but certain things have to go their way to beat them. Third or fourth place finish with a chance to challenge for the second qualifier spot in the group.
Weak: Not strong enough to qualify. Fifth or last place finish

I just think the theory is interesting it was the whole reason I watched the first movie. There are slight hints that they might have been gay (the kitchen scene, Billy being called gay terms by Randy and Sidney, even Matthew agreeing that "Stu was super gay") but I also have other theories on this, that maybe Stu was gay or bi but Billy wasn't and was just using Stu help him with the murders. Thought if they were dating, the relationship would probably be somewhat toxic based on what we see when Sidney escapes. Billy is angry but he gets very violent, even aiming the gun at Stu a few times. It's just a theory I have nothing much I just wanted to know what people seem to think about it since it's a very popular theory.
It really does, I swear!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

βIs this some sort of a joke?β Ma'trin said warily, carefully scrutinizing the group sheβd come to pick up from the space port - normally a job beneath her, but the situation was just enough of a mix of diplomatic and troublesome to demand she show up to take custody, rather than letting them find their own way to the school.
It wasnβt that they were highborn - quite the opposite, in fact. Not a one of them was of any importance to anyone else on the planet. No, the problem was that they were Human. A race only recently added to the Imperium, and one that was still struggling to accept their place in it. Worse, they were Human children. ... Adolescents, at least. Or so her annoyingly brief briefing had claimed. The introductions, however, were not going well.
The Shilβvati womanβs face was scrunched into an expression of wary dismay. An old, shallow scar gleamed palely down one cheek, bisecting the eyebrow but missing the eye, testifying mutely to a history of military service. An old history, if her waistline and expensive professional clothes were to be believed.
βWho names their child βHorny?β Ma'trin groused, looking over the cluster of five young humans arrayed before her. βOr Rug?β Sheβs about to continue but one of them spoke in Shil before she could.
βItβs a problem with the translators, Maβam,β he said. He was second shortest of the group, hair as black as any Shilβvati. His accent was odd, but his grasp of the language was good enough to surprise the Shilβvati woman, though she glowered at the implication that Shil goods were somehow at fault. Somehow she hadnβt expected the humans to speak βproperly,β despite being students come to learn.
βOr more itβs that theyβre trying to translate names like theyβre words that arenβt related,β the boy continued. My nameβs not βRug,β itβs Matt. Itβs short for Matthew, an old and popular name where I am from. His name is Randy, itβs short for Kahurangi.β
Rug- no, Matt, pointed at one of the taller boys, one with skin that looked a little sickly to the ShilβVati. Sh

I probably won't be able to keep up a daily pace for longer than the first in-story day. After that Iβll aim for weekly, but I pitch like a girl.

The building complex that came into view as the vehicle crested a hill seemed huge to Hope, at least for a school that wasnβt a university, but she knew itβs just how the ShilβVati built. There were several buildings, but none were more than three floors high - twice the height of equivalent human buildings, but the added ceiling clearance to allow two metre plus claustrophobes feel comfortable meant they were on the huge side for a human.
At least the purple was broken up with swathes of black and a slightly faded looking lime. They were accent colours on the honest-to-goodness stone buildings, but the figures wandering across the courtyard were clad in almost nothing else - it seemed to be a school uniform of sorts, or perhaps the colours of whatever noble was in charge of the facility.
As she shouldered her bag and got off the bus, Hope could hear an agitated buzz of trying-not-to-sound-too-excited voices coming from the students, even though they were hanging back. She could even make out some of the comments.
β...so tiny!β
βOh my Goddess, is that a human?β
β..a boy or a girl? How old...β
β...heard humans are all boys, or close...β
β...stupid, how would they reproduce, do they litter?β
β...think theyβre all huma... wait. Is that a Nighkru?β
The word was spoken with a venom that Hope didnβt understand, not knowing what a Nighkru even was. The question was enough to cause an ominous lull in the speculation and her stomach clenched in anxiety.
Before more could be said an older Shilβvati woman stepped out of one of the smaller one-story buildings. She looked older than Maβtrin, her gaze almost sleepy seeming as opposed to the other womanβs piercing glare. She was the oldest looking Shil Hope had ever seen, but that wasnβt saying much - she looked younger

#THIS THREAD IS FOR ADDITIONAL CATEGORY and GENERAL SUGGESTIONS/AMMENDMENTS. NOMINATIONS WILL OPEN NEXT WEEK
Preliminary changes are divisions of police departments into their own categories and reintroduction of Best Driver

Alright folks, it's been a very competitive nomination round, but after 400+ entries, countless votes, multiple ties, and several late surges, we've finalized the ballot for the /r/DCcomics Best of 2021 Awards. We selected 5-6 nominees for each category, but some contests were so tight that we had to let in a 7th or even 8th nominee.
The ballot itself will be posted some time tomorrow, when I get around to making it. We'll keep it open for about a week. Until then, feel free to make predictions or use this as a guide to catch up on reading. In January, we'll announce the winners. January's Character of the Month will go to the top vote-getter in the Best New Character category in the nomination thread.
If your favorite creator or book didn't get nominated, well there's only one explanation. Feel free to use the r/dccomicscirclejerk salt thread. Consider using that, instead of harassing me with hate mail (yes, that happened) or making 80+ Google accounts to stuff the ballot box (also happened).
Past years' winners can be found here.
