A list of puns related to "Present Continuous Tense"
"Imagine we are looking at this and that and we are seeing/we see them."
This is not my sentence but it has the same structure. I think we are seeing is the right one but we see sounds better to my ears. Also is there a better conjuction to use instead of the second and?
I'm aware that in Portugal it's normal to say "Estou a falar", whereas in Brazil you would say "Estou falando". I have two questions:
If I say "estou a falar" to a Brazilian, will they understand what it means, even if they have had little or no exposure to EP?
Does this "estou a falar" structure exist in Brazilian Portuguese but with a different meaning, or is it totally foreign thing to them that exists nowhere in BP? Do Brazilians only hear this when they encounter EP?
Here's my latest video where I explain the Present Continuous tense in under three minutes!

I roughly know what aspect and tense are, but because of how English uses tenses and aspects compared to other languages, I struggle to wrap my head around them.
Things like "perfect" and "perfective" confuse me as well. Are they the same thing? I see some websites say they are while some say they're different...
I'm kind of confused tbh. For example, "He is leaving the country tomorrow".
Eg If I had better brakes, I would not (be hearing/hear) a grinding sound everytime I stop the car.
Help.

This was actually covered in our class book (page 41) but the heading is "Estar a + infinitive" so it is totally unclear what it is about and so you may have overlooked this. Also, if you are using one of the phone apps like Duolingo, which is teaching Brazilian Portuguese, this is a key difference between the two variants of the language so I find it useful to talk back to the app with the European Portuguese version to make sure that I do not forget.
Another reason to post this is to reference this site. They are mainly trying to sell courses but the "learning notes" might be useful. However, they are not sorted neatly as they are on learningportuguese.co.uk for example.
