A list of puns related to "Pontiac Grand Am"
The Grand Yam.
I've tried asking this question on r/Pontiac but I didn't get any answer. I'm just looking for a what were they thinking answer, but I have a 2004 Grand Am. I love that car, with one exception: every once in a while the car doesn't want to start on the first try and you have to put the ignition on auxiliary for 10 minutes.
You can look it up on YouTube, there are hundreds of videos on how to rewire the ignition to bypass that. I'm not mechanically inclined enough to try that. This is not a mechanical issue, the car in fact was designed to do that. But it is annoying as all hell, and I just want to know WHY that was considered a feature? Does anyone know why Pontiac thought this would be a good idea?
Absolutely no one in their right mind would ever want that in their car. My car is doing what it's supposed to do, there's nothing wrong with the ignition, and it's not a key issue, but it gets really annoying going to start it wondering if today is going to be the day it'll make me wait 10 minutes. It might do it once a week, it might do it once a month, it's just always a (very unpleasant) surprise.
But I just want to know why they did it. Thanks for any insight.
My bf and his son just bought this car and it needs both new headlight assemblies. Where is a good place online to find them and what could we expect to pay for a pair? Also, how would I go about finding the correct parts number? Thank you!
I was reading forums trying to get a clue. My vacuum is at 17Hg (good is 17-22), Fuel pressure 41psi, battery good, alternator puts out 13.7v. I just replaced my idle air control valve; RPMs went up by 100, but problem still persists. What could the problem be? I was suspecting a vacuum leak but 17Hg is good. My power steering pump has fluid and the connector is good. Just replaced the head gasket, but unfortunately I don't know the compression for any cylinder. Before this happened the car was running great, no overheating or misfires. I also just changed transmission fluid filter and added all new fluid (Dextron III 7 qts). What could I be missing?
Title says it but Iβll go in more detail. My rear driver side window will go down if I use the switches, but wonβt go up. I hear the regulator trying, but in order to get it up I have to push it up by hand. I can only push it up as far as the regulator is. Maybe a bad cable in the regulator or something idk?
I must be doing something wrong. I can't get the thing off. I've tried an air compressor + Ingersoll Rand impact gun. I tried using a screwdriver to hold the harmonic balancer, but the retaining bolt won't turn at all. It almost looks rounded at this point so that might be why but I still get a good grip on the bolt. A breaker bar won't work, either.
I just bought a used grand am gt 2002 runs good but the blinkers emergency lights dont work. I see a really cheap 2001 grand am gt are many of the parts compatible. Im tempted to buy it.
My current mileage is around 167,740. I was going to order a new ECU with mileage around 167,765 or so to account for the small amount of driving I might do in the meantime. The guy at AutoZone asked for exact mileage but how can the mileage be exact if I drive even 1 mile, then the mileage will actually go down when I get the new ECU. I don't want to encounter some kind of weird error, thanks.
