A list of puns related to "Pierre Louis AlphΓ©e Cazenave"
Time to compare clones to the genuine of one of my favourite scents of all time: Louis Vuitton's Ombre Nomade.
I have a genuine decant that I will be comparing to Dua's - Leather for the Ages, Chez Pierre's - Luxurious (1:3 Formula) and Perfume Parlour's - Card Wander (Extract Spray - Black Bottle).
I've already reviewed the Perfume Parlour and Chez clones, and they were both quite good. I would love to find an even better clone so I thought I'd try Dua's to see how it contends. I have worn this before, and without comparing, it smelled great. But how does it stack up?
A little about Ombre Nomade: It's a very rich complex fragrance with Oud, Rose, Incense, and Amber. It screams luxury when you smell it and performance on it is incredible. This is more of a fall winter fragrance that you wear to formal events, but I like it so much, I would wear it more often personally.
Methodology: Spray the fragrances on different parts of my arms. Smell one, then smell coffee beans, smell the other, compare.
Do this fresh after spraying, and then again after 20 minutes.
My comparison impressions:
TOP NOTES
The genuine fragrance starts off with a hit of the rose, and a depth from the oud. Such a rich, creamy scent with a bit of spice that tickles the nose.
Dua's clone shares almost all of the same notes. At first whiff, it does hit the nose a bit harder than the genuine. This is surprising because the genuine is well known for its nuclear strength and Dua's is even stronger. This is a tiny bit sweeter than the genuine, but overall, I'm very impressed with how accurate this one is. (97% to genuine)
Perfume Parlour's clone is close too, but a bit soapier with a bit more of a chemical scent. Almost all of the notes are there. It's lacking a little bit of the richness to the genuine fragrance. (95% to genuine)
Chez Pierre's also smells a bit soapier and chemically than the genuine. I'd say between Perfume Parlour and Chez, they are very very close to each other. Chez's hits a bit lighter than Perfume Parlour. (95% to genuine)
Overall, these are all very very good clones.
AFTER 20 MINUTES
The genuine scent got leathery compared to the others. The sweetness from the rose is still there, but its well balanced with the leather notes.
Dua's clone has the leather notes too, but the sweetness is more dominant than the genuine. Not too much more and it remains to be a very close clone. (95% to genuine)
Perfume Parlour's stayed quite linear to the top no

After my previous review of the Genuine vs. Chez Pierre's version of LV's L'ImmensitΓ©, I started to really really like this fragrance and I wanted to find the ultimate clone of it.
I have a genuine decant that I will be comparing to Dua - Vastness of Citrus & Chez Pierre's - Serenity (1:30 Formula)
L'Immensite is a nice, easy to wear fragrance. It's citrusy, gingery, and fresh. More of a summer scent, you could push it into the fall as well. It really is inoffensive and can be easily worn in an office setting.
Methodology: Spray the fragrances on different parts of my arms. Smell one, then smell coffee beans, smell the other, compare.
Do this fresh after spraying, and then again after 20 minutes.
My comparison impressions:
TOP NOTES
The genuine hits you with an aromatic citrus right away shortly followed by the spiciness of the ginger. It's well blended and smooth. Very fresh and clean smelling.
Dua's hits you with that citrus right away and very similar to genuine, the spice of the ginger starts to peak through. It's not quite as blended and smooth as the genuine, but very very close. It too smells very fresh and clean. You can also tell that the formula from Due is more potent. (95% to genuine)
Chez's clone hits you hard with that ginger and citrus immediately. It's quite a bit harsh. Last time I rated this as 85% to genuine, and I think I was a little too generous then. Doing a side by side comparison again today, it doesn't score quite as high. The notes don't smell blended enough and they do have more of a synthetic note. (75% to genuine)
After 20 minutes
The genuine fragrance has mellowed out quite a bit and continues to be balanced and smooth. The amber notes are starting to pop through. This smells classy/luxurious and not cheap.
Dua's clone doesn't settle into as blended of a state, and the ginger note dominates more in this one. Perhaps that's attributed to its higher potency. None the less, all the notes are there, just in slightly different proportions. This is a very very good clone (95% to genuine)
Chez's linearly holds that ginger heavy scent from the top notes, and some of the supporting notes have yet to appear. It still smells more harsh and never strikes that smooth balance of the genuine or Dua's. (70% to genuine)
Winner: Dua - Vastness of Citrus
I think I found a winner in Dua's vastness of citrus. I have worn this a few times already and I can tell you that it's longevity is great, better than the
