Foo Fighters are excited to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but maybe not for the reason you think.
Following Wednesday morning’s announcement that the “Everlong” rockers are part of the Rock Hall’s 2021 class, the band tweeted, “Holy s***! The guitar player from The Germs is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!!!”
That, of course, refers to Pat Smear, who was a founding member of the influential ’70s punk band. Germs fan Kurt Cobain recruited Smear to join Nirvana as a touring member, and he later reunited with Dave Grohl in Foo Fighters.
While Grohl has already been inducted into the Rock Hall as a member of Nirvana, Smear was not, making the Foos’ induction his first official enshrinement.
Along with Foo Fighters, the 2021 Rock Hall class includes The Go-Go’s, Todd Rundgren, JAY-Z, Carole King and Tina Turner. Additionally, artists including late Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads and electronic pioneers Kraftwerk are being inducted with the Musical Excellence and Early Influence Awards, respectively.
The 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place October 30 in Cleveland.

I have referred to a "pap smear" as "Pat Smear" in the past and corrected that when I saw how it was actually spelled.
Something that we really need in this community to post more about is Pat Smear.Write below what do you think about this suggestion!

I am a HUGE Nirvana fan. Not a Foo fighters fan. Hearing Howard say Foo Fighters are a bigger band than Nirvana annoyed the shit out of me and glad Dave corrected him. Because that’s insane talk.
But Pat Smear has been in the music industry for decades. He was a legend in 1979. I actually just watched “ The decline of Western Civilization” yesterday for like the 10th time. So good. It’s about the LA punk scene in 79-80 and Pat and the Germs are in it. One of the best music docu’s ever.
Nirvana had so much edge and more amazing songs on one album then Foo Fighters have had in 20 years. Although as much stores as Pat Smears has he never responds much to questions. So probably asking Grohl is the right choice. Glad to hear them comment on Nirvana days.

Hey y’all I’m new to this group. I’m currently researching for a potential new guitar. I’m drawn to the Pat Smear Sig. I like the look of the guitar quite a bit. Demos I’ve watched haven’t been very detailed so they weren’t helpful. I wanted to know if you guys could help me out with the following: How heavy/light is it? Is the top actually carved or is it a curve? How good are the pickups in low gain settings? Did you need to replace the pickups? Any tips regarding the neck profile?
His and kurts vocals match up so fucking good, never really noticed it was him until I watched the video on YouTube !!! Can’t stop listening!!
This is for anyone whose a guitar nerd like me who watched the Foo Fighter’s Amazon Holidays concert.
Pat Smear is a huge Gibson fanboy and he’s almost always seen with Vintage Gibson Guitars on stage. But one thing that I noticed, specifically was the Gold top he was using in the last song. It looked like a master tone, a neck, a bridge but no pickup selector?? He also had a Les Paul during “Best Of You” that had two tones, one bridge and one neck but still no pickup selector. Are there Les Paul models that strictly run in the middle position only?
Can anyone refer me to that model he was using?
