Life happens, and I need to raise some money so cleaning out most of my stuff. I would like to keep a piece or two to remind myself to get back in the game when I can afford it so if you have anything cool that I missed in the last couple of months feel free to hit me up for a trade. I'm my wife's walrus (lumpy, grumpy, but protective) and she's my significant otter.
I'd love to surprise her with a custom art piece of a walrus and sea otter (which is different then a river otter) either holding flippers or hugging or something romantic (sea otters have hands/paws, I'm clearly off the trail here). Clearly there is a size difference in these animals, so, realistic proportions aren't high on the list.
Style: Cartoonish, minimalistic, realistic, I'm not sure. I'd want to look at examples of your work (especially if you have animals in your portfolio). I'm not looking to integrate my or my wife's face into this. I do not thing there is any world a caricature of me as a walrus looks good.
Medium: I'd love to have this as a physical object, but understand that can impact the cost. A water color or traditional(?) painting would be fantastic and I will pay more for that. I'd be willing to discuss a digital piece for the right artist/style.
Size: If physical, I'd like it to be 8x10 (or 10x8)ish. I'm going to mat it and put it in a 11x14 frame frame. If digital, something that is high enough resolution that I can do a print at a 8x10ish size.
Deadline: Would need this by February 1 so I have time to get it framed (and printed if needed).
Budget: Between $50 and $175 depending on the medium and size. If I'm completely out of line on my budget, slap me and let me know.
