AtE: Orientalis Dev Diary #2: A Rising Sun

γ‚γ‘γΎγ—γ¦γŠγ‚γ§γ¨γ†γ”γ–γ„γΎγ™γ€‚Happy New Years to everyone, and welcome back to a rather belated second dev diary for AtE: Orientalis! To start the new year off, today’s diary will travel away from Vietnam and past the mainland to the shores of Japan.

The Empire of the Rising Sun

Summer grass- old soldiers' dream ruins.

In the wake of the Event, the civil authority of the Central Government was shattered and strife ravaged the archipelago. In the collapsed government’s wake, local strongmen and former governors break apart the country into piecemeal parts as in the days of old. The Imperial family has sat by idly, cloistering themselves in the imperial palace within the former grand capital of Tokyo. Grief stricken over the great shame that has befallen the land, they are now reduced to mere figure heads of the power players of the Kanto region. Their cultural and religious power is virtually unrivaled however, and thus no power has dared to bring harm upon the family. Instead, they are wielded as a symbol of legitimacy by those rulers strong enough to control the old seat of central governance.

The Heartland

Eastern Honshu is one of the two heartlands and major contenders for political control over the fate of Japan. Claiming direct descent from the remains of the old Central Government, the Kingdom of Kanto is the foremost state in the region. Centered in the political capital of Tokyo and with the Imperial family firmly under their influence, the Fukuzawa clan have made great strides in reasserting the position of the center. The only remaining immediate threat in the region are the barbarians to the north, who’s recent raids into the kingdom’s outskirts have led to a rebellion of the counts in the periphery.

The Chubu region by comparison to its eastern and western neighbors has stayed in a state of complete disarray. Princedoms are divided by political rivalries and religious tension and are further inflamed by

Informazioni e sbocchi lavorativi su lingue orientali

Buongiorno.
