A list of puns related to "Olof Dreijer"
It was supposed to come out in the summer but I haven' heard anything since. I remember shaking my ass to it whilst watching the first club DOMO and I want to do it again!

Hello! Welcome back to the Album of the Year 2013 series, our special throwback writing series where indieheads users discuss some of their favorite records of 2013 through their own unique perspectives as writers. Today we have u/teriyaki-dreams discussing The Knife's Shaking the Habitual.

I rarely see The Knife mentioned on this sub, so a brief intro is in order. The Knife is a Swedish band comprised of two siblings, Karin and Olof Dreijer. (As a quick aside, Karin came out as nonbinary a few years ago, but is often referred to as โsheโ in old interviews and articles.) Thereโs a bit to unpack here. First came the self-titled: The Knife is a weird album, with cheap midi keys, stock drum machines, and Karinโs singular voice tying it together. Karinโs singing is a core feature to the Knifeโs sound: their thick accent combined with the completely unrivaled (and indescribable) timbre and the duoโs tendency to pitch-shift the vocals makes their style utterly unique. Many acts have tried to imitate the band in some degree (comparisons were made between the Knife and CHVRCHES and Purity Ring), but none are able to emulate such an enrapturing voice. Their second album, Deep Cuts, pared back the weirdness just enough for one perfect track, โHeartbeats,โ which is a dense, uplifting, and lyrically dense hit. You likely heard Josรฉ Gonzalezโ cover of it first, a lovely acoustic joint that charted higher than the original (not to mention the many appearances in commercials and film). An easy way to rile me up is to ask me what I think of the Knifeโs cover of the Josรฉ Gonzalez song, but thatโs neither here nor there. The rest of Deep Cuts is a great listen, but โHeartbeatsโ stands as a monument from that album. Silent Shout was the Knifeโs big critical success, and for good reason: itโs a remarkably consistent piece that combines the Dreijersโ ear for pop with dark, brooding synthpop atmosphere. Karinโs voice is pitch-shifted to a menacing edge as they sing about illness, abusive relationships, and sex work. Iโll get into this a bit more later,

First post here in r/popheads that I thought would be worth doing now that itโs been almost three years since Robyn released her really amazing album โHoneyโ, it was an album that marked a mature and beautiful evolution for the pop star. It got amazing reviews and it was heralded by a triumphant tour in the US... but the tale wasnโt as sweet here in Sweden where Iโm from.
For the record, Iโm a huge fan of Robyn, I think sheโs one of the most consistent and amazing pop stars out there, I have every release and remix that she has put out but the whole album turnout here in Sweden left me and a lot of other people with a sour taste in their mouths. And hereโs why:
Before the release of โHoneyโ Robyn wanted to make an ultra exclusive show in a secret place here in Stockholm. It was a show that you couldnโt buy tickets for but you had to win the tickets through an app. The app was basically like a โPokemon Goโ but instead of collecting Pokemons, you collected different trophies/tokens. These tokens you had to gain by either finding secret signs spread throughout the city of Stockholm or by constantly trading with different people everyday. Robynโs own thoughts surrounding this whole idea was to get people together and to make her show affordable for people who couldnโt pay for tickets.
In theory this was a very good idea, but the problem is is that people developed a cutthroat attitude in order to get a ticket. They did so by cheating the system and buying/lending various cellphones so that they didnโt have to go out and meet other people. So it was in hindsight better to have released tickets so that people could buy it instead of an app because people with money and means acquired more phones to just cheat the system. Also I heard of people throwing each other under the bus, because instead of choosing their friends to go with in the concert they opted to go with other people that played the app competitively. The app in itself was a buggy mess as well.
Also, this app was excluding as the most tokens could be only acquired in Stockholm. There were people from other countries and other cities in Sweden that were excluded from this competition. After a while they actually did release special tokens and trophies for people outside of Stockholm but it wouldnโt have happened without fans crying out to be a part of the competition. Also all the fan meetings inside of town to exchange trophies/tokens were literally in the most awful hours that only accommod

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies ๐

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
