What are the Nusfjord players thoughts on the elders? There are 7. They remain constant. I've played 2 games so far and the elders just don't seem to be worth it. I can understand in a multiplayer game when a lot of worker placers are jammed but that doesn't really seem the case on a solo game. Their "bonus" doesn't even seem worth it.
Forest manager for example is remove 2 forests for 5 wood and a gold but straight up deforest is already worth 5 wood for 1 forest. So by taking him you get 1 gold for 1 additional forest removal basically. And if you aren't careful that's -2 VP at the of the game or even more depending if you remove in 2 separate spots.
What am I missing? Which ones of these are good for solo play and why? They aren't worth anything at end game AND they have to be fed after I obtain them.
Games have been opened and played. I will do my best to find the lowest shipping cost.

A little bit about Nusfjord.
I'm a big Uwe fan. Agricola is one of my all time favorites. Hallertau is probably the favorite game from last year in my collection.
I recently purchased a used copy of Nusfjord (with the Plaice Deck Expansion). I have only played the solo version 4 times with all the separate decks this past week. I love the card play, pulling off small combos and the tightness even in the solo version. It plays lightning fast. I love that there are only 3 resources to keep track of. For one of them (fish), there is no way to get it from the action spaces (unless there are building cards that give you fish bonus). The elder mechanism is very well done. So is the shares mechanism. I had my doubts about how the shares would work and if the initial fish distribution might be fiddly but it all made sense as I played the game. I grasped the game mechanics in the first 2 rounds of my initial play. The publishers were not kidding about the 20 minute solo gameplay time. By the 3rd and 4th play, I managed to play a game in about 20 minutes.
To me, Nusfjord is an underrated gem. It flew under the radar. I can't wait to teach the game to my gaming group during the weekend. I'm sure everyone is going to love it as much as I've enjoyed playing just the solo version. In the unlikely event that it's a dud with my group, this would still be my go-to weeknight solo game (along with Glass Road and Le Havre short version).
Man is Nusfjord a thing of beauty: streamlined mechanics, quick setup and play, lots of variation with the decks (even more so with the expasions) and together with Under Falling Skies my go-to solo game to sit and chill.
What would be the next best thing Uwe has to offer for the solo enthusiast? I'm eyeing real hard Fields of Arle, A Feast for Odin (+ the Norwegians) and Tallerhau, which one would you think is the better one, would you recommend another title not previously mentioned?
Also, is the Patchwork Automa good? Not just ok but a legit solo experience? Patchwork is way to good so I know I'm buying it sooner or later, I just wanna know if it's gonna be a blast or just for the sake of completeness.
Local trade since shipping would just be brutal. Preferably around the Belleville/Trenton area.
Great Western Trail (1st ed) is the German Pegasus version but the game is language independent once you print an English rule book. It is also missing one of the 24 objective cards.
Other than that, everything is in great condition.

I finally got to try the new expansion to one of my favorite refreshingly unique designs, Treasure Island, and it didnβt disappoint!
Iβve always appreciated Treasure Island for its thematic treasure hunt style of gameplay where one player acts as Long John Silver who buries his treasure on a massive island and marks the spot with an X on his tiny secret map. Meanwhile, the remaining players are pirates who scour the game board with dry erase markers as they search for the buried treasure and narrow their search with hints, clues, and bluffs from Captain Silver.
The mere act of tracing routes and circling search areas and sectioning off regions with markers on a game board makes Treasure Island a novel experience. Add in the pirate bluffing, semi-cooperation, and devious manipulation, and this design becomes a real winner for me.
That said, this isnβt the type of game that I would want to play on a frequent basis. I think it benefits most from long gaps between plays, and your mileage will vary depending on whether you prefer to be the deducing pirate or the Captain Silver puppet master.
Additionally, most veterans of Treasure Island will tell you that the game board is too saturated and the markers are too weak, leading to difficult-to-read colors and markings on the board. Up to this point, the suggested solution has been to replace the provided markers with neon markers or dry erase Chalk pens, which pop much better on the components.
Fortunately, the expansion amends this issue by including a game board with dimmed colors that make the standard markers stand out perfectly fine. Thatβs one base game issue solved, and itβs not the o

Just looking for the Salmon deck expansion. Able to pay with PayPal. Thank you!
I have three Uwe Rosenberg games: Bohnanza, Agricola, and All Creatures Big and Small. I love love love all three, but I've tried Agricola solo and was bored to tears. Hated it.
Strongly considering one of the two mentioned above... I'm leaning towards Nusfjord because it's a bit cheaper, but that shouldn't be my deciding factor. Can someone tell me what the big differences between the two are? Which is better for primarily solo play with occasional two-player? I like Agricola and Paladins of the West Kingdom and Everdell and Lost Ruins of Arnak for worker placement, if that helps.
Been looking at a pure worker placement game - Nusfjord looks wonderful but the theme really irks me. I'm big into fantasy/sci-fi stuff (Dune Imperium/Too Many Bones/Gloomhaven/Under Falling Skies etc.) - would love something like Nusfjord with a board my toddler brain likes looking at too :)
Ruins of Arnak looks very interesting in this category but curious for more recommendations
This is the lowest I've seen it and I absolutely recommend this game if you love worker placement but have limited time or are a solo player. It's easily my favorite solo game.
I want to try a new uwe game and I've narrowed it down to nusfjord or halertau. What do all of you recommend?
Has anyone played both? Any thoughts?
I'm currently learning/playing Mage Knight, maybe Spirit Island and Mage Knight might be too much at the same time... My brain might need a break lol.
Is Spirit Island really complicated?
Thanks!
I narrowed down my search to two games XD
Has anyone played both SOLO and could comment?
Thanks a bunch!

I just got this to the table this weekend, and have since played probably 6 solo games with only the starting deck so far. Man, does this game sing! (And this is coming from a guy who usually doesn't like "beat your score" solo gaming.) Nusfjord is perfectly distilled into almost everything I'm looking for in a Euro-- worker placement, engine-building, high flexibility, randomized setup= high variability, stuff happening on other peoples' turns (in multiplayer), perfect high depth to low complexity ratio, short setup/teardown and short playtime. I bought it to just play solo, but I can't wait to introduce this to friends and family too. I knew I'd like it, but I could not have predicted how much I love it--it might even take the cake as my #1 worker placement game. I HIGHLY recommend it to you all. Who else has played, and what are your thoughts?
I love Agricola and Le Havre and don't mind owning various worker placements.
For me the theme of Nusfjord is endearing, and I enjoy the art on the boards and the natural colours (though it's a shame the buildings are just text), so that's what has drawn me to it.
Just curious what people who have owned it for awhile think of it? Most impressions I find online are from around it's release.
If it feels like a fun complex Uwe puzzle, but with reduced player time, I think I'll love it. My only worry is if it's too light of a game. Is this a quick game, but still quite heavy in the decisions you're making?
I mainly play 2p or solo, but if this is the quickest way to play a 5p Uwe game that retains the feel of his big boxes, then I'm definitely keen.
I'm debating between the two. Will play solo mostly or two players.
Any thoughts on these?
Thanks in advance
Edit: Actually, a better question is can either one replace Fields of Arle? (I can't find it)
Mostly looking to sell. Local preferred, buyer pays shipping. Happy to combo trade/cash to make up differences in value. Reasonable offers considered. All games in excellent condition unless otherwise noted.

Hi all - I've been craving some Uwe Rosenberg solo gaming and am looking for any of the games mentioned in the title. I'm in Seattle, so let me know what you're looking for including shipping. Thanks!
Prefer local to Los Angeles area.
Willing to buy, but have some games to trade too. All played once or twice and in great condition - Klask, Santorini, Nagaraja, Through the Desert, Fox in the Forest Duet, The Crew, Isle of Cats. Also have a bunch of Switch and 3DS games I'd trade if interested.
I have the following, and would sell or trade (see below):
I want:
I am in Spicer, MN, and would love to trade in person (St. Cloud, Paynesville, possibly Twin Cities). Otherwise I can ship.
Want to buy Nusfjord!
In general, Uwe Rosenberg games just don't do it for me. I don't find the art or themes particularly interesting, and the mechanics, while absolutely foundational, don't often have me coming back for more.
After playing Nusfjord for the third time, I found myself saying "hmm, maybe, but I need another playthrough to decide whether to keep this." At which point I realized if it takes 3+ plays to decide whether you enjoy playing a game, you probably don't.
However AFfO comes so highly recommended, it makes me wonder if this could be the game that clicks for me. It seems deep and interesting (at least mechanically), but it's also $90 (!!) and I'd like some input from the community before I pull the trigger.
Thanks everyone!
Everyone seems to have their own favourite Uwe game, which can be a bit overwhelming for people looking to buy their first one. Nusfjord seems to have slipped under the radar for a lot of people and can currently be found for only Β£20, how does it compare to some of his more acclaimed games (Agricola, Caverna, A Feast For Odin), especially at lower player counts?
