Jerzy Eligiusz Glowczewski, 97, who was born in Poland, fled when the Nazis invaded, joined Britain's Royal Air Force and flew 100 millions with the No. 308 "City of Krakow" Polish fighter squadron. He was the last surviving member of the squadron, and died in Manhattan.

Greek Air Force personnel, 23rd Pursuit Squadron with a Polish made PZL P.24 fighter, 1940. The main Greek fighter but helpless even facing the Italian Fiat CR.42 biplanes although the Polish fighter carried 2x20 mm cannons. I always wondered about the pilot visibility in this plane. Credit in pic.
