A list of puns related to "Newgrange"
Hi all, I am planning on a one-way single-day drive from Galway to Belfast in April. I'm hoping to be able to stop by Newgrange to take a tour in the afternoon, assuming I am able to get tickets. If I were to leave Galway at 10 or 11 in the morning, would this be too rushed of an itinerary if I wanted to make it to Belfast by, say, 7 or 8 in the evening?
In addition, is 4 hours enough time to drive from Galway to Newgrange with a lunch break in between? Planning on taking M6->N52->N51, and then local roads from Navan onwards. Any recommendations for food on that route are also very welcome :).
Thank you all!
As the winter solstice approaches, Newgrange is of course in the news and it got me thinking:
Way back in the late 80s or early 90s I remember the passage being very narrow at one point and the guide warning us and saying people would have to go through it sideways. I remember it being a bit claustrophobic to go by that point and I was a tiny, young primary-school-girl. I went again "recently" (thinking about it, it might be 8 years π³) and there was no narrow part at all. Did they widen it for safety reasons or have I completely made up the narrow part? π€
Ps I wanted to add a beautiful photo of Newgrange here but can't seem to add photos to a text post or write much text to a photo post π£
