A list of puns related to "New Arrangement"
Iβm a 25 yo SB and I just began an arrangement with an SD. We agreed on PPM for now. However, since we connected and settled on an arrangement, he has been texting me all day, everyday nonstop. He responds immediately to my texts, and if I allowed it I would be on my phone all day. Since we agreed on a PPM arrangement I feel a bit irritated with the fact that heβs trying to occupy a lot of time virtually as well. I donβt have a problem with casual communication to stay in touch, but this is excessive. He evens asks for a few pictures of me throughout the day. How can I address this without coming off rude? Is it expected for me to follow through with constant communication and pictures in any arrangement? Any advice would be appreciated πππΌ
Ok so they announced special meetings for the youngs only ( up to 30 years old) for going witnessing over zoom⦠4 congregations will be linked together.
For the others ( ie the older ones) another zoom meeting will be arranged @ another time of the week same 4 congregations over zoomβ¦
We are a mid-sized organization, and we are all returning to work, and we can pick our onsite schedule to meet a 40% onsite / 60% wfh schedule. Since we don't need regular cubicles so much anymore, the nice and tidy cube farms have been rearranged and many cubes will just be removed in the coming weeks.
Here is my TIFU: I came in and tested wireless throughput in areas where more people will be, and I was worried about terrible throughput rates. The results were dismal with even just my single laptop doing multiple file downloads: it was clear we needed more WAPs, a lot more WAPs.
I put together my PowerPoint and I was so proud of my work, I asked to speak during the "back to work" IT meeting that same day with all of the managers, and any individual contributors that wanted to get the skinny on what's what.
I am given the go ahead and I share my screen and I am on the slides' title screen: "We Need More WAPs, a Lot More WAPs." Well, I found out pretty quick many many folks were not muted as I heard laughing and snickering and my manager jumped in and asked me to explain what a WAP is, and I said it is a "Wireless Access Point" in this slideshow, but it is also "Wireless Access Protocol" other times if we are talking about ways to connect with different wireless cards or IoT devices. Privately he chatted with just me, but of course since I was sharing my full desktop it popped up and everyone saw where he asked "do I know of any pop songs with the phrase WAP?"
Well that was it, the meeting was pretty much done at that point: muted participants, or not muted, it was clear that I created a hilarious presentation somehow. Sensing I had lost the audiences' focus, I said I would send out the slides to anyone who wanted it, but I wrapped up with the summary that we pretty much needed more WAPs near all the break rooms, in the hallways, and all the new common areas, in case the dismal throughput results weren't clear.
I have since found out I am the "hero" for daring to say we needed to do things differently post pandemic, but after finding out that WAP also means something totally unrelated to geeky IT networking stuff, I don't want to be that guy: I am too old for this shit...
TL;DR - I am a "hero" at work after giving a presentation to all the managers that we need more WAPs at work to handle different working behaviors post pandemic.
Hello! I will be bringing home my first ever kitten on Saturday. I've been doing as much research and preparation that I can, and mostly all that's left to do is get a cat tree, and finish cat proofing the house.
So my question pertains to where in the world do I put the kitten at night? The shelter says she's about 7-8 weeks old. My boyfriend says to put her in the bathroom, which okay I guess. We have 2 bathrooms, one is pretty small so the litter box would be about a foot away from bed and food. The other bathroom is much larger, but is also where my dog sleeps.
My dog sleeps in a covered crate at night, but even so I'm unsure as to if they should share a room at night, especially since they don't really know each other. Boyfriend thinks we should have them share the room because dog is in crate, but idk, seems like a bad idea to me. Thoughts or advice?
Also should where the cat spends the night be their safe space/ first room they're introduced to? I planned to keep the cat in my office with me during the day, but don't trust leaving a kitten alone overnight in my office...
Really any advice on adopting a kitten would be great! I didn't even get my dog as a puppy so I really have no experience with baby animals. Thank you!
I currently live in a 3-bedroom apartment with one other roommate. My roommate and I have lived together over a year. We've been looking for someone to take the 3rd, unoccupied bedroom for months now, so we can finally split the rent 3 ways. Around October we narrowed it down to 3 potentials, and interviewed each one. My roommate Melissa (not her real name) said she had no preference between them, that I could choose. I chose the third person we interviewed, Andy (not his real name). He seemed the most compatible as a roommate.
It turns out that Andy already lives in the same apartment building as us. He just has to get out of his current lease and get onto ours. Then he'll be able to move in. It's been a struggle communicating with the building management. Melissa and I have been trying to set up a time to meet and sign the lease with Andy, but it's been nearly impossible to get ahold of the management people.
Andy actually lives directly below us. We're on the 5th floor and he's on the 4th. Not only that, but apparently the floor plan of our apartment mirrors the one he's currently in, so my bedroom is directly above Andy's. He says he can hear us walking around above him sometimes.
For example, on NYE I was watching the ball drop in times square on TV. I had a couple of friends, Jake and Lucy (not their real names), come over that night so that I wouldn't be alone on NYE. (Melissa had gone to her boyfriend's house for a small party.) I asked my friends to sleep over on the pullout couch. We stayed up for the countdown to the new year. About 10 minutes after midnight, I received a text message from Andy: "Hey, you good up there? I can hear you walking around." I guess we were having fun celebrating. So the footfalls would have been more numerous/loud than usual. I replied to the text "all good! happy new year."
Melissa is very easygoing and often stays up late with me. Usually we're watching some TV show or movie. I sometimes forget that other people have normal sleep schedules. Anyways, 2 days later I woke up needing to use the bathroom around 4ish in the morning. I used the toilet, went number 2, got back into bed, then realized I had to pee, got up, went back to the bathroom, went number 1, and went back to bed. Before my head even hit the pillow I received another message from Andy, as follows: "Hey can you please keep it down above me? I woke up because I can hear you pacing. Not mad just slightly frustrated." I replied to say sorry.
Now since
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi! Iβm Casper and Iβm non-binary. I live in a house where Iβm constantly being verbally harassed and emotionally abused and manipulated- I try to help out where I can and get told I donβt do anything. I have a job but itβs becoming ridiculous and doesnβt pay enough for me to move, not to mention it requires me to be in a space sometimes thatβs too hot for my heart condition to handle. I need to find a better paying job that doesnβt require me to be at a stove or toaster. (Short periods of time are fine but when I spend an entire shift there it becomes a problem) Also because of this condition I canβt work more than 6 hours at a time and need days off or else my heart goes crazy! So Iβm stuck financially and canβt get the motivation up to get the money elsewhere because of the environment I live in... Plus itβs getting difficult to take care of my cat because my family gets in the way and my dog is constantly being smacked around by small children being told they arenβt doing anything wrong (Sheβs a grumpy olβ lady so as sweet as she is, it hurts her and it could end up getting her put down if she bites one of them to protect herself as she is a pittie) I know others have it worse, but truly any help would be greatly appreciated and frankly would be a godsend. Please share this if you can or are comfortable with it. If all you can do is give a word of encouragement, that would be wonderful as well! Thank you!
(Also accepts Cashapp PM me if you would like to help me through there!)
Just fishing opinions on where to live. I can choose to live in the highlands right off of bardstown road, or live in one of the multiple student housing complexes near uofl campus. If i go the highlands route i feel like meeting other students and making friends will be more difficult as i would be in a studio or 1 bed 1 bath. If i go the old louisville route (bellamy, marshall, retreat, etc...) i can have a slightly lower rent and assigned roommates. School is my priority, but i don't want to be some lonely soul in the city.
Thoughts? Where would you rather live?
Good morning everyone,
So, my new equipment is coming in the next 2 weeks (Intel i5 11500, 32GB RAM, ASUS Pro Q570M-C/CSM Mainboard) and I need to plan ahead for the disk usage.
I have here 1x 256SSD SATA Disk Samsung Evo, 2x 512GB SSD NVME Samsung Evo, 2x 3TB NAS HDD Seagate Rescue.
Should i install proxmox on the 256GB SSD, and the VMs and LXC Containers on the 2x512GB NVME?Which Dataformat will be the best one here, because of the reports with ZFS and SSD wearouts? Should I do a raid 1 on the 2 NVME drives within the mainboard?
Some help for my planning would be nice :)
Thank you and have a nice day.
I know crabs crab and do what they want, but has anyone arranged their tank, and all of a sudden your babies decided to hang out more? What changes did you make?
UPDATE/ADDED: if anyone has tank setups and wants to share, let me know, please! Always looking for new ideas and ways to improve!
