A list of puns related to "Neville Chamberlain"
S6 Ep5 0:40 at dinner table, debating hospital takeover plans Chamberlain: "Goodness. I thought I was here to be lectured by a united group, not to witness a battle royal." Dowager to Chamberlain: "Oh, don't you enjoy a good fight?" Chamberlain: "I'm not sure I do, really." π (Robert explodes!)
The good guys of WWII/Star Wars who are backstabbed by Hitler/Vader, even though they attempt to sort things out with them.
One is British, while the other is played by a British actor.
Both are also leaders who get overshadowed by their more accomplished successors/pupils (Winston Churchill and Luke Skywalker).
Considering his Appeasement didn't stop war from happening and in this timeline leads to the UK being invaded and living under the Germans boot, would he be viewed in a with an even more feeling of hatred, detestment and anger towards his actions?
The demands of Czechoslovakia are his final demands. He is not even making threats and seems to be happy with what he has done. While the German military is growing more powerful than any other in the world he is doing everything he can to keep eyes off Germany. Germany is bringing in many goods while exporting at a high rate. Than the time comes, he makes demands and acts fast. In 1946 Germany invades Poland and world war 2 begins.
A bit of a historical political analysis, but when I did a historical methods class on researching topics pertaining to WWII in Europe, I learned Neville Chamberlain who started World War II as British PM, was later replaced by Churchill. What I donβt get is why this occurred. Wartime leaders tend to be popular in terms of the electorate. Itβs never happened in the US, and it didnβt happen in most other countries in World War II. So why did Chamberlain lose power? I know his strategy of βletβs cross our fingers the Americans join the war and side with usβ, but surely it must have been pungent if a wartime leader was pursed.
