A list of puns related to "National Teaching Fellowship"
Deadline extended through 15 December!
Members of this community might be interested to know that the M. C. Lang Fellowship in Book History, Bibliography, and Humanities Teaching with Historical Sources is now accepting applications for its third cohort. This two-year program is designed to animate humanities teaching by equipping educators to inculcate wonder in their students by enlarging the studentsβ understanding of original historical sources. Lang Fellows take two RBS courses (with free tuition and a $1,500 annual stipend for travel, room and board), and learn how to use special collections resources to teach undergraduates to understand and interpret textual historical objects as evidence of the people and culture that produced them and those that have encountered them since. Fellows are encouraged to enlist others on and near their campuses who could help create a community of practice (using available matching funds of up to $1,000 per year of the fellowship), so that book-historical humanities teaching with original primary sources is not merely a matter of individual style, but a central aspect of the local educational culture.
Librarians, faculty, and staff instructing undergraduates at small universities and liberal arts schools in the U.S. are eligible to apply. For more information, including application instructions, see https://rarebookschool.org/admissions.../fellowships/lang/
Applications are now due by 1 December 2021.

I am the first PhD applicant of my family ever. No idea how any of this works and am too scared to ask! Please explain what this means in terms of funding my deadline in December 15 ( for most programs and I am unhealthily overwhelmed) I really want to focus on estuarine ecosystems and mangroves but have yet to find any research programs focusing on that. I have called and had zoom meetings with so many professors, but again feel overwhelmed and am not sure their work entirely aligns with the weird niche of estuaries I am so passionate about. HELP! USA Chicago.
Also., I would prefer to study a lagoon or estuary outside of the us as I will be 28 after finishing my masters and really want to hone in on research and donβt feel 7+ plus years makes sense in terms of a PhD given my current level of education
Looking to teach abroad for a year or two after I get my certification. Israel is an option. If anyone's done the fellowship, what was it like? What sort of kids did you teach, and where? How's housing and other related expenses?
Forgive the narrowed request, but I really am only looking for responses from pastors or those who are/have been active in ministry roles (on church staff, deacons, or lay leadership in ministries), because I'd like to hear from your experiences and church disciplinary methods.
When I say "break fellowship," I mean no longer meeting with and worshiping with them, or keeping them in your sphere of influence as siblings in Christ. I'm talking about situations where you might even leave their church (if they are the leaders), or ask them to leave your church fellowship (if you are in leadership over them).
In no particular order, I'm thinking about Church leaders doing these types of things:
------------------
Where do you draw the line, and how do you go about the conversation? What would you say if they were close friends or even family members?
Do you cease to even share a meal with such people (1 Corinthians 5:11)?
Do you cease to greet them or welcome them into your home? (2 John 10)?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share from the Lord. Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus.
Just weighing my options. I'd like to leave Saigon, VN and get a Masters somewhere. Looking for recommendations:
Good countries to "hang out" in and work a bit while doing a program online via a US university ($12,000 ish for the less expensive but not bottom of the barrel options)
Teaching fellowships - at the American University in Cairo for example. Free Masters and you teach 8 hrs/wk.
Thanks!
Recently there's been a lot of hate going around for us academics since we enjoy paying our valued residents piss poor wages while creating residencies and fellowships for NPs so we can prepare them for succesful independent practice! As a respected professor at the one and only prestigious pretentious Ivory Tower University, this hurts my little baby ego, so I wanted to use this forum to clear up your misconceptions!!! Ask away please!!!
Iβm currently in a PhD program thinking about my next steps. I would like a position that is primarily teaching based and Iβm thinking about doing a teaching fellowship instead of a post doc (research based). Iβm not even sure where to start looking for or researching programs because βteaching fellowships + my fieldβ isnβt returning anything relevant...any advice on going in this direction is appreciated!
If you're looking for a way to gain valuable international teaching experience, develop professionally as an educator and grow your network, why not do all of that in Israel next summer as a TALMA Fellow? Join us for a month of co-teaching, professional development, networking, and more. In the mornings, you'll co-teach English in underserved communities alongside a local teacher, and we are equity-focused and work with students of ALL religious/ethnic/racial backgrounds. In some afternoons and evenings, you'll engage in workshops, trainings, and planned social events (with time built in for you to explore and have fun!)
