Hi guys, so I just want to vent a bit about a male co -worker. I thought we were pretty close but recently I have started to see him try and interfere with my work like not tell me important things that I need to know but he knows and these sort of things are very costly in the industry I work in. He doesn’t share some of his processes with anyone in the team also, and it’s as if he is always just looking out for himself. I work in a male dominated industry. Just today my boss was giving me really good feedback and i could see him listening to our conversation. When we were leaving we walked out together and while we were walking to our cars he asked me what my boss said and I explained to him, I was really in a good mood as well and I could sense he felt so jealous. He then started laughing and he was like straight out to me “ you need to settle the fuck down because I can easily bring you down into reality and put you in your place” I just looked at him and wanted to play it cool so I was like “ yeahhhh??? Can you?” And he kept laughing and said “ yeah just wait until I bring up all the charges that you have incurred from all your stupid mistakes , that’s enough to get you fired” and I just looked at him , I was in so much shock that all I could reply back was “ yeah we will see about that” I’m not sure what his trying to do but I feel like this guy is out to get me. It’s like he is the only one who can get recognition at work and hates it when others do. I really feel like he will get me into trouble soon. I don’t feel comfortable doing well in front of him either right now, I really just want to get my job done and go home.

I will find some time to reply to everyone’s comments on here but I really just want to say thank you all so much for the support and advice for my situation I really appreciate it. Also to update you, it’s been 2 days since the incident and I have just been extremely quiet at work, he hasn’t said anything further to me in regards to my mistakes or getting me fired. I am however treading very carefully and from what I have gathered will most definitely start documenting everything so I have record, I have written down all the times he has made threatening comments and also all the little things he does like withholding information and what the consequences of that was.

10 Years - not highly rated, has an all star cast and a feel good story.
Dazed and Confused - probably the best of this sub genre. At least the movie that got me into this type of film.
The Before Trilogy - Linklaker again, dialogue carries the films
Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus - Takes place over a few days, but fits the category.
One I forgot about - Before We Go - Chris Evans and Alice Eve falling for each other over a night in New York. I think the perfect example of that I’m looking for.

I live in a studio apartment with my cat. It has tiny bathroom and balcony. I love my cat more than family members. She knows I live in a studio apartment and have a cat. Apparently she is scared of cats, I just found out today when she visited. While we were up it was still okay but she “panicked” every time my cat looked at her. She asked me to leave him outside on balcony, I told her it was impossible, It’s freezing Im not leaving him outside for 10 hours. I told her if she was uncomfortable she should leave, she declined and said it was okay. Around 11pm she wanted to go to sleep and bring I have to leave cat outside. I went with my cat outside on balcony for two hours so she could go to sleep, i went back when I was literally freezing. She was still up. I was really upsted. I stayed in bathroom for another hour cause I was still cold. Whole night she kept me up cause my cat was scaring her. She left around 9am and I told her it was last time she stayed with me. She got really upset and said how I choose animal over her. Called me some bword and left. I don’t know what she told some of our mutual friends but they called me ass for upsetting her. So aita ?
Edit: I just had a talk with my “mutual friends”. She told them another story, How I suggested staying with me and I would let my cat stay with my neighbor overnight.(I didn’t know any of my neighbors) I told them what happened some of them apologized and some still think I was rude for not leaving my baby outside. I blocked “that friend” and definitely do that with other ones too. Thank you so much for encouraging words, I should stop being pushover. Aaand some of yall who are concerned how can I love cat more than my family members I wish people like them in your life 💗
I know this is long but it’s insane and I’m really depressed I am a store manager for a small business with a few locations and last night at around 5:30pm half hour from closing I received a call to the store landline by someone impersonating my boss’ brother. I know his brother works in the company as well and he sounded just like my boss so I believed it was him… as soon as he told me what was happening I immediately freaked. He said his brother (my boss) was laundering counterfeit bills and one of my employees was an accomplice. He told me a US marshall was monitoring our call so I said put me on with him. So an entirely different man gets on the phone and gives me a badge number, phone number and lutenient name. I was told to go through every hundred dollar bill in the store and read off the serial numbers to check they are real. This dude knew things he shouldn’t have and was making it so personal and emotional. The marshall was so professional. They knew names of my employees I didn’t give, where things were in the store. They told me if I said anything to anyone I would be arrested for violating federal confidentiality. I was told if I hung up they would come to my house so I was on the phone for 5 hours shaking like a leaf under an evil spell that I was saving the company and the family. At one point I said I didn’t want to do this I want to go home I need proof and someone to come here and prove it, he said my boss would see the cameras and it would cause a scene and blow their cover. I drove around for 5 hours on the phone with this nasty freak with $6000 cash back and forth from the store to kroger dollar general walgreens etc that carries these things called MONEYPAK cards (so be aware of those people) and load the money on them then read him the pin number. I even broke a register at a kroger trying to take make too large of a transaction.
I truly feel so ashamed and was told I was a victim by the police but I don’t know how to move past this. My boss was nice and kind of laughed it off yet was very concerned for my safety but I feel disgusting and sick and can’t help but feel they think I am the dumbest broad alive. I haven’t stopped shaking. They made me give them my social security number for proof thay the purchases matched (the stores took my ssn too) and photos of the front and back of my ID Oh and the best part is they wanted to meet me at 5 in the morning for an “audit and drug test” I would have gone. My mom said I could be half

Edit: I am aware now that calling condo fees “unregulated” isn’t the most accurate depiction. Thanks to those who corrected me. I am also aware that all houses require maintenance and repair costs, but given the high cost of some condo fees, I’m suggesting that not all condo fees would be equal to maintenance and repair costs of owning a detached, freehold, or semi detached home.
Edit #2: I did not mean to insinuate that 400k for a detached home is realistic, I just meant that 400k is what we could afford and thus is the reason why condo fees are top of mind for me.

Please be kind, I’m still trying to learn everything I’d need to as a first time home buyer.
I live in a city where housing is currently ridiculously expensive (Ottawa). At this stage, I could only afford a condo. I have $25,000 saved for a down payment and I have a salaried permanent position where I make $86,000 a year. Given there are no detached houses under 400k in my city, all I could afford to buy right now is a condo.
Personally, I really like living in condos. I like having others nearby and the amenities that often come in condo buildings. However, the horror stories I’ve been continuing to hear about the arbitrary raising of condo fees has me very worried about purchasing a condo. These stories are both personal (good friend had hers go from $400 to $800 monthly this year) and some of them are on this thread. As well, some condos that were for sale last year had their condo fees listed at 400$ monthly, but now they are listed at 1200$ a month.
My plan is to hold out for a couple more years to save for a larger down payment or explore moving to a different city where detached housing is not so expensive (it is likely that my job will become permanent WFH in Summer 2022 so this would open up opportunities for moving).
Given the only thing really holding me back from moving forward on purchasing a condo is the condo fees, I’m just wondering if I am really over thinking it or if I really should wait until I can afford a detached home. (To be clear, the only reason I would consider leaving Ottawa once we are permanently WFH is to buy housing. I love this city and would prefer not leave).
For context, I just turned 30 and have no debt. The last pay step of my salaried position is 100K, and will take me 4 more years to reach.
