A list of puns related to "Mummy Based"
I'm watching The Mummy (1999, one of the best flicks ever) and I got to wondering what are some good people horror-focused media centered around mummies? It's never been a terribly popular Monster to use I suppose?
I am looking into building a character for a upcoming game.
We will be playing mummy's mask, build will be 20pt buy.
I mainly want something fun and thematic to the setting. So Indiana Jones with a whip came to mind.
I am aware of the whip guide, but I think bard (archaeologist) fits the theme best. I am worried about not getting AOO trip attacks until much later. So if there is a way to get it earlier and be thematic I am open minded.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The game comes out tomorrow and it looks like a lot of fun. i'm not sure I'll get it immediately as the price seems a little steep, but I'm looking forward to reading reviews and seeing what people think of it. It's based on The Mummy movie which came out earlier this year that everyone's already forgotten about. I think the genre of the game matches the inspiration perfectly, The Mummy was based on the classic movie, so why not base the game on classic games? Anyway, I'd like to hear the thoughts of anyone planning to buy it today or who have already bought it.
EDIT: The game comes out tomorrow (24th) not today.
Seemingly based on a novel from 1855 entitled Mammon- Or, The Hardships of an Heiress, Mummy dust get's it's title from a line in the novel in which it's described that a character must be married to a very hard, cold, powerful lord who is described as being "...as dry as mummy's dust, and as impassive as an iceberg."
Combine this with the Gothic-metropoloton vibe of the album in a dark world which is post-antichrist/hyperindustrialized, and you get a culmination of references and a badass Gothic rock song about greed and avarice. I mean the original author was credited under the name of Mrs. Gore. If this is a coincidence, it's the neatest one I've ever seen.
I am looking for a game where the players are at a lower power level than in DnD 5e. I was thinking Call of cthullu might work for this but I don't want a massive emphasis on investigation and mystery. do you guys know any systems that would be well suited to a rollicking adventure in a low tech/magic world?
It's really happening! On Oct.4, 2018 at the Footlights Theater in Falmouth, Maine will host the world premiere of Some Words with a Mummy - A theater organ-based electro swing opera from composer/drummer Richard deCosta, and librettist Thomas Lane.
The score is most unusual, not just for opera, but for music in general. The "orchestra" consists of the following:
* A 4-manual, 23-rank Barton Theater Organ
* A hybrid jazz traps and electronic drum kit
* An upright bass
* Several synthesizer voices
Although the theater organ alone gives it a rich, eerie sound, when combined with the other instruments, and talented singers on top of it all, the electro swing sound achieved is really quite new!

A Theater organ-based Electro Swing Comic Opera Based on the Story by Edgar Allen Poe
Music by Richard deCosta
Book & Lyrics by Thomas Cleveland Lane
DatesOctober 4-20 Thursdays 7 pm, Fridays 7:30 pm, Saturdays 2 pm and 7:30 pm
SynopsisBaltimore, 1850. A man gets a message from a colleague, inviting him to come and view a genuine ancient mummy. Arriving at his home, they are joined by two other colleagues who administer a good bit of poking, prodding, and electrification. The mummy comes alive and a number of farcical hijinks and tomfoolery takes place. deCosta and Lane have taken outlandish liberties in creating this comic opera, including a score which combines a theater organ and electro swing experience- which is fun, funny and based on one of the few humorous stories Edgar Allen Poe wrote.

The Libretto
As to the libretto, we have, as mentioned, taken a great many liberties with Ed Poeβs prose. The very detailed anthropological and other scientific terminology would be difficult enough, even for a more educated listener, let alone your librettist, who took three foreign languages in high school to get out of taking any more than the bare minimum science requirement.
In order to fill the void created by the absence of hard science, we have inserted massive doses of tomfoolery, which is fitting, since the librettistβs name is Tom. In addition to our many musical japes and jokes, we have expanded upon the character (an unnamed narrator) who starts and ends the story.
First of all, we have given him a name: Throckmorton FitzSpitzenkoff or Fitz, for short. Β Then we gave him a witty and sharp-tongued wife, Rosalita vonDoyberger FitzSpitzenkoff, henceforth referred to simply by her first name. Like her husband, she will be in the first and last scenes of the opera.
One way in which we did stay fai
