A list of puns related to "Mo'orea"
Just arrived in Tahiti - I plan to post things I am learning as we enjoy our time here. This group has been super helpful while we planned our trip so I want to give back to others who are coming this way. Cheers!
Tip #1 - it took us 3 hours to get through immigration! Landed at 4:45 am and did not leave the airport until 7:40.
The taxiโs at faaa are great - cash only.
We were in Tahiti July 16-20 and Moโorea 20-27. What did I learn that could help yaโll?
**be prepared to eat a ton of fish. A ton. **every taxi is $20-40 so I am still on the fence about a rental or not as most places will pick you up and drop off. My advice: have a car rented for 1-2 days in the middle of your trip. Do some of the things you wanted to do but it was too difficult w a taxi. **immigration sucks and takes 2-3 hours so use the bathroom before you exit the plane and have water. **if you are staying in an over water bungalow, cancel most of your exertions. Just enjoy that shit to the max! **use whatโsapp if you can to communicate with businesses **Fare Maheata (4 min walk from the Hilton) was our fav place to eat **make reservations in advance. I donโt like planning everything out that intensely but shiz was full every night. **Sunday - everything closes early **learn a few French phrases. The basicsโฆ
IDK - there is a million things to say about this place, this culture, these people. Traveling during COVID has its challenges but it is worth it.
Happy to answer any questions.
Hello! I am currently working on a branding project for one of my university courses. I have done some research regarding the Island but I would like to hear from people that live or have been there. If you can please tell me about Mo'orean culture, personal experiences, fun facts, etc it would be highly appreciated. :)

#KeepMooreaWild
Have you heard what is happening on the island of Moorea in French Polynesia?
Foreigners are buying up land. They plan on building huge (disgusting) luxury villas.
One new owner is taking a Tahitian girl to COURT for speaking up on social media to protect the island. Another new owner wants to destroy Tema'e beach, build on it, and then privatize blocking all access.
Where is the freedom of speech?
They will destroy the mountains. Landfill the lagoons.
Foreigners will have a new place. The locals will lose their land.
It happened in Hawaii, Aotearoa, Tahiti, and many other islands.
They are being replaced.
