Title says it all. If the CDL doesn't sign Maven & Merk as casters, I want to see as many hate posts & tweets as I saw last week when the news broke that snipers were GA'd. The CDL needs to know what a ridiculous mistake they're making if they don't sign them
Maven & Merk are undoubtedly the best casting duo of the last 4 years (no disrespect whatsoever to Chance and Miles). If they don't sign them, there's clearly some bullshit going on behind the scenes that needs to get called out.
I always see people saying the CDL staff want what's best for the fans, and I'm starting to believe that's complete horseshit. They have yet to show me that they actually care & make decisions that the fans want. They seem just as disconnected as the devs do, it's sad.
What is more, although the majority of this community definitely realise that and are in agreement, I don't think it's even that bad. It's worse that we think, the potential consequences. Among other stuff, purely for the fact we're left with one great casting duo (Chance & Miles). And then.... there's a LOT of blank pages between them and other casting talent. Not even gonna apologize for saying jt bluntly and no matter how fond you are of Lando or Studyy - although improved - they are not even close in terms of casting aspects (yet) and Allycxt and Tunn being put into the mix to try and build chemistry and experience as the potential third pairing...? Really?
And to make things even worse, we're about to watch the absolute abomination of a shit competitive game which pros seem to actually hate more than MW (words I thought for the life of me I'd never say!) I can honestly say that sometimes during MW season, I'd only watch domination because Merk and Maven were casting, other times the game mode was an instant stream hop.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be casting of the matches exclusively, but they could have the pre show like they normally do and then have merk and maven talk over matches with other potential guests on (like TeePee, Formal, Zoomaa, Aches, etc)
I think more people might watch this over the official stream which would be pretty insane.
Just heard Merk say on Teep's stream that he doesn't have a contract for the upcoming season for the CDL
I've been seeing merk put himself forward as a potential content creator for some of the big orgs on twitter. Would that mean he wouldn't be able to cast, I know as of this moment merk and maven haven't signed on.
Any Updates on their contract situation? Have not seen anything for a while on whether they will be casting or not. Have either of them said anything on stream?
The thing about seaside obviously is there is money hills and it's literally this entire map is about who can break and who can hold and if you can't break but you can hold you mmmight be able to contest a little bit but if you can do both i mean you are basically a detrimental person and team on the map
For two men who have been involved for the cod competitive scene an insanely long time, this is disrespectful. Merk has been around since mw2 and was an og optic member who has been casting call of duty for over half a decade and has been an elite analyst for more than that.
Maven has been a staple of the cod scene, him and Jack were the fucking duo during the jetpack era cods and Jack was replaced by Merk when he decided to retire.
For however long the scene has been around, I have seen plenty of neglect and disrespect. But this is shameful that they haven't been given any communication or a single offer by Activision. The world is not fair and I acknowledge that, but to cut corners and disrespect long time community members like this is embarrassing for a company that is being dragged through the mudd. Regardless of how Activision officials feel, you do not treat people like this, especially with job security being at a minimum.
Everyone at Activision right now does not deserve to be there in 5 years when the company finally gets its head out of its ass, and I will stand by that. Abig fuck you to Daniel Tsay and the rest of the higher ups at Activision blizzard from the community for doing fan favorites like this. In no way should this be acceptable behavior from a company even if it is to free Lance employees.
FOR everything this community has gone through the last year to make a decision like this is a slap in the face.
This ultimately isn't fair to Allycat and Tunn, they're going to get unnecessary hate and it will be unwarranted. But I hope they can see it as the community feels like they've been smited again and not them getting hate.
I hope them the best this year, first year casting at the professional level will be rough. Still kind of shocked by it all.
