A list of puns related to "Melius"
My apologies for the mediocre Latin. I'm working hard on improving.
Gratias vobis ago.
In a fascinating under-appreciated research note, the research boutique Melius Research last week picked up coverage of Palantir Technologies stock with a Hold rating and $20 target price. Analyst Carter Copeland typically covers defense and aerospace companies -- as he points out, he is no software analyst. But he writes that he increasingly "bumps into" the data-analytics firm in both the national security realm and "the old economy, where technology is shifting at a rapid pace."
As Copeland laid out in launching coverage, Palantir (ticker: PLTR) has two core software offerings: Gotham for government applications, and Foundry for commercial customers. Both platforms, he writes, "comprehensively tackle data-integration, visualization, and simulation problems for very large, complex organizations through a bottom-up, fully-integrated approach."
He writes that Palantir's software can "unlock staggering amounts of value and enable new capabilities that patchwork software solutions often can't replicate." Copeland notes that Palantir's customers cite savings in the tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars.
Copeland thinks Palantir's government business is "likely misunderstood." He notes that at $610 million in government revenue last year, the company is a tiny player -- it's not even among the top 100 government contractors.
So I and a family member I don't live with were contacted aggressively by Melius Capital Management claiming I would be served with papers for a debt that did not appear on my credit report. When they contacted my family, I returned their call and they informed me that I have a small debt (less than a thousand) with a bank (I don't remember ever having an account for). The address they had on file for me was over 15 years old. A couple red flags already, but I'm trying to make right of my financial past so I was gung ho about dealing with it quickly. When they reached out to my family, it seemed pretty legit.
HOWEVER, after I attempted to make a payment, my bank refused to post the payment. The funds were available, but the bank would not honor the transaction. When I contacted the bank, they informed me that Melius Capital Management had tried to make a cash advance on my card. While talking to the bank, they informed me that there were a total of three cash advance attempts, even though the Melius agent I spoke with said he would try to run it only once.
Like I said, I'm trying to make right of my financial past so I have a financial counseling company. I reached out to them to investigate further and they informed me that there was no debt on my account for the bank Melius claimed, no total of debt in the amount they claimed, and there was no record of my debt being handed to a company with such name. I was advised to cease communications and if they sent any documentation, to forward it to the counseling company for further investigation.
I get a new card number and put it past me.
Next day, Melius calls me back, very polite and we discuss our conversation from yesterday. I politely inform the agent about the whole "cash advance" x 3 thing and the guidance from my counselor as well as the information provided. This is where the agent loses it and tells me "There's no such thing as a cash advance" as well as "your banker is lying," "your financial counselor is lying," and "your banker is lying to you, your financial counselor is lying to you, or you're trying to evade payment." As well as threatening to serve me papers (even though the address they had was 15 years old), claiming that I probably don't have any money, and telling me "we can call the bank right now on conference" but not actually doing it.
I admit that I was a schmuck and felt pressure from them contacting my family, the potential reality and pressure made everything seem legit,

Melius promisses salary in the 6 digits luxury car and houses, but loses money because of the fees and membership. AMF is warning people to not do business with Melius. Does some of you have stories with BeFactor/Melius? I would like to hear them!!!!! :)

In the context of my translation, I sort of understand it to mean "if this (ie. the following advice) is not much better, nevertheless...", but I'm not confident about that. Is this a standard phrase in ancient/medieval rhetoric?
The eager crowd stands by, clutching their colourful ribbons and banners which they will cast into the Spring Festival bonfire for luck. At the top of the stairs in front of the castle, the emperor announces that this year will be different. The bonfire won't just be fuelled by wood and ribbons, it will be fuelled by Books of Magic. The guards attempt to light the pyre, but the torch is blown out by a wind. And again. And again. As the guards stand confused, a massive illusory fire appears above the pile of books and wood, and a hooded figure appears, announcing; "If you reject this crusade against magic, take these books and flee to the east!" Chaos erupts in the crowd.
Our halfling warlock dashes effortlessly through the crowd to roll a d4 to see how many books she can grab from the unlit pyre. Alas, she rolled a 1 and escaped with this homebrew title.

It's pretty recent but just got a Zoom invite from an high school friend and all the blablabla was pretty funny ngl ! Looks like it's circulating in the Caribbean looking by previous posts about it here.
I already suggested it to be added to the list but I'm just surprise. Is it still too early ?
I just did a quick search and is there no way to report it in blacklist right now ? I only saw it on unofficial "avoid" firms lists
Hello,
TL;DR at the bottom.
A little bit of context first. I am a first year student at HEC Lausanne in Switzerland, which basically is a business bachelor, and have been doing fairly well for myself.
In fact, I have been helping the students in my section with their problems with the material, which ranges from calculus to macroeconomics. I have generated a bit of attention towards myself, as people have been contacting me directly for help, and coming to my desk during breaks between classes.
Now, with the coronavirus, things have settled down, since first year students have basically done f*ck-all with online classes (which doesn't change from usual business), so I have had less activity in that domain.
However, I have been approached yesterday by a classmate (I know his face, but apparently people know me better than I know them, I'm more towards the anti-social type). In fact, he called me on my phone number (which isn't secret in the section, since I am in the Whatsapp group) to tell me about a "business opportunity" (which didn't strike me as a "hun" at first) because I am great at what I do, and that it could be "financially exploited". He proposed to meet me at 8:30PM to talk about it, tomorrow.
I thought to myself "cool, it's probably about tutoring people or selling my notes, so why not, free money".
It was strange though, because usually at that time, you go out with friends or you get kidnapped, and I don't have that many friends.
Skip to today, where he contacted me again, saying that it was a company called "Melius", which apparently has no seat in Switzerland, no site, no financial statement, nothing. However, typing it into google gave me only shady stuff. There is an article defending it from the accusations that it is an MLM, which isn't a great sign either.
Now, I've been following this sub for a while, and thank god it struck a warning light. I just wanted to know if any of you has worked or known that company, but it apparently operates in France, so it's a bit limited. I would love some advice going forward, except "don't go there", which I won't.
I really didn't expect to get drafted by someone else than your typical stay at home mom.
TL;DR : I have been approached by a company called "Melius", and wanted to know if anyone heard of it.
Its a plague in my country, Costa Rica. They work exactly like iMarketsLive where they sell Forex Trading Courses and I did some research and 2 guys of the top of the piramid were from OneCoin, that sketchy crytocurrency ponzi scheme. Its growing a lot in my country and im worried, they always target low income towns and their insta stories are just trying to be flashy saying they win 8000$ a month. Just ranting and pissed thats all.
So back in my home country there's a new MLM called Melius, based on Forex Trading, don't really know that much about them but they have like really bigger IG 'influencers' promoting this to a large part of the low income population, does anyone know anything about them? The founders also claim to be in Forbes Middle East but you can clearly see that it was paid for on the website. https://www.forbesmiddleeast.com/leadership/spotlight/leaders-in-innovation
###ABOUT US###
The Melius SMP server was conceptualized and founded by TeaferToo and Jospence. They reached out to some friends, and a server was planned and eventually created. Since then, frequent application waves were done, which further solidified the community and allowed for more interaction and for the possibility of making new friends!
The Melius SMP server will be undertaking on a new, ambitious project -- we are starting our second season, with an interesting twist added to it. This twist will be fully explained on the next topic.
The reset is going to happen on the 13th of October. Until then, the server will stay in its current Season 1 world.
###SEASON 2 TWIST###
The twist is that we are going to use NATIONS.
Our players will be split into two different landmasses, competing head to head in trying to prove their nation is the best. We will hold occasional server-wide events, like wars or olympics events, and interactions between the members of a nation is extremely encouraged.
A picture of the seed can be seen here!
The nation to the north is named Kahale, after the hawaiian word for both "wood" and "house". The nation to the south is named Vinex, a modified version of the latin word "vindex", which means "champion".
Bases are meant to go inside of each respective nation.
New members will be randomly sorted into the pre-existing nations, although there will be a possibility of switching nations in the future.
Nation Switching
a) Nation switching will only be available for a week after any World War. World Wars will be detailed under this point.
b) A member can only switch nations if a member of the other nation is willing to switch with them, or your current nation has more members than the nation you're switching to.
c) Once you switch, you cannot go back to the nation you have left.
d) If you switch nations, everything you owned in a previous nation will not go with you. This includes any valuables, weapons, armor, tools, etc. Your enderchest must be completely cleared out, and all items will be split amongst the nation you left upon their discretion.
World Wars
The World Wars are an occasional server event that will involve both nations in a direct confrontration. The world will be backed up prior to the event, and restored back once the event is over.
Wars will generally happen around every three mont
