A list of puns related to "Mainland Europe"
I moved to Germany about a year ago (at the same time when I got into 40k).
At my current LGS, I can find people to play casual games 2-3 times a month, but, in the new year, I want to start getting involved in the more competitive side of the hobby.
How do people search for events in mainland Europe? Most of the online resources I can find focus on the US and UK.
I live in west Germany (NRW), so I can easily travel to neighboring countries for big events (Netherlands, Belgium, France, etc) but I'd also like to find something local to practice.
I know already about T3. Is the website reliable? It looks super dated.
Also, are people in tournaments in Germany open to communicate in English during tournament matches? My German is not yet good enough to understand 40k rules etc
Any additional resources or advice on how to get into competitive 40k in Germany would be super helpful!
(PS I just reposted because I forgot the flair.)
Was the period of 1814 to 1914 on mainland Continental Europe really a period of "Long Peace" as suggested by historians and IR theorists, excluding the Italian Wars of Unifications, the Crimean War or some other war in the Balkans?
Or was it a case of the nations on continental Europe expanding their strength on other parts of the world in colonial expansion?
Or do you just write them in English? I live and study in the Philippines and we write our proofs in English.
I'm curious about this because I am currently studying German, and it might be a nice exercise to try to read and write proofs in German.
I sometimes read, both in history books and in online readings, that economists and historians consider the economy of Europe, right before World War One, to be incredibly integrated, which was why World War One is sometimes used as an example of why close economic interdependent relations do not necessarily lessen the risk of war.
On the other hand, I also read that the countries and nation-states of Europe also functioned with a high degree of protectionism, especially those with overseas colonies.
I was wondering if there had been any new research or progress regarding this topic.
I could travel to Denmark tomorrow for Β£23 but the cheapest plane to Edinburgh/Belfast is Β£25 (booked in advance).
London to Liverpool is Β£56 (2hr 32m) London to Leeds is Β£37.60 or Β£56.50 (2hr 16m) London to Paris is Β£52 (2hr 16m by train)
England to Wales is going to be more then Β£25 (if youβre not near the borders)
Involving whole communities and abided by lawkeepers.
So I'm in Spain and would like to buy 2 sets of ClarkPads for the Inmotion V11. The only vendor I see carrying them is in Britain (e-rides) and therefore I'd pay customs charges. Plus they sell them for β¬167.99 which is nearly $200! Add Spanish customs and I probably would plunk down $500 total for both sets. A bit insane for foam pads wouldn't you agree?
Do you guys know a vendor in mainland Europe that carries them? I would save a lot of money that way. Or is there a 3D model of the ClarkPads (not any of the others) I can have printed somewhere? Would still set me back quite a bit as I don't have a 3D printer but I'd be happy as long as I got close to the original purchase price.
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
does anyone of you know about any transatlantic sailing cruise from Europe to Rio de Janeiro?
I'd like to travel to Brazil in a sustainable way, so I'm avoiding flying and normal cruises with highly polluting vessels.
I've found quiet hard to find those informations online. There are some sailing cruises that go to Rio de Janeiro, but they depart from Cabo Verde ... And I would also need to find another sailing cruise that goes there.
Thanks!
Perhaps there is a well known logical explanation to this so apologies if the question is dumb. But I donβt understand why in the UK you can find a nice selection of used cars for very good prices while in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, etc., the same cars cost +50-100% more.
The only explanation I could came up with is that being RHD, British cars have no export market whereas used LHD cars have a big demand from Eastern Europe, Turkey, etc.
Today i noticed it was a lovely sunny day where I live (Luxembourg). I also noticed that it was 13 degrees as opposed to the 30 degrees it would have been if it were July. What is the reason behind that?
What do you guys think? If sex work were made totally legal, and social nudity was more widely accepted, do you think we'd have more or fewer problems with things like stalking, spying, sexual assault, sexual harassment, peeping toms, and other bad things like that?
(Mine opinion, please comment if youβre agree but please do if you donβt). Mainland Europe JWβs are having a extremely difficult time to motivate their kids to be a part of meetings. Motivate them for school is already difficult enough! Even with the current easement of regulations. Inmagine their generation not to get baptized. They just βlolledβ in my wifes face when noah brought up. A whole generation just to discard and see the lies of the GB (hatefull 8) stems me hopefull! Oh dear jehokebaber with garlicsauce if theyβd would have any interest in history. Let them read about Gilgamesh and other historical events, true or not. A hopefull pimo dad!!
I'm in UK and happy to read any era, and if I can track down a translation of a non English book very happy to do that. I love mainland Europe and all its cities and countries and countryside and just am itching for something to conjour up the feeling of Wonder streets.
Anything that was similar that wasn't necessarily Europe considered also.
Hi, I'm on a gap year and because work is breaking up for a week or so in a bit, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for hitchhiking in mainland Europe.
Hi everyone, I am based in Italy and looking for ways to watch The Hundred men's competition legally and I can't seem to find anything. I think all matches from women's competition are being shown on Sky sports cricket YouTube channel where only a couple of games from men's competition will be shown.
ECB are surely missing out on revenue by just ignoring the whole European market altogether. I for example would have happily paid to watch recently concluded Pakistan tour of England. India England test series is also something I'm extremely interested in watching.
In Germany The Hundred is being shown on Sky Sports .de apparently. No such luck for us living in Italy. If any of you have any info, please let me know.
