A bit of background: I've had a Note 2 since last April and while I initially used it quite a bit I lost interest because it was too heavy for daily use and the screen was still a bit too small for PDFs with my glasses prescription (I know, the Max series is even heavier, but I might live with it if I could actually see what I'm reading). I bought it for 420 British Pounds, which in April 2020 was a good price.
Fast forward to today: I found a deal for a new Note Air which I snapped up because the price was so low (285 British pounds). I like the Note Air more (it's heavier than the Note 2 but then I don't need to use the cover which adds a lot of weight and thickness to Note 2) and it feels better in the hand. However, the frontlight is really uneven on the Note Air vs Note 2, and I've read that the eink screen is more fragile on the Air vs Note 2 because of its glass substrate.
Your Advice Please
I could resell the Note 2 for about 200-250 British pounds (yep that devalued fast), or the Note Air for about 350 British pounds (because of the low price I found it for). The Max Lumi is 760 British pounds, but I know I could actually read PDFs if I bought the 13.3" A4 device. What should I do?

My lumi came after waiting 2 months (like most everybody). played it for 10 minutes turned it off and now it wont turn back on. I hoped the company could get this right but apparently not. I had a seaboard with sticking keys they had to send me 3 before one worked. Ive been an engineer sound designer for 30 years this has been the worse experience. Great Idea. Bad tech. IF Im doing something wrong and I hope I am, I will write an apology but a switch is a switch and based on the last support they spent more time making a lame excuse for loosing my support ticket than fixing the issue so I dont have a lot of faith.
I bought the LUmi and got it in the mail last night. Powered it up and played around with it and was actually quite delighted in how well it works. Went to bed with it plugged into my laptop, and woke up to find it not powering up at all anymore. Anyone know any ideas about this, as I've heard ROLI Support can take a while.
Hi everyone! Looking for some advice on what I should do with my gears.

(This lumi is my first character....after reading some posts, I realised I made a lot of rank up/enhancement mistakes lol)

Weapon: Got Jaihin from a lucky fuse (non-pba), made the mistake of not enhancing to higher sf before fusing...(has unique potential: crit dmg 4% and max hp 0.8%)
- Do I continue to try and enhance with scrolls and fuse for mythic? or work on higher star unique weap > fuse to legendary and then fuse again with this for mythic?
(FYI: also working on a pba jaihin on the side, currently unique rank 15 stars - non-emblem though)
Armour:
Hat & Shoes - Are from maple adventure box....eventually realised how hard it is to enhance without breaking (used all my legendary restoration scrolls and the black one on these) TT, so working on new epic and unique gears from scratch for higher sf.
- For hat - Is it better to invest in enhancing a unique muspell to fuse later on or wait for a legendary zakum helm drop from czak?
Shoulder - Also made the noob mistake of ranking up too early...I guess it's careful enhancing with scrolls now. For later stages, is it fuse to mythic? or rank up?
Belt- 1. Do base stats matter? (out of all the unique boss belts I have, the one have equipped has the lowest base stat T T)
- Is it better to invest in a non-boss belt to fuse to mythic or keep enhancing the zakum belt now?
Accessories: (still working on getting more boss drops)
My main question with this is do base stats matter? I have already enhanced a ht ring with base stat of 113, do I continue enhancing or start again/wait until I get one with higher base stats?
Other than this, I just want to say enhancing is a pain. I have broken so many gears and spent so much mesos on transferring/restoring it, not to mention when it degrades.... T T People say not to use scrolls until 17/18....how do you do it?? (The highest sf I have gotten is 16...and that is with the free scrolls given lol)

I was told the PDF margin cropping is not there when viewing 2 pdf pages at once in landscape. No zoom also.
I think it's also removed in app split screen mode too.
Can anyone confirm under v3.1?
Wow. So I bought the Lumi specifically for reading and dumped a few dozen books on it that I read with Neoreader. I purchased a few books on Kindle and Nook so I put those apps on the device and use those when I need to. Everything was going along fine until I had to go for an appointment and brought my Kindle Oasis with me to read while waiting.
What a shocker. The Lumi's screen is so weak compared to the Kindle. I did not notice this when I first got the Lumi and have been reading exclusively on that for months now. When I got home, I pulled out my Kobo Forma and opened a random book. Again, the quality of the text on the screen was night and day. It's so much crisper and clearer on those devices than on the very expensive Lumi.
In the Neoreader app on the Lumi at least, there is an "embolden" option for the font so I increased that and it improved some but the crispness is just not there. Unfortunately, the Kindle and Nook apps have no such options and it's simply a matter of increasing or decreasing font size and adjusting margins and the like so I'm stuck with it as is.
Just throwing that out there. I love the Lumi and will continue to read on it but the difference in quality versus other e-readers is huge.

Just found this out;
Like Pia has a radar for Holy Nation, or Miu has a radar for spiders;
It appears the unique recruit Lumi has a radar for crabs.
She's a unique recruit that you can get of all places, in the crab town where the queen is.
When a crab nest or similar is near, she says lines like: "Pretty little thing aren't ya!" and so on, alerting you to nearby crabs. Not sure how useful it is, I've not had many run-ins with crabs.
Update 6/22/21: Roli contacted me and said many users have reported a similar issue. They have asked if I can wait a bit while they try to figure it out. I've sent them my information in an attempt to help. Unfortunately I do believe this to be a hardware issue and not software but we will see.
Initial Post:
This is promising. I just received 2 Lumi Keys and a Lightpad Block. Initially I had both Lumi Keys in-sync and functioning out of the box. Of course they were charged minimally so one eventually died. I let them sit there a while on the chargers and notice one was not turning on. Sure enough, as soon as I plug in the power, I do not see the green light kick on. Please note, the other Lumi is now 100% and the second Lumi won't even take any power. I swapped cables, charging devices and nothing. I went to the support section and all they can do is RMA.
This is my day 1 experience and I see someone else in this subreddit had the same issue. Anyone else in a similar boat? I imagine it'll take months before I receive my next one. Abysmal.

Edit: Just an update. It's been 2 days. I've just left it plugged in, never seeing the green light. I unplugged it and it turned on...what? I plugged it back in, it's at 94% (2 days of charging btw). I unplugged it and turned it off. I was unable to turn it back on. I plugged it in, no green light, unable to turn it back on. I then unplugged it, and it turned on immediately. Plugged it back in and it's recognized on the PC. Currently I can ONLY turn this on, when I UNplug the device.

Edit 2: Now it wont turn on again. Obviously faulty. I was even successful in getting off the firmware update. At least I know it's fully charged. Some type of bad soldering job I imagine.

Edit 3: It's just sporadic at this point. If I fiddle around enough I can get it on. The other Lumi Keys is absolutely fine. I'll continue with the return process.

Edit 4: Anyone with an RMA check your ticket status? The site claims I do not have a ticket in place, despite receiving an email with a ticket number. This feels like a really half assed company winging their first products.

Edit 5: Went to their "forums". Last post was 3 months ago. I attempted to make a thread. After completing and submitting, the thread never showed up. Looks like forums are in an archive mode. I'm dying to know if I can get my hands on the track at 26mins. This is seriously one of the best trance track I have heard in my life.
For a long time I wanted to have an electronic ink device that had Android and could be used as a monitor. Traditional LCDs with LEDs give me sensitivity like most of you, while in the basic Kindle I have (the most recent) I do not have any discomfort and I can spend hours and hours reading with it. So I decided to buy the Onyx Boox Lumi. I've had it for days and it has quite good qualities. But I see 2 drawbacks:
- If you use it as a monitor, the battery runs out very quickly.
- When reading in it I feel that I have some discomfort. It's something that does not happen to me with the Kindle. I have noticed that the Kindle has a whiter background than the Onyx Boox Lumi. So I think it may be because of that.
Do you know if other Onyx Boox devices have a whiter background like the Kindle? The Boox Nova 3 or the Poke 3 maybe? Do you think that the white of the screen can be related to the type of screen (Carta, Carta Plus, Mobius…)? Or could it be more related to the note layer?
My main reason for buying the Max Lumi was its capability to connect with HDMI and the "Monitor"-app as an external screen to my laptop, to allow me to work outside in the sunshine. This works pretty well, except that I can only choose 16:9 modes (e.g. 1920x1080), giving me just a narrow strip of my nice A4-sized tablet to work on.
Does anyone know how to get the Max Lumi to connect with the full 2200x1650 resolution, or the recommended 1400x1050 resolution (which still gives me the full screen to work on)? I am running Ubuntu 20.04.
I have tried adding the modes using xrandr, following the instructions here: https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2017/04/custom-screen-resolution-ubuntu-desktop/ However, while I can switch to the new modes, it just gives me a garbled screen until it switches back to the old resolution. Any help with this would be extremely highly appreciated!
