The full second-day testimony from The Satanic Temple's 2020 federal district court bench trial over not being able to deliver an invocation in Scottsdale was recently made available to the public. You can check the full docket for yourself.
In hindsight, the most important portion of that day was probably what the acting city manager testified to. What he said and didn't say is what lost TST its case (which TST went on to lose on appeal as well earlier this year).
However, the cross-examination of Douglas Alexander Misicko by Scottsdale's attorney is really something on its own, and confirms a ton about The Satanic Temple a lot of people already knew. When Greaves is confronted about the realities of The Satanic Temple, erm, United Federation of Churches LLC, erm The Satanic Temple Inc, the kindest way to characterize it would be that Greaves responds poorly.
He claims not to know anything about the way the two organizations with the same name operate, despite one being a for-profit corporation founded in 2014, the other being a nonprofit created in 2018 that got IRS recognition as a church in 2019. He contradicts past statements by TST and his own earlier deposition. Inconvenient reminders about how the pink mass was initially characterized or his teabagging Fred Phelps' mother's gravestone are not able to be dodged or blocked or dogpiled on social media. And the answers he's forced to give are not good.
The bright spot for TST is that the Scottsdale attorney misidentifies one of the hidden figures in the "Hail Satan?" documentary as "Malcolm Jarry", which is embarrassing. Additionally, hinging their case on TST's atheism meaning it was an invalid religion was also foolish.
But it honestly seems like one of the biggest barriers to The Satanic Temple ever being successful in a court case anywhere is the stuff that's been documented all along: it was a prank documentary that got rolled into a religion, and they've been adding to it

So I'm sure some of you have seen this article, as it's been posted multiple time on the other satanic sub and got me a bit worried. Based on the seven tenets and the activism of TST, I always assumed that BLM, AntiFa and TST would go hand in hand.
But now that I've read this about Lucien Greaves, I'm not sure I want to associate myself with the temple anymore. Could anyone shed some light on this? Is it true?
They use religious protections in law to campaign against religious discrimination and violations of bodily autonomy. It's such a good idea and their tenets ring true to my experience and beliefs. If I align with any religion, it's the Satanic Temple.
I think there's a lot they could do in Utah, and if I still lived there, I'd try to start a chapter. Maybe they could propose alternate activities for Released Time, since the only thing Utah schools "release" you to do is go to seminary.

I'm trying to find a particular interview (or podcast) that featured Lucien Greaves. I watched it a while ago and I wanted to revisit it, but now I've lost track of it. Perhaps someone here will recognise it and point me in the right direction.
I recall, at one point during the discussion, Lucien makes a statement that went something like -- "....,well, that fucking door is open now!".

I guess a better way to word that would have been “Is it likely that I will ever get to meet Lucien Greaves.”
I listened to a podcast that Lucien Greaves old friend Shane Bugbee put out. All I can say is wow. In some ways in confirms what I suspected about Lucien, but it’s still kind of crazy. I have no stake in the whole feud between TST and COS so my post isn’t about that. I actually like many things that Greaves and TST has done, but I hope current or future TST members know what they are dealing with.
The story about him secretly recording conversations is messed up.
