I’m a experienced roleplayer (21m) with both dnd and online roleplaying in general but this will be my first time dming properly. I tried to play this setting with a couple of my friends beforehand but this didn't turn out well so I wanted to try again with some new people.
The game’s schedule is mostly set to be either on the weekends, Mondays or Wednesdays, 8pm-12pm (Eastern standard time). These dates and times can be tweaked but I’d prefer playing during the night time. We’ll only be using discord for this game.
This campaign is mostly homebrewed and set in the Warrior Cats universe, which is a low fantasy world with little to no magic where cats have organized themselves into four clans with their own specific cultures and worship the same religion (Don’t think of Zootopia- these are more like your average house cats than furries. Think something more like Bambi or Lady and the Tramp.)
It’s not needed to know the material or have read the books before hand. This game will only be using the basic outline of the world.
I’ll provide references for the lore and the book I am using does a good references for how things operate so don’t worry about jumping in blind.
Campaign setup:
Not too many years ago, Shadowclan and Windclan were suddenly struck with severe famine for reasons beyond their control. The Shadow and Windclan leaders came to the well fed River and Thunder leaders, asking for help but were refused help. Desperate to feel their clan mates’ hungry mouths and running out of options, Shadow and Wind decided to try and take what they needed by force. This caused a war to break out with Wind and Shadowclan united against Thunder and Riverclan’s forces.
While they did get the prey they hoped for, they also lost lots of their loved ones and allies. After a few months, all four clans started to see significant losses. Seeing the dead rise in their camps made all four leaders rethink this war they raged against one another.
In the end, all four leaders came to a ceasefire. They promised to share prey and hunting territory for the next year and ordered that warriors treated each other friendlier. No punishments were given out to specific clans or cats as an attempt to quell the flames.

all day long I see people speaking out against racism, homophobia, sexism etc etc. these people see themselves as so progressive and welcoming to everyone. which would be great! if it was the truth. those people are actually massive liars to themselves. they only give a crap if the lives that are being abused are human. "black/`womens/trans lives matter!" they chant while chomping down on the murdered carcass of an abused cow.
I'm a feminist, I'm all for anti racism and anti homophobia, but I'm also for the rights of animals. every creature alive is entitled to the right to not live in fear or be harmed. so whenever I see someone on Instagram preaching about the rights of women, POC or LGBT, people, when I know they eat meat, I can't help but think they are massive hypocrites.
edit;; another thing I just thought about, these humans rights preachers expect people to change so that others feel more comfortable/safer. but those same people refuse to change so that animals feel more comfortable/safer. lol
