A list of puns related to "Lamborghini Huracan"
So I got the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini Evo at a closed circuit track with the assistance of a coach in the passenger seat. It was an Xtreme Xperience....well, experience. We did 3 laps around the 2 mile long track at Atlanta Motorsports Park. It was my first time driving anything with more than 330 HP.
One thing that you initially notice is that you have to manage your throttle a lot more than in other cars. 610 HP in a 3,600 lb car is a lot of power, and a third of the throttle accelerates the car about as hard as a full throttle push in a Civic. The acceleration is unreal.
Another thing you notice is that the car has an insane amount of grip. Like, it's pretty unreal. Even going through corners at only 30 MPH, you can feel the car staying glued to the floor, which is even more amazing considering that the car didn't have a whole lot of aerodynamic devices (no rear wing, a reasonably sized front splitter, a relatively small rear diffuser, no dive planes). Those tires are absolutely no joke.
The chassis and suspension is firm and stiff. Absolutely no roll in the car.
But - and this is a big but - I never felt like I could fully appreciate the car. For one, they're expensive, and I normally drive like a mad man when I'm behind the wheel on twisty turns. When it's your own car - particularly a relatively cheap beater - you can push it, because you know you can pay for the damages, or even a new car. I can't do that with a Huracan, so as you're driving, accelerating in and out of those turns, it was always in the back of my mind that "this is not my car! This is not my car! This is not my car!". Secondly, Xtreme Xperience has pretty hefty fines for touching the curb; iirc, it's $300 for touching the curb, $500 for two wheels, and $500 or knocking over guide cones. That's a lot of money for a college student. Again, I don't mind going through turns aggressively; I've gone through sharp 60 degree turns at 60 MPH in my Civic before. But again, that's with MY CAR. I'm not running the risk of incurring a $1,000 charge because I knocked over a few cones.
It was an overall fun experience, but I feel like I will only be able to appreciate a car like that once (or if) I'm able to ever own one for myself.
