Other than the title, there’s not much else I can add to the text box except express my anger and outrage that I felt when I found out that there were idiots who watched episode 4 of Falcon and the Winter soldier and thought to themselves “damn I really hate this John Walker character. The way he beat a violent extremist to death with the tip of captain America’s shield makes me want to contact the actor that portrayed the Character on screen, and threaten him and his loved ones just because I didn’t like what I saw.”

-We can get to hype up John Wall's return for, like, a week.

Cons:

-The Lakers might improve.

-Russ might also be a little sad.

One of my favorite films as a kid was Big Trouble in Little China. It performed poorly in theaters but is often called a cult classic.

The first time I watched it I fell in love immediately.

I found the commentary featuring Kurt Russell and John Carpenter in my late twenties or early thirties. I was just devastated, but in a good way, because it completely changed the way I saw the film (contains spoilers).

• The movie was originally supposed to be "MYSTICAL MARTIAL ARTS" meets "WILD WEST." But someone from the studio modernized it at the last minute, stripping out the "cowboy" elements altogether, thinking it would connect better with audiences that way. It did not. The movie is set in 1980s San Francisco. But so many things in the film make more sense as a "Big-Screen Brisco County Jr. in San Francisco" instead. From time to time I go over it in my head.
  • Like the fight scene in the alley where the Chinese gangs shoot each other with machine guns AND THEN they bust out the martial arts? That would've made sense with six-shot revolvers, sure. Not machine guns. With automatic weapons you just... reload the clip.
  • Jack Burton's disappearance at the end of the film might have worked in pre-trucker America, when it was easy to ride off into the sunset, but not when you're wanted for questioning in connection with an act of domestic terrorism that destroyed half a city block.
  • There's a female reporter character who is obtusely naive and overly-sheltered, and a fiery women's-lib character named Gracie Law (played by Kim Cattrall) who is so recognizable for helping the Chinese immigrant community that she can't risk being seen helping Jack in China Town ("I know," he says. "There's a problem with your face"). These characters might have worked better as classic "citified women" Western stereotypes, but in the modernized adaptation they didn't fully track. A super-famous human-rights advocate can't find a real reporter to come with her to China Town? Maybe in the 1880s that made sense.
  • There's an early scene where gang members walk right into the airport, lounge around the terminal, and then kidnap a woman, dragging her kicking and screaming outside through the parking lot while assaulting civilians and waiving around weapons. No security or police intervene, at the airport or along the freeway. Sure it's pre-9/11 but it's still San Francisco. The scene would make a lot more sense if it looked like a Wild West shipyard, where

To evoke such a widespread hatred of a character across the fan base is a testament to the acting. Long winded, cascading dialog, quoting scripture to fit their needs, the hostile hospitality, and never back down self righteousness was just brilliant.

I was trying to be aware of the techniques used and still caught myself with the Tiger King screaming in my brain: "That bitch Beverly Keene!".

Just brilliant.
