A list of puns related to "Joe Sacco"
People are saying they want Joe Sacco fired just because the powerplay is struggling lately. It can be seriously frustrating how reactionary you guys are without even attempting to do any research to back up your snap judgements.
In 2021 Joe Sacco is currently coaching a tight race for the #1 PK in the league. The PP currently is close to average at 17th.
Here's what the PP looked like in the past few seasons:
2016-2017 - 7th in the league
2017-2018 - 4th in the league
2018-2019 - 3rd in the league
2019-2020 - 2nd in the league
Here's what the PK looked like in the past few seasons:
2016-2017 - 1st in the league
2017-2018 - 3rd in the league
2018-2019 - 17th in the league
2019-2020 - 3rd in the league
Anytime since 2016 that either special team has dropped below top 5 in the league, the other special team was in the top 3. I would also like to point out just how great last season's special teams were. 2nd and 3rd in the league is nothing short of phenomenal.
Has this issue been discussed here? If so, what's the consensus? Or does anyone even give a shit?
Also, Paul Carey and Chris Wagner are Bruins.
EDIT: Informal poll of responses, so far...
ROR = 8
Sacco = -16
Bruins = 5
Doesn't give a shit = 1
You are the change agent this nation needs.
2008 should have been a wake up call for all of us. Not a damn thing has changed. Its time we out these wall street bankers and their political poodles.
I am glad this issue (of speech transcripts) is not being swept under the rug. Clinton did a masterful job of avoiding it and putting the burden on others. Typical politician.
IAMA Joe Sacco, please.
We all need to thank Joe for keeping the issue alive. Way to go Joe!!!
I'm currently working on some creative writing involving combat journalists in conflicts in the developing world, set in the late 90's and early 2000's.
I really enjoy Joe Sacco's non-fiction graphic novels (The Fixer: A story from Sarajevo and Safe Area Goradze) about his time in the Balkans and in Palestine. In tv media, I like Simon Ostrovsky's coverage of the conflicts in Ukraine, and Sebastian Junger/Tim Hetherington's Restrepo.
While not strictly journalism-centric, I also got quite a bit of inspiration from Babylon's Ark, which talks about a South African man going in alone during the invasion of Iraq to save the Baghdad Zoo and which features several Coalition characters as well as private military contractors from South Africa and worldwide. Also, I survived reading Romeo Dallaire's Shake Hands with the Devil, which definitely gave me some interesting perspectives on international involvement in these conflicts.
What are some similar works that I might find useful, as well as essential works in combat journalism and coverage of post-Cold War conflicts? I'm also looking for works that discuss peacekeepers, the use of mercenaries in these conflicts, as I would like to incorporate realistic mercenary characters, information fixers, etc. among other types. Bonus points for being set in the Balkans, the Global War on Terror, or conflicts in sub-Saharan Africa like the Congo Wars.
