A list of puns related to "Intellectual Funny"
Like no one is saying Two and a half men or big bang theory have any deep meaning but does it need it? They simply have gags that made me laugh. I believe everyone has laughed at them and they don't admit it cause they feel bad about it.
You know essentially they're just long sketches with the same characters. Yeah sure after the 10th season it gets boring. But for much of their runtime sitcoms are legit funny.
Also before the 2000's no one even hated on sitcoms in the first place. I guess with the emergence of so called "quality tv" people just want to seperate themselves from the old.
But come on they have their charm. SImply, shut out brain stuff for after a long day.
They always like to boast how members or converts (even tho they hate that wird for whatever reason) only stay in the truth because they "have studied and know this is the truth unlike people of christendom who only stay because they are either born in or because of tradition"....
Well, hate to break the news to them but thats exactly what 99% of witnesses do.
Probe any witness about obvious logical fallacies in their doctrines and they will fall into the exact same faith based, "I believe because I believe" reasoning as any other denomination of christianity.
Also, I can't count the number of times I heard stoties of people who converted basically say they became a witness because they met a brother/sister they liked or they were cool with the person they were studying with or the congregation they are apart of always does stuff together.
And now, with these zoom meetings, its becoming even more apparent that "meetings" are more about socializing than what the information is because now, a lot of witnesses are either not tuning is as frequently or are just simply not as engaged as before.
Yes some of them are trash regardless, but the rage-comic-esque ones where both parties are male are no less funny than the ones with girls. We could still keep the jokes going but under a slightly less sexist form.
I am not sure what I myself mean by intellectual humour, but many I know call BoJack Horseman's humour intellectual. Same goes for South Park and Rick and Morty to the lesser degree.
Yes, I get the jokes. No, I don't think I missed anything. Yes, I am pretty damn sure that I got all of the joke, reference, metajokes, post-irony or whatever else it's called. No, it didn't make me laugh. Yes, I think constantly saying how ridiculously genius, absolutely mind-blowing, sly, smart, great, woke this humor is is pretentious. I refuse to believe something mildly entertaining to me can be so mind blowing to someone else, I think pretentiousness is more likely than subjective nature of humour.
Trying to find some friends that I can have serious and fun conversations with.
27/F I don't care what gender you are, but I would prefer to talk to people around my age
If you are a young person looking for advice for your future, I can also offer that.

Someone posted about hating Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory and it got me thinking about a lot of shows that share a similar trait.
There are MANY shows that play on lowest common denominator jokes and no viewer understands every punchline. It makes the show feel forced. There is rarely even set up for these jokes to take place and the delivery is flat.
You have The Big Bang Theory where they'll make obscure jokes about their proffession that only people in that proffession will understand. Yet since they said a word you're familiar with or brought up a concept you understood you laugh at it just because you "get it". Of course when a different character starts delivering their smart guy jokes about a different subject they'll fly way over your head, but you don't notice that because you're so proud of yourself for understanding every one out of five jokes. It's plot has no character development other than every character seemingly becoming more arrogant.
You have Rick and Morty, where they'll make jokes out of fictional science, but because of its wild nature somehow people are attached to it like a religion or something. These jokes are actual nonsense with throwbacks to previous episodes and random dark humor. A lot of people think that because this show is "edgy" if they like it that it makes them cool. Most of the episodes don't make any sense, they're full of plotholes, and just because you comprehend how a fictional "Plumbus" is made doesn't make you superior to other people.
One that really gets me as well is Archer. A lot of Archers humor is based off of the characters delivering lines in multiple languages throughout a season. You'll have a full season of one language then they'll randomly switch to an entire episode in German or Spanish. Jokes fly out of the blue. They could be having a conversation about Russian espionage and someone chimes in with "La tortuga comen manzanas!?" and thats the joke. It has no set-up. Yet if you can understand that sentence somehow it's funny. Additionally they will run a joke over... And over ... And over again. Completely ignoring the rule of three's. (Repeating the same joke more than three times makes it not funny), but they'll scream "DANGER ZONE!" Fifty times and try to turn it into a meme. This one gets me in particular because the show has such diverse and interesting characters and story set up, but a lot of screen time is wasted on stale repeat jokes, random language changes for apparently no reason
