Illumina lost 1st by 3.65 seconds and

Dream did the skip 2/2

Sapnap did the skip 2/2 but reached first jump pad in the first one

Fruit did the skip 2/2... Half skip once and full skip in second lap.

Illumina did 0/2

Illuminas run was so flawless that he didn't get 1st by 3.65 seconds when he didnt get the skip even once. The only fault he made in his run according to Illumina was him overshooting the trident and losing half a second.He would have gotten 1st even if he made the half skip once.

So, let's talk clarity, Illumina's LIMS:

it written in java. and that's why for scripting tasks inside the LIMS, the "programming" team of Illumina chose Groovy. Not because it is a useful programming language in bioinformatics, but for their own fucking convenience. Because it is easy to import a superset of Java.

As per their usual MO, Illumina chooses to be tone-deaf to the needs of its users.

Seriously, he keeps getting so many cracked teams

Incredibly research based reasons for this duo to happen:

1. Illumina has actually said he would like to team with Dream

2. This would be similar to fruitninja from MCC17

3. Illumina said his least favorite game is dodgebolt while Dream’s favorite game is dodgebolt

4. Dream is a weak player who needs someone to carry him

5. Illumina is a weak player who needs someone to carry him

Fruit didn't make it to DB in MCCAS or MCC18 so we won't be seeing Illumina in DB next MCC /j

Since he joined MCC he always make it to DB after Fruit get to DB in previous MCC

In the past, Illumina has stated that Buildmart is one of his favorite MCC games. I’m not sure if this still holds true but a few months ago, he said: “Buildmart is perfect. It's the perfect combination of building, routing, teamwork, decision making, and memorization. It's just beautiful.” (x)

Illumina is definitely Not a builder (obviously). However, his skills in speedrunning (quick crafting, memorization) and his excellent communication and teamwork he brings to MCC still allow him to still do well in Buildmart despite not being a builder. Illumina has also said he does lots of VOD watching to prepare for MCC. (and VOD reviewing is probably one of the best ways to prepare for Buildmart)

If you remember, the reason Teal 13 made it to dodgebolt is because they managed to do very well in the Buildmart finale and beat out Pink and Coral; What's interesting is that a couple days before the event, Illumina told his team that they should review Buildmart VODs, because he believed that Pink Presents would get it played (and that’s exactly what happened)

Here are Illumina’s teams’ placements in Buildmart:

Teal Turkeys 13: 2nd

Aqua Axolotls P21: 4th (yes I know it's non-canon but I included it just for the sake of it)

Pink Parrots 17: 4th

I’m not saying that 2nd, 4th, and 4th means that Illumina is one of the best Buildmart players (that’s definitely not true), especially since Buildmart is a team game and a lot of it comes down to how good the team is collectively.

But it shows that you can still put work into improving and do pretty well in that game even if you’re more PVP/movement oriented.

There were no builders on Pink 17. Fruitninja (two speedrunners/PVP-ers) and the Simmers (who haven't placed higher than 9th in Buildmart in the past)

Basically, you don’t need to be a builder to be good at Buildmart. Some people have said that you can’t “practice” Buildmart like you can practice for PVP, but I personally don't think that's true. VOD watching and even just getting familiar with crafting recipes could really help Buildmart performances.
