Hi! I have access to a large quantity of HP t530 thin terminals (100+) for a relatively cheap price. I am planning to purchase a few to play with for few different purposes.

I'm just curious, is there an easy way to have a vPro stype access to these thin terminals for BIOS access, power up, remote desktop etc for these clients? I understand I can run a copy of HP Device Manager, but I think this only works if the client machine already has the thin terminal OS up and running before I can use HPDM. I want to be able to access at a barebones level like how Intel vPro, or IPMI server access. Is this possible?

Filed a bug.

I was on 12.x (12.2, I think?) previously, and had KDE setup so that the OS booted right into a graphical login. Post-13.0 update, that no longer happens. Now the OS just shows login: in a terminal, and logging in just keeps me in the terminal and doesn't go into KDE at all.

I've already run # pkg-static upgrade -f to pickup the 13.0 package ABI stuff, but nothing changes after reboot.

FWIW I'm using the non-DRM Xorg driver as I'm on an Intel Core 2nd Gen iGPU.

Any ideas on how to boot directly into KDE?

After reading a ton and watching dozen videos on how the HP Battery system would work with the new HP Brushless tools I pulled the trigger on purchasing on an HP Brushless Drill and HP Brushless Impact Driver as well as a new HP 4 Ah battery.

After unboxing the items I noticed that the new HP batteries do have terminals that the older non-HP batteries didn't have. Cool! That was expected based on the research I did before hand (see images below)

Upon looking at the HP Brushless Drill and Impact Driver I couldn't see a place where these new battery terminals would make a connection with the new HP Brushless tools (see images). Well, that was unexpected.

What am I missing here? Ryobi's own marketing material references that these new HP battery terminals would work specifically with the HP Brushless tool line via extra connections that communicated with the battery, but that doesn't actually look to be the case.

Some background: I was active on several roleplay forums from around 2002-2012. Most of these were Harry Potter roleplays, each with its own distinct plot. Members could choose from a variety of Canon characters or invent their own. Single members were also generally restricted to around 4 characters (limit depended on site rules). Each site also had it's own required literary levels, minimum word count per post, and minimum activity levels. The sites I tended to hang around were labeled as "literate" (proper SPAG required, no text speech, minimum 400 words per post).

The site I met "John" on was a present (meaning that the plot takes place during the time period of the books) alternate universe Harry Potter RP site. The moderators had also taken great care to create an interesting plot. John didn't care about any of that, he just wanted to flex.

Most sites didn't have specific rules about a ratio of Canon characters to original characters, but it was generally considered good to have at least a 1:1 ratio. So, if you started out creating an original character, the next character you claimed would be a canon character. This basically kept the site's plot on track (you can't have a major plot involving Snape if nobody will play Snape).

John came in blazing with four original characters, applying for all of them in less than a week. He told us that all these characters were from his own original story and they all had interconnected narratives. It was slightly annoying that he didn't claim a single canon character, but he technically wasn't breaking any rules.

Obviously one of the main draws of roleplaying is creating a story with a community, having an element of surprise with actions of characters you can't predict. Roleplayers generally used plot pages to help map out a story or interaction with other people's characters then created a thread to write it. John didn't post plot pages nor did he plot with anyone. Instead, he switched between his four accounts and roleplayed... with himself.

It was pretty strange. What's the point of being a part of a roleplaying community if you only roleplayed with yourself. His interaction with the community mainly was limited to bragging about himself in the shout-box and shrugging off questions why he only roleplayed with himself. It was bizarre, but also not against the rules. Besides, he wasn't really bothering anybody.

Guys, I've been facing this issue with my hp x 360, while switching it on... I enter my password and the screen goes blank for a second and later a white blank screen appears for few more seconds and then it unlocks...any idea how to resolve this?
