Been off the road for 3ish months and I’m already going insane. I landed a dope job and I have a roof over my head but I can’t stop dreaming of riding again. I’m so close to the EBD hop.. it’s literally a matter of grabbing my pack, getting on a bus, walking a few miles, and playing the waiting game.
So I saw a comic of a Fluff sticking its head into a discarded tea cup as its "Housie" and it gave me an idea, a sort of "Hermit Crab" or "Turtle" Fluffie that uses a found object as a mobile "Shell Housie". Something light enough it can Carry/Wear, but still large enough to get at least most of its body, head, and legs inside.
So for instance a small invertrd cardboard box with holes chewed out for head and tail, the legs sticking out the open bottom. Or maybe a Mare wearing a discarded purse or handbag, with her foals in the pockets or on her back but covered by the purse. Or a Toughie wearing Breadpan Armor with a Saucepan Helmet. Styrofoam Coolers, Aluminum Pots, little plastic kiddy pools...
Perhaps even "Hoarders" that are basically just Fluffy legs and head sticking out of a bag of garbage.
And then there may be a few "Herd Shells". Heavier or larger objects turned into mobile "Housies" by groups of Fluffs. Trashcans, aluminum truck bed covers, tarps, etc.
And finally, like the inspiration, a few not so bright or desperate Fluffs whos "Shell Housie" just sits on or covers thier face/head, like a hat, cup, tin can, small box, etc.

The Housie-Fluff in the Urban Landscape
Morning. The Sun is slowly beginning to creep into the vacant lots and alleyways of the Urban Center. The sidewalks and streets are already noisy with the hustle and bustle of the morning commute. Our attention however is to smaller movements. In the shadows, there, by that trashcan.
That fastfood container. Once holding some child's serving of processed chicken. See how it moves against the wind? Let us look closer.
Small holes gnawed in the greasy cardstock, four tiny green weggies protruding from the underside through the holes, and another hole in the side through which... yes a pair of little eyes are peeking out.
This is a Housie-Fluff. A Micro fluffy or Foal by the look. Wearing its tiny Housie as it begins its day searching for Nummies. Lets follow.
This is a dangerous gamble. Our little friend must have spent the night by that trashcan, curled up inside its little box with its weggies drawn in for protection. While excellent camouflage, it now must navigate the busy sidewalk and the many stomping feet so dangerously close by. It seems to heading for a narrow gap between two buildings, not quite an alley, a service access perhaps. Lets see if we can listen in...
"Huh huh huh, pwease nice mistas an wadies, pwease no gib Fwuffy Mummah an gud babbehs wostest stompies. Huh huh huh huh." "Housie pwease save Fwuffy Mummah an Babbehs, huh huh huh."
"Peep peep peep" "Chirp" "Peep"
"Huh huh, shhhh Babbehs, Mummuh get nummies foh bestest miwkies soon. Pwease weggies go fastew, huh huh"
Oh ho ho, so this is a Micro we have discovered, and it seems she has a few Foals. Generally Housie-Foals will be carried on the mothers back in the protection of the Housie until they are too large, and then may be carried inside the Housie itself in some fashion until they are finally large enough to find thier own Housies, OH THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE. Our little friend nearly got kicked by a passing pedestrian, however she seems to have reached the relative safety of the gap between the buildings. What will she do now?
She seems to have stopped to rest, perhaps we can get close enough to peek inside.
Why yes, a dark green Micro mare with light blue mane and tail, she has drawn her weggies into her Housie, looking for all the world like any other random peice of litter. She has... one, two, three.
