A list of puns related to "Horatius"
So I just finished the game, and on the 4th Ending I noticed that Horatius came across a little oddly with my female PC. He started stammering about getting some drinks after the museum visit, and when you leave the conversation with him he brings it up again that he hopes he sees you later for drinks. It struck me as flirty.
So I just went on Youtube and watched the same ending with a male PC, and he doesn't even mention drinks - basically confirming that there are (soft) hints of a romance with him for female PCs. IDK I just thought it was a cute little tidbit to share.
Anyone else notice any small differences based upon your character's gender?
It seems particularly odd as Horatio is a name that English adopted unlike, say, Pompey
Lars Porsena of Clusium, by the nine god's he swore, that the great house of Tarquin, would suffer wrong no more...
According to legend, Horatius was a Roman soldier who defended the bridge on tiber river. If Lars Persona armies crossed the bridge then it would have been end of Rome but Horatius held the army till the Romans could destroy the bridge. He was hit by projectile weapons , spears. But with his sword and shield he held his ground. Historians are spectical about this tale because according to sources, Rome surrendered to Lars personna during this battle or shortly afterwards.
When I watched Magadheera bridge scene, i found it in common Horatius. Especially sword fighting, injuries he sustains and enemy's respect. This has a lot in common with Horatius
Also, I think he is the only good and actually likeble Slytherin teacher in the series. I never really liked Snape, and Malfoy, and ya know, the other Slytherins....Also, I haven't read the 7th book yet,(What a dummy am I...nevermind, I'm going to read that) so I'll say, that Slughorn is the only likeble charchter in these six books (or hextology or whatever it's called)
Oh yeah, and >! Now I HATE SNAPE CUZ HE KILLED DUMBLEDORE, and Hagrid's house...let's just not talk about that....!<
Ok girls and boys, there are no more spoilers here!
Hey I just finished God's way of peace (a book for the anxious) by Horatius Bonar, I was wondering if anyone else read it and their thoughts on it.
I enjoyed most of it as this is probably one of the first times I have heard the holiness of God being held with the Love of God without one out weighing the other. Not to mention for a presbyterian preacher (and I mean no offense by this at all) he talked about God's love and pursuit of the sinner in a way that drew me in more than I've heard most. Also it was nice to not hear someone limit God's love, it's something I've been bothered by lately (see my last post on here) that some people want to limit and put boundaries on God's love I think to protect His holiness but Horatius doesn't see the need here and seems to think it's detrimental and doesn't sacrifice God's holiness in anyway.
My one gripe might be that he can be quite exacting when talking about the person tarrying to put their faith in Christ (choy 9 & 10), which I think I understand where he's coming from now that I've had time to think over it, but I think for the more anxious out there it can shake you up a bit if you dial in to much to just those sections and don't 1 aknowledge who he's taking too (one who won't put their faith in Christ) which I think is different from someone of "little" faith (which I could be wrong about) and 2 look at the whole point of the book, which is what I had to continue to remind myself.
I'd also say it seems this book is more targeted to the anxious one who refuses to trust God and the gospel rather than the anxious believer, yet I will say he talks non stop about God's willingness to save and how it's superior to any desire we ever could have to be saved, and I think that's the big take a way I got as one who can be anxious in my faith.
Thats just my opinion, if anyone else has read it id like to hear your thoughts, and I'd recommend it to anyone on here as it's a small and fairly easy read. (Also worley available online and like 5$ on amazon)
Is anyone familiar with the story of Horatius? I recently heard about it and wasn't sure what it was. I would appreciate a general gist of it in latin or in english if anyone knows the story.
