What about things such as spiritualism, as well? I'm from Brazil and its really popular here, as well as African religions such as unbandism. they tend to claim that "mediunic" (contacting and receiving "spirits") work with "souls" to help those "lost" after death or expel them from people lives, to be assisted by them to "cure"people from diseases, or even to contact deceased loved ones is its purpose. Is it just a serious distortion of gnostic metaphysics?
I'm new into gnosticism, really think its sound and solid as a view, and I'm making these questions myself as I have a large number of pentecostal Christian and spiritualist friends. Both are very popular here. I'm also a former pentecostal christian and was into it for two years, never hardly believed into what they did around me.
You can check my comment history to prove this: for a while I’ve been wanting to skip America due to the large degree of support Trumpism has had and apparently still has. However I might have been convinced to try to stick around to work towards a better future, but I have no idea where to start. I know that if I go full ham and speak out for affirming theology/against Trumpism, there’s an overwhelming likelihood I’m getting disowned in which case I’m boned on that front. Is there a way to move people away from the hate that apparently they’re required to have in their hearts to be good American Christians?
