keep reading on reddit β‘I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Miriel has BlΓ‘rlion+
Elm's weapon: Grants Spd+3. At start of combat, if unit's HP β₯ 25%, grants Atk/Spd+6 to unit during combat. Unit's first attack during combat deals damage = X% of unit's Spd (X = the number of foes within 3 spaces Γ 10; max 30%). Reduces damage from foe's first attack during combat by X% (X = the number of foes within 3 spaces Γ 20; max 60%). At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, unit can move 1 extra space. (That turn only. Does not stack.) If unit transforms, grants Atk+2.

Hey all, as Forbidden West approaches - I decided I wanted to give myself something of a challenge. Using only the Spear (as much as viable) to complete the game. I finished yesterday and wanted to share my observations from my time smacking machines.
Some caveats:
- no, I don't believe it's viable to complete the game ONLY using the spear, and I'll explain in a few places down below
- I played through 99% of the game on Easy, as Normal drastically reduces melee damage - probably still possible to do on higher difficulties but, honestly, feels like it'd be tedious and boring
- there's not really a way to show that I got 98%+ kills with the spear through statistics, so you'll just have to take my word for it
- I allowed myself the ability to override machines and use them to help me in some fights, given that the override is housed in the Spear it seemed like a valid option
Some observations:
- Stealth Armor is extremely strong playing Spear-only, as you can move about freely among machines and even walk right up to them to Silent Strike them
- you tend to spend a lot of potions and herbs early on because you end up losing more health fighting most machines - granted, someone who likes Dark Souls could probably be more efficient than I was
- there were some sections of the game I actually felt were easier by focusing on stealth and melee kills
- I prioritized getting the >!spear upgrade rail from Frozen Wilds!< as soon as the quest was available, that upgrade made things go a lot quicker
- after getting the spear mod slot, I pushed the main quest forward until I could get >!Sylens' Lance!<, giving me a 2nd mod slot - again, the damage boost was welcomed -- then I went back and cleared out everything that was viable to do melee-only
- any machine that can be knocked down consistently ends up being an easy kill with a fully upgrade spear and the appropriate skill points
- once you get the Shield-Weaver Armor, most combat in the game pretty much becomes trivial
Impossible (or Difficult) Sections:
- any time you face Glinthawks, it's going to be annoying - they rarely ever land while in combat - someone better than me could probably smack them during their dive attack - but I broke convention to use a Ropecaster to tie them down first (no damage so I considered it palatable in the context of the challenge) and then killed them with a Critical Strike
- I was able to complete 7 of the 15 Hunters Lodge challeng
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
Hi,
I often see people say Subaki is bad, and base stats are important, and Hinata has bases that carry him for a good while...well, the thing is, if you reclass Subaki at 10/1, his average stats are:
25.75 HP/11 str/16 skl/12.75+1 spd/12.25-1 def/8.25-1 res
Personal skill +15 hit/avo when HP at max VS mega-nerfed counter
Subaki's advantages: Subaki and Hinata have nearly the same offense. Hinata has a better sword rank, but if they go MoA, Subaki has built 2 weapon ranks while Hinata has only 1, meaning you can have a C naginata/D-C sword Subaki, choosing between speed and bulk at any time. Subaki also ends up with similar speed to Hinata but has more chapters early to build supports, so when Hinata comes, Subaki can already be B rank with Hana or Rinkah, making his pair up options much more beneficial to him than they are to no support Hinata. Subaki has an actual personal skill, Hinata's personal is barely usable since it means putting him at death's door just for...half counter damage? That's really useless. So Subaki at full health with samurai skills is dodging like crazy. Subaki also comes with darting blow, so the 1 speed difference between them means little when Subaki can double ch9 thieves with a steel katana (he can't wield it, but he could double them if he could use it, which is more than can be said about Hinata who doubles nothing but knights and maybe dark mages on this map with his steel katana and needs Oboro just to double cavaliers with 9 spd, and darting blow will always stay an advantage in Subaki's favor).
Hinata's advantages: doesn't cost a heart seal, C-rank katanas from the get-go, slightly more enemy phase speed (which cancels out eventually as Subaki's 5% higher spd growth will end up equaling their speed stats), both samurai skills already. That's it.
So, if we were to compare, Subaki fills Hinata's niche better than Hinata while also filling the high avoid myrmidon role thanks to his personal skill coupled with already built supports at Hinata's join time (bonus primary and secondary stats), he's bulkier (he heals some HP each turn, potentially getting back to full HP from a level up at the beginning of his turn and dodging decently is better than not dodging), his MoA promotion has more benefits (lance rank already built), he's able to hit every enemy with inaccurate weapons (while Hinata has trouble hitting dodgy enemies) and since he comes in with darting blow from the get-go (better than anything Hinata comes with),

Interesting Traveling Merchants - Interesting merchant NPCs that your players can run into and what sort of things they are selling.
Die Roll | Result |
---|---|
1 | Gerard Oirling: A very thin human man with a backpack that seems much too large for him. Inside it, he keeps minor magic items with a twist for sale. For example, he may sell the Torch of Night Vision (a torch that grants the user night vision for up to 30' when lit), or the Potion of Hydration (just a vial of water). |
2 | Sunu'Rahh: An aarakokra who resembles a massive vulture. He has a colorful carpet stretched out that displays all of the neat things he has found along the roads of his travel. |
3 | Kranz 'Boom' Rubblefist: A dwarf with insane eyes, charred hair, and only one eyebrow. He has an insane look in his eyes, and is always attempting to sell gunpowder to all who walk by. He has been put in prison for arson a few times, and he's currently trying to make enough money to get his partner out of jail for the same crime. |
4 | Nipip and Prina Glitterhelm: A gnome couple who sell flavored healing potions. Nipip is a successful alchemist who discovered how to create healing potions, and Prina colors them and adds different interesting flavors to them, such as mint, strawberry, or cotton candy. |
5 | Thokon Kolakavone: A massive goliath who sells massive Clydesdale horses. When he is encountered, he is always carrying 1d4 of these magnificent horses on a lead. He sells these horses for a much higher price than a regular horse, because he claims they are 'as strong as three horses combined'! |
6 | Bokim Pappalnap: A cheery Gnome selling his own paintings. Unfortunately, they aren't very good. He hasn't sold any paintings yet, but everyone he has spoken to has had a good explanation for why they couldn't buy his art. He sold his family's fishing boat to pursue his art dream, but hasn't regretted that decision yet. |
7 | Caleb Farseer (an alias; actually Caleb Butterhouse): A tall, high-strung, well-dressed young man selling a variety of luxury goods: silk and fur clothing, silver tableware, valuable books, etc. He knows the items' histories in detail. It's not hard to get him to spill the truth: these are the possessions of his wealthy family, he's selling them without their permission (he's trying to look at it as taking his inheritance in advance), and it's the only way he sees to purchase armor and warhorse for his perceived destiny as a |
