A list of puns related to "Harry Potter Owl"
So on the list, Harry sees he can bring an owl, a cat, or a toad. However, we know that these aren't actually the only options. Ron has a rat, and Harry's son has a ferret (can't remember if that was in the book or just movie, but doesn't matter because there's still Ron).
The explanation for this is that you can bring an animal other than an owl, a rat, or a toad. But you need to ask the headmaster first. And I would think in most cases, it's granted.
The real intention of the rule is that so people don't bring something stupid/dangerous, like a dragon, to school.
Assuming they take remedial classes and is socially aware enough to live well among muggles
Harry is completely oblivious to the fact that he has released terrible horrors onto the world as Hedwig and Dobby begin raising undead armies in competition for their beloved master and his sacred attention. Dreadwig the Terrible, Lady of the Undying Wings, Terrible Talon of the Night, and assorted other titles raises up a legion of undead owls and other birds of prey to conquer the skies. At first, this is merely an inconvenience to the wizarding world as their post owls are prevented from making deliveries. Then the Flight of Death manages to take down a dragon and add it to their numbers.
With her army of the dead, Dreadwig rules the sky with an iron wing in the name of her dark god. Harry just thinks it's cute how Hedwig is making so many new friends, meanwhile Hermione, Ron, Ginny, etc tiptoe around their beloved unknowing eldritch god friend, not wanting him to actually realize what's going on because then he might devour reality be sad.
Dobby, on the other hand, is determined to make all life (and death) worship the Great Master of Death Harry Potter. He raises up an army of zombie house elves to ensure the world is cleaned of unbelievers and people who don't wear socks. Over time, the Cleaning Legion adds other magical creatures to their numbers, including goblins, garden gnomes, and whatever the hell Hagrid just bred in his hut. Hagrid of course helps Dobby out by giving him easy access to whatever dies in the forest, not to mention the thestrals as mounts for the Cleaning Legion.
Now marauding hordes of zombie elves sweep the land on thestralback, wielding enchanted brooms and mops to clean away the stain of their enemies. Harry is once again oblivious to the chaos, and won't stop gushing to Hermione about how Dobby has freed so many elves, not to mention somehow made goblins be friendly. Maybe it has something to do with why Gringotts closed for a week before reopening with a much paler staff. Obviously a customer service training seminar took place. Hermione just nods along while idly pushing away the elf corpse attempting to reshelve the book in her hand.
Then the Flight of Death and the Cleaning Legion begin competing for territory, and everything just goes to hell in a handbasket as the two attempt to prove they are the more faithful army of undead. Harry remains totally unaware of both his eldritch horror nature (he's just a normal, average necromancer you know), and the madness going on around him as he works on his newest

I know there are definite times to use written communication as well as the need for discretion which owls offer. I'm simply wondering why there isn't a way to instantly deliver letters and packages by apparating or using the floo network.
It was a fairly popular fic and I remember it being on FFN.
Edit: I found it. I probably should have tried actually searching before I posted. Renumeration for Instructional Services by Stephen Ratliff.

These three franchises are often consider the best for magical world building. But if you could take one aspect of their world building and make a whole new world, what would it be?
For example
Harry Potter: Magical Creatures
Little Witch Academia: Seven Words
The Owl House: The Boiling Isle
Remember, you can only pick one of each franchise.

Oddly, I think Iβm the kind of person that prefers hundreds of millions of dollars spent on making the best traditional animation ever but if it was replicated perfectly in live action and looked legit and real and actually good, at least how I felt initially watching the first Harry Potter movie years ago, that would be pretty awesome. How would you guys feel. A Disney channel movie budget though, would just be cringe, but imagining game of throne graphics and all could be really something special. The bones of the giant skeleton in a lot of the shots would be pretty cool.
Would Hogwarts allow it?
