A list of puns related to "Grape Related"
You have the power. Use it wisely.
The fruit doesnβt drop off; thereβs no trace of it on the ground, so Itβs probably not an insect or biochemical issue. Itβs not birds; all the plants are tied to trellises and covered by bird netting. The fruit are too high for the ground hogs, rabbits, raccoons, and other ground dwellers in the yard. There are no deer. Iβve only seen one in thirty years and that was over a decade ago. Squirrels or chipmunks might be a possibility but thereβs plenty of other food in the yard, like bird seed, that they do eat. I live in a well populated suburb so a bear is very unlikely. I have security cameras so I would have seen any human activity.
What am I missing? If I canβt find a viable reason for the disappearances, I may relocate a camera to monitor some of the fruit. That might identify the culprit but I would lose another season of fruit. Any ideas?

Hey there! I currently work in the beverage industry and we are working on a project that relates to our products, sediment, and clarity. We originally though that a higher initial NTU was indicative of a higher potential for sediment to fall out of solution. With the addition of enzymes and testing many different filtration methods (we are selling a Koch Membrane Filter Unit if any of you producers out there are interested) we are starting to think that may not be the case. My question for you all is this, are their wines you expect to have more clarity than others, and is this purely indicative of filtration or do varietal and growing circumstances play a role in final product clarity? Would a grape grown in high elevation and more mineral driven areas have a hazier look than something grown elsewhere in much different conditions?
Would love to hear what you all have to say about this!
Edit: if it helps we are using sterile stainless for our brewing and if anyone works in QC I would love to hear from you!
I didn't pick up on hardly any of this when I read this one back in school, but reading it now, in the middle of (gestures at everything) thisβ it hits different. It actually means something.
The Joads have just been trampled on by the rich. Literally forced off their own land because someone with deeper pockets and bigger financial interests just wanted them out of the way.
This book is unfortunately the timeless American tale of how the rich will betray the poor and how the poor try to survive against impossible odds. It might give you hope. It might resonate with the resentment you already feel. It might give you a framework to understand or explain your reaction to what we've seen in the United States in the recent past. You might find Grapes full of shocking double standards, where the rich get a different set of rules (read: the rich have fewer rules). You might be stunned at how a novel from 80 years ago accurately describes what we still see today.
Get radicalized with me, and read The Grapes of Wrath.
Edit: thanks for the awards and all that. Also thanks for all the great reading suggestions left in the comments!
My personal recommendations for reading this book if it's your first time: don't try to understand everything that's going on, and don't be afraid or ashamed to read some sparknotes or the wikipedia plot summary. If you're not from or familiar with southern/midwestern accents, the dialogue can be hard to understand. It's not all crucial to the plot though, so don't worry if you find yourself glossing over things. Just don't rush through any interactions poor people have with better-off or rich people.
My personal recommendations for seasoned readers who are revisiting this one: take your time. Savor every line and visualize what Steinbeck is trying to show you. The dusty despair is real, and you should feel it.
