A list of puns related to "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela"
Look at this disgraceful song:

Musalmaans are in KHATRA and we have people listening to this OBSCENE SONG, GLORIFYING A RACIST GOD FROM HINDU MYTHOLOGY.
Should songs with implicit religious messages be allowed? Is this an example of the HINDUTVAVAADI CONTROL OVER BOLLYWOOD? IS RANVEER SINGH A DIVISIVE, SECULARISM-HATING HINDU?
Watch me....a clueless, foreign passport-holding, kaala angrez with no knowledge of India, discuss THIS subject and MORE, on today's edition of <an American millionaire-funded video/article on India>.
PS. MUSALMAAN KHATRE MEIN HAI!!!!

Does anyone know about all the venues where Ram-Leela will happen this year? And will the audience be allowed to see them?
What are your favorite adaptations of Shakespeare - not the plays in the original dialogue or even context, but versions where the themes are explored in a new format or even language? My top 10 would be:
10: O (2001) - Othello set in a contemporary prep-school, but no less dangerous.
9: Legend of the Black Scorpion (2006) - A Chinese take on Hamlet. Worth watching for the hypnotically beautiful "Mousetrap" scene alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhIvGwgQMC0
8: Maqbool (2003) - Macbeth set in modern India's criminal underworld.
7 - Throne of Blood (1957) - Kurosawa's Macbeth, seamlessly transposed to Samurai Japan.
6 - Ten Things I Hate About You (1999) - A teen-friendly The Taming of the Shrew with the misogynist edge sanded off; smart, funny, and heartwarming.
5 - Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) - Romeo and Juliet in all Bollywood's glory! Fast paced, sumptuous, with great chemistry between the two leads.
4 - My Own Private Idaho (1991) - A modern-day Henry IV, Part I; haunting, elusive, and tragic. Career best performances by Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix.
3 - Rosencratz and Guildenstern are Dead (1990) - A brilliant adaptation/parody/homage to Hamlet, featuring two of its least memorable characters as stars; a worms-eye-view of Elsinore in a play-within-a-play trapped in reality.
2 - Haider (2014) - The tragedy of Hamlet playing out in the borderlands of contemporary Kashmir. A topical and powerful interpretation.
1 - Ran (1985) - Kurosawa's masterpiece, the full majesty and tragedy of King Lear in a beautifully realized plot that fleshes out the lead characters - their backgrounds and motivations - in a way Shakespeare leaves ambiguous, filmed against the backdrop of breathtaking scenery.
What do you think? I would love to hear any suggestions for further viewing!
