A list of puns related to "Genetics Word"
What the worst mixes youโve seen/groomed ?
what do you think? it's just so random and cruel to me.
Word for a certain study about genetics. For example your ancestors lived through a famine and they pass on genes that make you larger so you survive. Thanks
So, my grandparents and their extended family are from Trentino and Triest, respectively (one part lived in Trentino for a good bit after the fall of the k.u.k. Monarchy and had their roots there) which means I'm ethnically Italian, which, if I understand the categorisation correctly, means I am also genetically and ethnically latino and therefore a non-asian non-white. Does this mean I can say the n-word? (I am an Austrian citizen.)
The phenotype of vestigial (short) wings (vg) in Drosophila melanogaster is caused by a recessive mutant gene that independently assorts with a recessive gene for hairy (h) body. Assume that a cross is made between a fly with normal wings and a hairy body and a fly with vestigial wings and normal body hair. The wild-type F1 flies were crossed among each other to produce 1024 offspring. What phenotypes would you expect among the 1024 offspring?
How many of each phenotype would you expect?
-----------------------------------
From the paragraph I know we will be crossing: Parents normal wings & hairy body X vestigial wing & normal body
This translates to: GGhh x ggHH
I don't know how to go about this from here, doing a punnet square is time consuming and the short cuts I've learned get confusing and sometimes leave me with the wrong answer
Thank you so much for your help
I'm not complaining. I know good things take time and not every mod could be 1.3 ready instantly. Just curious if there has been news on it because it's one of my favorites.
There is a psychological concept called Locus of Control. It essentially means the location of control. Where people view this control directly influences their choices with respect to where they put their efforts. While this is particularly true for children, it is also very true for adults. Acknowledge your, and others', efforts rather than boiling their accomplishments down to something out of their control.
So just got a 58% on my genetics test, and I knew I did bad but didnโt know Iโd do THAT badly. It was reassuring to know others in my class did the same if not worse, but still itโs very disheartening to see something like that on my first test in that class. Iโve just been feeling very hopeless and discouraged lately this semester and that just made it worse ... Iโm more determined than ever to pass the next one and make up for it, because I refuse to fail this class, but damn that was a real kick in the face today and Iโve been feeling like I want to cry about it like all day ... anyone relate?
