A list of puns related to "Gameplay Of Pokémon"
I can’t believe this. In every other Pokémon game, it took a month of nonstop playing to get to the Pokémon League.
I will not buy this trash game, and if you disagree you are censoring me and are a corporate shill
Hello everyone today I posted episode two of my playthrough of Pokémon XD link is here https://youtu.be/NyVNGYBYUL0 if you all could give it a watch and give me some feedback that would be very appreciated as I’m trying to grow as a YouTuber! As much as I would love to obtain some of these new Pokémon I'm not desperate and I can wait. This game is all about bad RNG and it's very demotivating for many of us because Niantic doesn't create tools that we need to have in a real world environment so that the game doesn't seem as if it's taking us for a ride.
Let's just look at things from a soloist standpoint. If I want to find a Timburr raid I have to hope that I find one while driving to work one morning or going to school with my friends. It would be nice if the game had an in-game raid map to help us find it. There are areas that have cheating spoofer maps for crying out loud. You're trying to tell me that these cheats are able to create one and you are not? Your own game?
I guess tasks could be looked at the same way as raids except that they're completely free. They're great as they are but again we should have a way to find them. Maps have a way to find them so again I don't see why there's no in-game way of doing this as well.
Eggs are a total crap shoot but that doesn't mean they have to be as bad as an experience as they are. Sometimes on days where I hatch multiples (from my free incubator because hatching eggs sucks) I ended hatching the same exact Pokémon each time. A little bit of control would be nice? Surely we can have some sort of control. "People won't buy as many incubators if they gave us more control". I say this is false. Making a better game = a happier playerbase.
With the announcement of Raid Battles and the new battle features, we are staying true on our commitment to ensuring that Pokémon GO continues to be a fun and fair experience for all Trainers. Starting today, Pokémon caught using third-party services that circumvent normal gameplay will appear marked with a slash in the inventory and may not behave as expected. We are humbled by the excitement for all the new features we announced yesterday. This is one small part of our continued commitment to maintaining the integrity of our community and delivering an amazing Pokémon GO experience.
Hello /r/PokemonGo
We are researchers from the University of Liverpool (UK) and the University of Nottingham (UK) researching location-based games, such as Pokémon Go.
We would like to invite you to participate in our survey. Your responses will help us explore the motivations and gameplay experiences of Pokémon Go players.
You can find the survey here: https://liverpool.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/rpokemongo
This is the sister survey of the /r/HarryPotterWU survey we are currently running!
The survey should not take more than 7 to 10 minutes of your time.
There are no foreseeable risks involved in participating in this study.
Your survey answers will be stored in the University of Liverpool servers, and the data will be stored and managed according to the Data Protection Act of 2018 and the Research Data Policy of the University of Liverpool. You can read more about the Data Protection Act of 2018 and the Research Data Policy of the University of Liverpool in the following links: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/data-protection-act-2018, and https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/library/research-data-management/.
Your responses will remain anonymous. We do not collect any identifying information (name, email address, IP address, etc). No-one will be able to identify you, and no-one will know whether or not you you participated in the study.
Once we have analyzed the data from this survey we will post them here in a new thread for discussion!
If you have questions at any time about the study or the procedures, you may contact me via email at K.Papangelis@liverpool.ac.uk or respond to this thread.
We sincerely appreciate your help and support!
Thank you :)
Kind Regards,
Konstantinos
Blastoise being the most obvious example. Squirtle is indisputably the best starter in the campaign but in competitive play Venusaur and Charizard seem to get more usage and Blastoise lags even further behind if you take mega evolutions into account. Meganium is arguably another example since it wasn’t half bad in the campaign but it’s potentially the worst starter of all time in competitive play. (I have some competitive Pokémon knowledge but I never really got to into it.)
I know it's not just me but after doing a few searches I couldn't find many similar opinions.
It annoys me how the new games focus so much on making Pokémon cute, when back in the old days it was all about making them cool and powerful Pokémon. For example take emerald ruby and sapphire, the legendaries are much more scary/cool looking than other later games. Pokémon is not about the aesthetics it's all about the battle and beating the other pokes!
Take Pokémon go, you couldn't even battle! All about cuteness way overrated..
Wish they could make an old-themed game again with the mindset of making it good for battle, cus that's the fun part right?
Pokémon as a universe varies greatly between being cutesy and utopian, and darker and grittier based on the source material.
What do you prefer?
Seeing another random discussion with some people preferring the grittier Manga that I haven't read made me curious on what you all think.
In it, apparently people and Pokémon die at times, there are more evil characters, and more Pokémon battles are actual life and death scenarios.
That's an enormous contrast with the show, where the world of Pokémon appears almost utopian most of the time with battles portrayed as a fun thing for both the Pokémon and their trainers, and where both are rarely if ever really hurt.
The show portrays Pokémon as creatures at or near human-level intelligence, who talk to each other in a way that humans somehow can't understand.
For anyone who's read it, does the Manga also use that portrayal, or does it view them more as trained smart animals?
The games also tend to carry this feeling, but there's always been darker lore about how Pokémon act in the wild lurking in the Pokédex.
Which raises some disturbing ethical questions on how Pokémon could have human-level intelligence while still ruthlessly hunting like wild animals, but there seems to be a bright side in humans bringing out their civilized side.
I can recall at least two instances in the show where a Pokémon was behaving like a predator, and at least one where a different Pokémon stood up to them: so it's possible that they aren't all so savage.
To the point, I personally think the Utopian angle has always been the heart and soul of the universe.
Aside actual villains or wrestling with a violent legendary, Pokémon battles are mostly enjoyed by all participants.
Real lasting damage or death rarely happen in them, super-advanced medical care is commonplace to patch up anything, and any half-decent trainer follows some standard rules.
There are savage Pokémon in the wild doing what they think they need to to survive, but there are also more civilized ones that protect others.
That's my preferred tone for the setting.
I think Let's Go Eevee! went too far in the Utopian angle by watering down the villains, especially with Jessie and James making it hard to take the threat of Team Rocket seriously.
I prefered the stakes in Black, though I wish that most of Team Plasma were portrayed as well-intentioned fanatics rather than mustache-twirling villains in the end.
What tone do you prefer
... keep reading on reddit ➡Hi!! I'm a huge fan of the Pokémon franchise. I still remember the day when I got my first Pokemon game ( blue version), till this day that Christmas is one of the best days of my life. This days I got to little free time to play Pokemon between work and spending time with my lovely family.
So I'm recurring to your knowledge. I'm looking a detailed English speaking gameplay on YouTube.
Thanks for the help!
