Does anyone remember scouring the internet as a kid for future DBZ information because we couldn’t wait for the next episode to come out?

I remember just searching to watch the Japanese video of Gohan going SSJ2 against Cell. With the bird and that song playing. Gave me chills as a kid. I would watch on repeat. I don’t even remember where we were in American DBZ at the time (late 90’s/early 2000s).

EDIT: https://youtu.be/ISnWtcd3-L4 - I remember finding grainier versions as a kid, and they took forever to load, but basically videos like this.

There is a lot of positive sentiment permeating throughout the entire Cosmos Hub Ecosystem, I think investors are finally starting to realize that a multi-chain and interoperable internet of blockchains truly is the future.

We have Cosmos (ATOM) acting as the hub for all of these chains, with interchain security/staking being developed, allowing other chains to use the ATOM token to secure their own networks and at the same time bringing value to ATOM stakers in the form of rewards from all of these chains. The Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC) has already launched, being able to seamlessly move tokens between every network, allowing blockchains to no longer exist separately and unable to communicate with each other. IBC has allowed networks to completely avoid congestion and bloat from dApps, NFTs, etc. competing for throughput on a 1-layer system.

With liquid staking just around the corner, this will also allow ATOM stakers to convert their bonded ATOM into transferrable assets that can be used in liquidity pools and a multitude of other DeFi protocols, allowing ATOM holders to secure the network and participate in DeFi at the same time, all while being rewarded for any and all activities.

Terra (LUNA) is one of the largest chains in the Cosmos Ecosystem and they enabled IBC back in October, bringing with it $20 Billion on liquidity along with its great algorithmic based stablecoin (UST) which is heavily utilized all throughout Cosmos DeFi.

Osmosis (OSMO) the most advanced cross-chain DEX built with the Cosmos SDK, acting as the glue in the ecosystem for trading all these IBC enabled tokens, participating in liquidity pools, and with their own version of liquid staking called 'Superfluid Staking' coming in late february, liquidity providers will be able to use their bonded tokens to provide staking services, securing the network and getting rewarded at the same time.

There are about 200 chains being expected to connect to the IBC market to bridge Cosmos to their ecosystems, using the most secured SDK to connect to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot, Kusama, etc. In a free flow of assets between all of these major chains.

Evmos is launching in a few months or even weeks, becoming the EVM hub of Cosmos, making it easier for Ethereum smart contracts to deploy and communicate within the Cosmos ecosystem. And the Gravity bridge will allow for the trading of all Ethereum assets. Juno being the first 100% community driven permission-less network for cross-chain smart contracts, etc.

NFTs will be huge with Stargaze, music NFTs with Bitsong, private NFTs with the Secret Network, etc.

And with interchain accounts I believe that not just Cosmos, but the entire ecosystem w

Web 3 the future of the internet

Web 3 in the context of ethereum refers to decentralized apps that run on the blockchain. Unlike Web 2 which is dominated by companies that provide services in exchange for your personal data. Web 3 apps allow anyone to participate without monetizing their personal data.Web 3 theoretically protects user privacy better because of these intermediaries that do most the data collection.

Some of the benefits of Web 3 are anyone on the network has permission to use the service,it is permissionless.Web 3 is all about decentralization. No one can deny or block access to the service. Payments are built in via the native token ETH. Ethereum is turing-compete meaning you can pretty much program anything.

A couple comparisons between Web 2 and Web 3. A Payment service may decide to not allow payments for certain types of work Web 3 payment apps require no personal data and can't prevent payments. Servers for gig-economy apps could go down Web 3 servers can't go down they use ethereum a decentralized network of 1000s of computers.Twitter can censor any account or tweet Web 3 tweets would be uncensorable. This doesn't mean that all services need to be turned into dapp. These are just examples of some of the main differences between them.

Web 3 limitations right now are scalability transactions are slower things like payments need to be processed by a miner and propagated throughout the network, interacting with web 3 can require extra steps, software and education a possible hurdle to adoption, the lack of integration in modern web browsers makes Web 3 less accessible. And the cost most successful dapps only put very small portions of their code on the blockchain as it is expensive.

One element of Web 3 that's gaining alot of traction is DeFi which involves conducting IRL financial transactions without assistance from banks are Government which I am assuming is one of the reasons we are all on crypto, you know the thrill of sticking it to the man.

NFTs,digital currencies ,and other blockchain entities are going to be crucial to Web 3. Reddit is currently making Web 3 inroads by trying to find a way to use cryptocurrency tokens to allow users to essentially own portions of the communities they participate in on the site. I am pretty sure we all know on this subreddit how it works with moons. Because these points are on the blockchain their owners have more control over them they can not be taken away and they follow you around. This is only one use case a kind of

Snoop Doge - The future of internet meme currency | πŸ’² 1000x potential | Very low marketcap - Fairlaunched in November 2021 | πŸš€ Supported by Cozomo de' Medici aka Snoop Dogg! | Raising money for animal shelters | Fostering a huge meme community

Welcome to Snoop Doge!

⚑️ Snoop Doge is a new virtual meme token founded in November 2021, based off the highly
successful joke coin Doge, founded in 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer. Snoop Doge is a
meme token, of a meme coin. What started as a joke, has now turned into a token gem that has
the potential to 1000x.

⚑️ And the most exciting part about this project is it is supported by Snoop Dogg himself!

⚑️ Snoop Doge token was born of tweets between Elon Musk, Snoop Dog & Gene Simmons. Snoop
Dogg responded to Elon Musk with β€˜Snoop Doge’. By doing so, he inspired the founding of this
coin.

⚑️ It is reported on numerous news sites that Snoop Dogg's tweet pumped Dogecoin up 55% in a
single day. You may have heard of the Coinbase effect, allow us to introduce the Snoop Dogg
effect!

⚑️ Fast forward to December 4th 2021 and we received a message from Snoop Dogg himself
through his Cozomo de’ Medici account saying he would HODL the majority supply of Snoop
Doge tokens. He then followed our twitter page! Can it get any better than this for a brand new
project?

⚑️ Can you even begin to imagine how much this token will pump if we receive some tweets from
Snoop Dogg about this project he is now involved with? This is a long term project with huge
potential to take many people to the moon, thanks to Uncle Snoop Dogg!!

Reminder to be cautious about how Communist info will be processed through the Internet in the near future.

I believe that soon Communist creators and users online, will have a harder time expressing their views and organizing through the social media monopolies and (eventually most sites.) It'll definitely be put in the category of "Extremist content" very soon by western governments.

The point being made is that we need reliable websites for our ideas to be exchanged, as (unfortunately) alot of us live half of our life online and that's where we get our information. I'm sure there are some already made, so if so feel free to link them in the comment sections.

Carl Sagan Tribute Series by Milky Way Musings - Complete Archive on the Internet Archive / Archive.org for Posterity, Young Minds, and Future Science-Education Enthusiasts

Hello to the community of r/carlsagan!

I'd like to share this post in hopes that it will reach as many people as possible so that this collection can live on in the context of LOCKSS (That's, Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe in the archives world.)

This post references these two from from 7 and 2 years ago, respectively:

https://www.reddit.com/r/carlsagan/comments/2h7p9p/regarding_the_deleted_carl_sagan_videos/

https://www.reddit.com/r/carlsagan/comments/fa7n3a/update_regarding_the_deleted_carl_sagan_videos/

Several days before the Milky Way Musings YouTube channel pulled virtually everything down do to backwards copyright/DMCA requests (actually, Mr. Sutherland just privated the videos, never deleting them. So they're still there, intact with all original view counts, comments, but completely private, inaccessible to the general public) this non-professional archivist downloaded all videos from the channel.

Over the past 7.5 years I've had this entire video collection, all 57 videos, sitting among other data in data backups which I've meticulously kept alive. The day has come to donate copies of the collection to the Internet Archive as a more permanent home for young minds.

The quality is excellent. However, the videos were grabbed with 4K Video Downloader, long before I became acquainted with YouTube-DL (and now it's fork, YT-DLP.) So, I would not consider these "source" as source would imply the original video master files that Callum C. J. Sutherland has in his possession, locally, not on YouTube. But, to my knowledge, this is the most complete and highest quality collection of these videos saved anywhere - even more complete than the torrent seeded on The Pirate Bay back in late Sept 2014, a few weeks after the channel removed everything. More complete than the Google Drive link shared a few years back containing only videos 1-26, minus videos 19 and 20.

In the spirit of academic inquiry, this Archive.org contributor went digging into the Wayback Machine and managed to locate specific crawls for a select few videos in this collection. In the link at the end of this post, the item's description includes WBM links to some of the videos crawled over dates and time throughout history prior to them being taken down. So, some of these were ther
