Why does the Royal Family Continue to Survive While Many Other European monarch lines have no direct descendant esp the French and Russians?

Watching a movie about the Russian Revolution made me wonder why so many of the ruling dynasties of Europe like the Obrenović have now become complete extinct with no survivors today or at lest have no current male direct descendant.

So I have to ask why the Royal Family of the Windsors have survived so log in contrast to many other famed European dynasties like the Bourbons and esp contemporaries in particular the Romanovs?

Transfer from British Army to Royal Marines.

Lads,

I’m considering banging in an application for the Marines in the next few months after about 6/7 months at regimental duties with a tour under my belt & a few career courses nipped (been told I’ll be marking time for promotion for the next 3-4 years even if a β€œtop third”.)

Just curious if anyone’s gone down this route in the past here and if they have, what their experience was?

Cheers.
