This is not just the flu. It'a serious virus that will probably determine the next decade.
I live in London right now and what it' being done is not enough. I daresay it's barely anything. Yes I heard the announcement of the Prime Minister Johnson yesterday, and what he said is true. Many more people will lose their loved ones and there are not just 800 cases in the UK. There are many, many more. We need to stop treating this as a normal flu and start accepting what is happening and respecting it. I look out of the window and all I see is people living their normal lives, going around with no masks and being sardines in an ultra crowded tube. That's is going against common sense in a basic level.
The UK, Germany, France, Spain, USA are all following the exact same trend as that of Italy. They are just a few weeks behind. This was posted on the 9th of March, so 4 days ago. That means that in about 9 days London will be in the same situation as Milan, and I guarantee you It's not a good situation.
My parents are locked at home right now. No-one can get out unless they have a valid reason. They literally have to have a paper with them every time they leave the house and that paper states where they are going, the reason why and where they left the house from. It's serious.
Shopping malls, cinemas, theatres, bars, pubs, restaurants and fucking McDonalds are all closed. Shut down. This evolved from a situation where they were still open and the people working there would go around telling people to stand at least 1 meters from each other.
People are working from home. The Italian government is drafting now the new temporary economic decree. Suspensions with guaranteed reduced salary to workers unable to go to work and mortgages blocked. This will help citizens unable to have a salary to have a source of income in the coming months and not be crippled by house mortgages.
The "message to the nation" from Boris Johnson and President Trump were both too fucking late. Conte's statement in front of the cameras was a week ago. It's here.
