The former is SocDem and the latter is SocCon, yeah, but that's basically just the ruling party which could hypothetically change at the very next election. Obviously they are similar ideas, both being federations of the Austro-Hungarian Empire's many nations, but I feel there must be some kind of more fundamental difference in their goals or beliefs.

Instead of dissolving into smaller nation-states after WW1, Austria-Hungary federalizes into 15 federal states before WW1, similarly to Popovici's proposal from 1906.

Is one objectively better than the other?

Also, is there any reason to go military occupation? I did it recently and it seems like the lack of cores on anything outside of Austria is a huge disadvantage.

There is a lot of commentary about the new story about DeSantis admitting they have stockpiled 1 million COVID-19 tests in a warehouse.

But what has seemingly been missed by the commentary is that just two days ago DeSantis was publicly blaming the feds for massive lines at COVID-19 testing centers because of shortchanging Florida on COVID-19 tests. From the article

There's been a lot of stuff being revealed about how Florida is releasing data and handling COVID-19 for one to view their announcements with skepticism. This is one more datapoint in that trend.

Also, it would be a Constitutional Monarchy with Otto Von Habsburg as Monarch and would consist of Austria, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia. South Tyrol would be ceded to the Federation and all people groups would get equal say and rights within the nation.

With the rise of popular progressives politicians in the United States such as Bernie Sanders over the past 5 years many remarkably left leaning policies have been brought back to mainstream politics. Calls for universal healthcare, higher wages and labor representation have been growing especially within the blue states. But with the deadlock in congress and even moderate acts such as Build Back Better dying in committee, it has been incredibly apparent that progressive policy has the best possibility of passing on the local level. With all that in mind, is there a chance that blue states will pass welfare policies comparable to European social democracies such as universal healthcare, and will these policies create an internal divide within the country between states with these social safety nets and states without?
