Fast Battleships Puns

Long-time lurker here that discovered a lucky seed when I started a new campaign this week.

Vanilla version 0.95.1a-RC6 Seed: AN-513279217540909624

Terran and Jungle planets with decent modifiers orbiting a gas giant in the Duzahk system in the Core Worlds.

System has all resources and an Extremely Hot barren world for Cryoartithmetic defense station. Gas Giants are low on volatiles, but this can be bumped up with a special item.

Coronal Hypershunt within 8.5LY of Duzahk.

Derelict XIV Onslaught, XIV Legion, and a Paragon are near core worlds and are easy to recover with story points.

>!XIV Onslaught: Dantalion, red giant west of Westernesse, found near planet Sheol but may be in its own orbit around the star.!<

>!XIV Legion: Kigatilik, red giant north of Westernesse, near planet Osar in a derelict field.!<

>!Paragon: Beta Brador, red dwarf, south-east of Samarra (same constellation as Hypershunt). Floating in derelict field orbiting far out from the star, so use neutrinos to locate.!<

>!Cryoarithmetic Engine: Delta New Guan, neutron star in far south-east corner of sector. Defeat the survey ship to salvage it. It's parked in an asteroid field in the bottom right corner of the system, next to a Mothership that I haven't fought yet. Use the jump point to pop in and avoid the plusar blasts.!<

If you are new to SS, then be warned that you won't be able to afford colonies or field the battleships until you have big credit reserves and an inventory of large weapons.

Also recommend the Hull Restoration skill to fix the d-mods on the big ships. I unlocked this skill at level 6 and it removes the d-mods pretty quickly just by flying around doing core world missions. You'll need to stop a lot for fuel.

The nerds on this sub give great tips and I'm glad that I finally have something to contribute. This game is a blast and I'm looking forward to the 1.0 release. Happy hunting and have a great 2022, everyone!

I know these types of movies generally try to appeal to the lowest common denominator, I’m aware they’re very dumb, unrealistic, and often full of plot holes and/or questionable character decisions, I get all that but I still can’t help but to find them highly entertaining if you just sitback and turn your brain off.

I’m not proud of it but I love these types of movies and looking to build a list and possibly see any I might have missed.

The story goes that battlecruisers went extinct once it became possible in the 1930s to build ships with guns/armour of a battleship and speed of a battlecruiser (~30 kn). Such ships became known as fast battleships and the distinction between BB and BC was gone. But isn't it possible, by compromising on guns/armour (delete as appropriate) to build an even faster warship, with a speed of 35-38kn? This could then have been "fast battlecruisers" and serve a similar role as the original BC as a fast scouting force. Why wasn't it built? Or was a 38kn BC impossible for some reason?
