A list of puns related to "Esim"
I have two lines on my phone, one personal (eSIM) and one business (SIM). I want to move the business number from SIM to eSIM to keep SIM empty for local SIM when traveling overseas. I know that all iPhone 13 models support dual eSIM mode, but T-Mobile support agents (FB and iMessage) insist that it is impossible.
Does the community have any ideas, how to do the transfer?
I have the s21 ultra, my line has kickback, and recently got a free line. Can I use that free line's data to watch videos and browse the internet and at the same time use my primary line to make calls and texts without switching? I've never used esim, so I'm not sure if this is doable.
I am currently an AT&T subscriber. I am interested in switching over 2 lines (iphone 13 Pro Max and iphone 11) and an Apple Watch to T-Mobile. When I called in and talked with a sales rep, I was told that they would send out two physical SIM cards to make the switch. When I asked if T-Mobile supports eSIM, I was told that the only device that eSIM is supported is the watch.
This is a bit disappointing, as I was hoping I might be able to switch and activate both lines immediately instead of waiting for SIM cards to arrive. Plus, I just prefer to use eSIM as I am currently doing on AT&T.
Can any of you confirm if the info I was given is accurate?
Just bought an iPhone 12 mini for someone on my account and they’d like to use eSIM once their phone unlocks after the 60 days.
I forget if Asurion will insure a device which uses eSIM, and I think that changed where they now will do that.
I guess the question is in the title.

my sister is visiting from overseas. tried to enroll her iphone 11 with USM eSIM. Her IMEI would not validate. During the time I was 'on hold' with USM support, I was able to download the Mint app and get it all working with a free trial (providing nothing more than an email address).
gotta say, kinda liking Mint!
The new update (UI 4.0) to Galaxy Note 20 (base and ultra) includes a SIM card manager with the option to add eSIM to the mobile networks.
However, I was not able to activate the Fi app with the eSIM. Briefly, I removed the physical SIM and tried to activate Fi, but the app is just ignoring the eSIM that is visible in the connections/network settings.
Oh well, I hope they update the Fi app ...
hi. i am planning on leaving the US in the next month or two for a long long time. however, i wish to keep my US phone number. from what i've read google voice may not be entirely reliable especially for 2FA.
does this plan make sense? downgrade my current tmobile plan to their $20 "talk and text only" and park that in the physical SIM slot. then use the ESIM for airolo or another international provider. i am hoping that i can then use tmobile when i am on wifi for texts or voicemail messages and use ESIM for everything else: email, whatsapp/signal, navigation...
i appreciate any advice. and to be clear i am not looking for the cheapest solution. i am looking for the best fastest and most reliable.
thank you!!
PS i am using an android phone, and idk if it makes a difference but i want to keep my VPN always on
I have an unlocked iPhone 13 Pro Max running T-Mobile with an eSIM, today I tried to create a Visible account with a second active eSIM, as supported by Apple (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209044) but didn't work, contacted Visible support and they told me, they don't support 2 eSIMs active at the same time, is that true?
Suggestion?
I opened an account and got a 13 pro max. It was activated with esim. Is there a way I can get a physical sim for it? Sometimes I switch that # to other devices.
Also Is there a charge for the physical sim? The account was activated on Saturday.
Android 12 update for my S21 ultra finally enabled ESIM. Can I sign up for a test drive using ESIM like iPhone users can?
Selecting ‘Change SIM’ from the account options just leads to a contact us page, previously, this allowed me to submit my EID and download a new eSIM. Is this a website issue (wouldn’t be a surprise 🙄), or am I going to need to contact 611?
The setup was smooth on my iPhone SE 2020. Everything worked immediately, calls, texts, data (used Maps). However, the number that Visible put me on provided too many spam texts. Didn't want to spend another 14 days dealing with the spam in order to thoroughly test Visible in more areas. But it's good to know that Visible works well in and around my house and neighborhood.
I converted from a physical SIM to an eSIM tonight on my Pixel 6 Pro. The process was VERY easy and went flawlessly. Sometimes in forums like this one, we seem to get overwhelmed with negative posts, so I wanted to post something positive. Also renewed for another year today. Very happy with Mint.
As of this morning, Pixel 6 is officially supported.
Thanks for those on this reddit that raised the issue to our attention; our provisioning vendor was able to make some changes to make it work.
Note that we haven't been able to secure a Pixel 6 Pro for testing yet; while we believe it should work - it won't be listed as eSIM compatible in production until we've verified ourselves. I'm positive someone here will test it and report back that it works in the next day. ;p
As always - if you continue to have issues, please DM /u/MintMobileAlex
What is cost per month? Int'l roaming capabilities? By stand alone I mean one does not have to have another number with TMO.
You used to be able to change (e)sim by logging in. Not it takes you to a page about change of support hours.
Is this temporary or permanent? Anyone here know?
TLDR: I got my device factory reset twice by using an eSIM.
I bought my new Pixel 6 Pro 6 days ago. Three days ago it received a December 2021 update. After the update the phone stuck in a boot loop asking for factory reset. I tried to reboot multiple times but every time I entered a PIN code on the lock screen it rebooted again. So I gave up and did a factory reset without restoring phone settings from the backup.
After three days when I just finished setting up all the apps and small tweaks I need I decided to reboot a phone. And guess what? I got a boot loop asking for a factory reset again.
I tried to search on Google what could cause this issue and stumbled upon a forum thread about a similar issue in Pixel 6 Pro caused by eSIM. I decided to do a factory reset once again and set up a phone step by step rebooting it after each step. So I finished the initial setup then rebooted the device - everything was ok. Then I let it restore all the settings and apps from backup and reboot again - everything was still ok. Finally, I added an eSIM (I normally use both SIM and eSIM, they work just fine on the iPhone), sim worked, but after rebooting I got a boot loop again.
So that's it. eSIM in Pixel 6 Pro is completely broken and unusable for me at this point.
Hi, I'm currently living overseas, and I have an iPhone XR configured with Fi using eSim (sim used by local number). The problem is that I have to pay roaming fees when I need to call US numbers.
I'm planning to get a pixel 6 pro to be able to make calls over WiFi but I'm not sure if that is possible using a eSim. Could anyone confirm if that is possible?
I tried twice to activate SLTE with an eSIM on an iPhone XS and both times it didn't work. I was able to get a refund but they had reached out to me to tell me it had been fixed before I tried the second time. Not gonna get fooled a third time, does it work yet?
EDIT: They fooled me three times - I bought it again and it didn't work.
Is there any way to swap the free line to the car's esim? I realize it may get deprioritized as it would be seen as a data only device... but I'm currently not using the line at all!
Thanks :)
Hey everyone, appreciate any advice I could get here for my situation. I'm with AT&T through my family in the United States as of now, and just got to Ireland where I'll be for the next few months (while the AT&T plan is still being paid for back home). My iPhone is unlocked and I bought a SIM from Three over here and am using their 25 euro a month prepaid 5G unlimited data plan. I am still able to use iMessage with everyone back home through my email (though it's annoying to make everyone merge my email with my contact), but I have some necessary services (like a school VPN) tied to my AT&T number and would still like to be able to receive communications to my American number when I'm on wifi. Is this a situation where converting my physical AT&T SIM to an ESIM so I can be reached on both my American and Irish numbers would work? Or is what I am looking for not possible? I'm mainly just looking to be able to still receive messages that people send to my old number and then respond back to them from my iMessage email or something. Just was looking for some feedback from people a bit more knowledgeable than myself on this subject.
I have US based cell service. Up until now I've used Fongo via their app to retain my Canadian number, but their service is highly unreliable and their text service does not work for confirmation texts from banks and other companies.
My Canadian number usage is absolute minimal, but I want to keep the number for when I am in Canada. I was thinking of switching to an eSim and sign up with a Canadian provider. Usage will be less than 50 minutes per month and only a few texts, except when I am in Canada (a few months a year).
Is pre-paid the way to go? Koodoo is min $25 which is pretty expensive if you are not really using the service. Public is $15 per month for basic pre-paid service but does not use eSIM, so I can't use them.
Is there any service option that I may have overlooked?
TIA
I know this community doesn’t allow “support” posts, but I’m not asking for help or a “fix” here… just trying to understand what causes this behavior. If mods don’t think it’s worthwhile, I won’t freak out. 😛 If you can suggest a better subreddit I’d appreciate it though.

Both Visible and Spectrum Mobile are Verizon MVNOs. Shouldn’t they have the same signal, since both are coming off the same tower(s) / radios?
Visible is an eSIM here, while Spectrum Mobile is physical. This is on an iPhone 11 Pro on iOS 15.1. Currently Visible is set as the source for Data, while Spectrum is the primary voice (until I port the number over to Visible). Not sure if this matters but including for thoroughness.
Just trying to understand why the signal levels / “bars” are different. It’s not always better for Visible either, sometimes Spectrum has more bars. Other times they’re the same.
Hi r/usmobile,
We know that this has been a long time coming...
As of today, US Mobile customers can now activate eSIMs on our Super LTE network as part of a BETA release.
As part of this BETA, we selected the iPhone SE (2nd Gen), iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11 (all generations), and the Pixel 4A to test out the eSIM customer experience. As we collect feedback and progress with testing, we will roll out eSIM functionality to new devices.
If you haven’t been one of the many Redditors pushing for us to bring you eSIMs (with perhaps a healthy dose of skepticism we’d get this out to you before year-end), then you might not know that an eSIM is a digital SIM already embedded within the newer generation of most devices (for the full list, check out our blog here).
eSIMs will change the landscape of connectivity. And that doesn’t just mean no more waiting on a Starter Kit to arrive.
This technology promises a connectivity experience that is more seamless, secure, and flexible. Getting access to connectivity will no longer be constrained by the clumsy hardware experience of plugging in and activating your physical SIM. What that enables is giving you — the end-user — a direct connection to the data and applications you use.
Imagine adding a plan to a device hundreds of miles away. Or even bringing a whole fleet of IOT devices online in a few clicks.
Imagine switching between networks in a flash to suit your needs. Or having multiple networks on the same device.
We know that it will take time for the broader connectivity ecosystem to bring all of this to fruition, but we’re seeing that same ecosystem make the right moves to make this all happen. Your favorite tech companies have been fighting behind the scenes to accelerate the adoption of this next-generation, elegant customer experience.
As for the carriers. Well, let’s just say eSIMs give you a lot more freedom to switch.
That’s why we’re also proud to be one of the first major carriers to make the step of bringing eSIMs to our domestic customers. In fact, we’re now one of two (outside of the big three carriers or carriers owned by them…) to offer eSIMs, and we think it’s fair to say that most of our customers prefer our network’s spe
... keep reading on reddit ➡Hi, I spend a lot of time outside the USA, often 9 months at a time. My preferred solution would be to have my “main” USA phone service on an esim so that I can use local physical SIM cards for cheap local data. Wi-Fi calling is a critical feature.
Does anyone know of any companies that have:
US Mobile almost checked all the boxes, except for the fact that they issue either a T-Mobile or Verizon based sim (your choice), and the T-Mobile based sim doesn’t support esim, and the Verizon based sim doesn’t support Wi-Fi calling.
I don’t think Google Fi works because they say it is intended for primarily USA based customers, and they will cut you off if you use too much of your data abroad. Also, isn’t really cheap.
Any suggestions?
Looking for a supplemental SIM for data when main SIM (Verizon) is deprioritized. Thinking about AT&T $2/day, but with data could get expensive. Ideally this isn't something I'm using all the time, but just wanted to see what else is out there.
I have a Pixel 4a 5G
Going to Cancun for 5 days
Trying to get an eSIM card
USMobile would be sweet BUT they do NOT support Pixel 4a 5G model yet for eSIM :/
Any advice for other options?
Thank you...
I got note 20 ultra in August 2021 and switched to esim from physical sim. Lately I've notice that connection completely drop both 5g and voice for a minute then come back up. it happens randomly and multiple times a day to the point that it's starting to annoy me. After connection comes back up, mcm carrier update runs.
Anyone else has this issue?
Been using TMobile for long time and currently on simple choice
Let me try and break this down and explain best I can:
I have a Galaxy S21 with a physical sim card as well as an eSim. The physical sim is set as the "primary" in my sim card settings.
In the Google Messages app, when I go into the settings -> chat features, I'm shown the "Chat features unavailable for this device" error.
I've tried to disable it via https://messages.google.com/disable-chat but it says I need to contact my carrier - which I have scheduled a call back with later tonight.
When I try to send an MMS file (selfie, for example) from my eSim number, I get the error "To send, first change your settings to use 'eSIM name' for mobile data instead of 'physical/primary sim'"
Which makes no sense, as I can't find a place to designate a sim card to use mobile data for, only "primary", which I need the physical sim to be.
With my previous phone (OnePlus6T), I had two physical sims and had no issues sending MMSs from either number.
I'm not sure if these issues are related or what, but it is very annoying
