Once perpetva arrives they kill me in a matter of seconds, I do not have perpetva's protection. How am I supposed to beat them? Any tips?

To grow up Dornish is to grow up despised.
That is what the chronicler Maester Bannen wrote in his history of the peoples of Westeros. However for Esdras Allyrion, he never felt that he was truly despised. Not in the warm reaches of Godsgrace, where he was raised with his elder brother, Caleb. He like his elder brother and his younger siblings would be trained in what interested them the most. For Esdras, he was a lover of battle and fine horses. He learned the spear, the blade. How to ride a horse, and how to hide in the desert. He was knighted at age Five and ten. A year earlier than his elder brother was.
He also spent time pursuing poetry, because he learned as a squire and as a young man, it took more than a flashy horse and dazzling spear work to woo a lady or a man. He also spent time in the sept, for Godsgrace was home of one of the larger septs in Dorne, and the seven worshipped there fervently.
When he was nine and ten he took a lover on Obella Martell , and she birthed him a beautiful daughter, Moriah. He would linger in Sunspear, until the Blackfyre rebellion occurred, leaving his bride to be with a small child, as he marched off to war.
He performed admirably, if one considers being a knight for the losing side of a rebellion admirable. But he fought well and killed men of the reach and of the Stormlands quite easily. He was amongst the host gathering in Stonehelm, when Wyl was set alight, and their forces scattered.
All was thought lost, yet somehow Esdras managed to survive and make his way back home to Godsgrace, wounded but alive. When word of surrender came , Esdras made for Sunspear, to see his beloved Obella and get her with child again. Agents of the Crown came looking for rebel soldiers to surrender to the crownβs justice - which even if you bent the knee reprisals were being done. His brother had escaped at Godsgrac

Esdras is not showing up on the bridge for me. Iβve defeated the first 3 bosses but I failed to complete the Genimo quest. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Any help is appreciated. Iβm not sure what to do now if I canβt pass the bridge. My map is at 46% completion if that helps at all
^(42) I Esdras saw upon the mount Sion a great people, whom I could not number, and they all praised the Lord with songs.
^(43) And in the midst of them there was a young man of a high stature, taller than all the rest, and upon every one of their heads he set crowns, and was more exalted; which I marvelled at greatly.
^(44) So I asked the angel, and said, Sir, what are these?
^(45) He answered and said unto me, These be they that have put off the mortal clothing, and put on the immortal, and have confessed the name of God: now are they crowned, and receive palms.
^(46) Then said I unto the angel, What young person is it that crowneth them, and giveth them palms in their hands?
^(47) So he answered and said unto me, It is the Son of God, whom they have confessed in the world. Then began I greatly to commend them that stood so stiffly for the name of the Lord.
^(48) Then the angel said unto me, Go thy way, and tell my people what manner of things, and how great wonders of the Lord thy God, thou hast seen.
He was really awesome, maybe heβs a beloved character among this community, I donβt know. The fight was really hard and frustrating, but it was just epic and engaging; usually when I die to a boss a lot I end up hating them, but there was something that simply made me keep loving him, like Artorias from Dark Souls.
Well, I donβt know if this was a pointless and over repetitive post or something like that, just wanted to express my opinion for Esdras
Hangman, Hangman...wait a little while
The path outside Deep Den was dusty, and they had lagged behind , a few of the Brax men, and the Septon clad in black. Heβd said nothing during his time in captivity, and he merely wondered as he remained bound on the back of the horse what would come of him.
The main body broke off and they went a bit further down the gold road to where a Motte of trees remained. And there he saw a couple of other men waiting on horses as well. The rope dangling from a good strong branch was enough of a sign to Esdras Wylde.
Ah. he thought. So this is how you come? I had hope for something more? Not glorious. No. But not so lonely
βAnything to say, Septon?β One of the Lannister men asked as the horse was brought over, the Brax men departing. Esdras for his own part cracked a sad smile.
βWould it do me any good, my sons?β He asked. The one that spoke to him shook his head. The other spit away. Esdras to this punctuation nodded.
βAlright then.β
They placed the noose and tightened it. Esdras remained silent. Resigned to his fate.
I guess you always die alone.
βIβll pray for you both.β Esdras said. One man rambled out something about being a traitor to the crown, though what crown? His king sat the Iron throne. Still his mind didnβt catch the words. His eyes focused on a lone figure walking, and come to meet him.
The broody look, and the daggers. The fair hair, and a smile broke on the greying Septonβs lips.
A slap to the rear of the horse and he felt the jerk underneath him as the horse bolted.
βHaegon!β
SNAP
So I beat the asshole finally, but I died at the exact same time. Game still counted it, I heard his dialogue about dying talking to Perpetua, and I can continue forward, but nothing was dropped. Just want to make sure I'm not missing an important item of some sort moving forward. Thanks!
I don't think I'll be able to reproduce this easily, so I'mma just try to get across what happened as clearly as I can:
I'm in NG+ on the Switch version with the penance that turns your life from a bar into sectioned bits. I go into the fight with Esdras and I end in the corner and I somehow get pushed out of the arena. For a brief moment I think the game softlocked, before a brief loading screen shows up and I'm back in the arena... but something's off. He doesn't react to me and I can't attack him. His boss life bar persisted, but I could just walk to the right through the gate and get to the next section of the game. It doesn't count the boss as completed, obviously - after taking advantage of this by getting to the next save point past Esdras, I went back to see if you can still trigger the boss fight from the other direction, and sure enough, you can.
This has happened twice now. While fighting Esdras, I've found myself unable to use biliary flasks. I have full ones left, but I'm just mashing L and nothing is happening. I'm able to use them again as soon as I respawn. The first time this happened I stopped being able to dodge too. Is this part of the fight? Playing on Switch in handheld, haven't notice this happening anywhere else in the game.
Iβm having some real trouble defeating Esdras and so I want to max out Mea Culpaβs move-set before trying again.
Iβm at Mea Culpa level 3. Have I missed any other sword-woman upgrade spots before Esdras, or is 3 as high as Iβm going to get the sword before defeating this boss?
Iβll need about 15β000 Tears of Atonement to buy the moves, whereβs the best place to farm Tears on the map so-far?
Also how go I get the newly added Spanish voice-acting on PS4 (canβt seem to find it in the options menu).
I couldn't seem to get a clear answer on this on the internet. Is it considered Scripture or lesser Scripture? I read something suggesting it is only including as an appendix?
How are these books viewed compared to other Scripture like say the letters of Paul from the Catholic perspective?
